Belmont: Thursday 10/15 Plays R8 - Pete's Picks
Thursday action with Eight races scheduled at the new Belmont Park. I will be condensing my plays down to just the numbers and attacking the early double starting in R2 (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 3-5). Race 3:
The money will show on (2) RISK TOLERANCE in this option allowance on the turf. Brown and Prat make this hard to like anyone else on top. I'll try to get some value underneath with a price and a savor with a logical contender.
I’ll use (1) Sherlock's Jewel and (7) Versus underneath for the exacta.

We’ll also use (2) Risk Tolerance in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 6:
(3) EPIC PRAYER and (7) MOTORCYCLE COP exit the same race where they faced open company at a slightly higher claiming level. Now they face fellow NY Breds at 50k. Both look tough, but with Prat shipping in to ride, Epic's price will likely drop. I'll lean more on the Cop to get the first jump with Manny taking over. The one to watch will be (6) CREAM AND CRIMSON. He did not get away the best last time and just ran evenly all the way around. Captain George beat the top two by several, as well as this guy, so they seem comparable to each other.

Race 7:
(4) TUNING UP has only two starts and already has the highest speed figure of this group. The rest of the field have had several chances, all double digits, and still can't find wins. He'll be short odds and goes back on L1. I'll include two savers because it's Prat and Franco. (2) TWOHONESTMISCHIEF scored a good 2nd when Prat last rode him, and that was the first time against winners. (5) CALLING CARD is a new animal now that he has joined the Rice barn. A blowout win and a 3rd place finish sprinting. They stretch him back out to where he belongs today.

Race 8:
(9) R KAN'T MISS is the speed, and she will just go and try to hold on. (4) PERFECT FLOW and (6) SHE'S SLICK are both first-time starters with some decent works. One of them could also be speed, which could help the Golden Pal filly (10) SOUTHERN KISS in this spot. She drops back in for a tag and sports the best run of the bunch after a rough start may have cost her the win last time.
