Aqueduct: Thursday 4/30 Plays R8 - Pete's Picks

We have eight scheduled on this Muddy Thursday Aqueduct card. They stay on the turf for all three today. I will be condensing my plays down to just the numbers and attacking the early double. (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 3-5). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 6-8). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

R3: 3, 4, 6

R4: 3, 4

R5: 5, 6, 8 Cost: $ 18.00

Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:

R6: 5, 8, 9

R7: 2, 4, 5

R8: 7, 9 Cost: $ 18.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

Baseball Lady will be tough but she has trouble finishing off the race like the rest of this group. I'm leaning on (6) TIMIA on the cut back to 6.5F today. She also can handle to off track. She will likely set up shop just outside the three speeds and try to reel them in late.

I’ll use (3) Amy's Light and (4) Baseball Lady underneath for the exacta.

We’ll also use (6) Timia in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 6:

(8) NEW YORK SCRAPPY and (9) THREE LITTLE BIRDS will go early and which ever one can clear off, has the advantage. Scrappy may get to the front but the Little Bird might have more stamina. I will try to catch them both with (5) APOLLO CODE. He tries an extra furlong today, has off track blood lines and has a fast work leading up to this for Handel. Seems live to me.

Race 7:

(2) OCEAN ATLANTIQUE is fresh off the Sharp claim and they quickly switch this 9yr old back to the grass. Throw in Manny and he feels all dressed up for a big effort. (4) BELOUNI reunites with Davis and they were together for his best effort last fall. If they find that race, he wins today. (5) AMBITION loses weigh and may try to steal this one as the race lacks speed.

Race 8:

Both Yaupon runners move to the turf and both have a race that makes them a player here. Especially with all the scratches. (7) ATIRA has the American Pharoah influence and they has been doing well on turf. (9) VENETTA made up a lot of ground after a bad break. She'll likely be more forward today and will be tough if she handles the grass.
