Wood Memorial week kicks off with an eight race card at the Big A. I will be condensing my plays down to just the numbers and attacking the early double. (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 3-5). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 6-8). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
(3) DEVILS ARROW won't mind the added distances as this Arrogate tries two turns for the first time. She has speed as well so if she gets to the rail going into the first turn, I can't see them catching her. Wire to wire.
I’ll use (5) Methea and (6) Hello Beauty underneath for the exacta.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 6:
(3) SMILENSAYCHEESE has no speed but does have a closing kick. The early pace will dedictate if he if will be a danger late. Guessing the two outside runners go at which will help his chances. The switch to Prat is key on (7) OATH OF AMERTA. He may press Scrappy or lay just off. The break from the gate will likely decide that. He's the only speed that can hang around. I want (5) CAPT JAX PARROW in this spot. He was against the track two back and was no match for Mo last time in the mud. Clear sailing today with Elliot returning.

Race 7:
(6) SHADOW DRAGON, (7) ALAN TURNING and (2) BARON OF SEALAND exit the same race where they were within 2 lengths of each other. I can't see past these three and I've been on ALAN every time. I'll give him the nod one more time as Franco stays up.

Race 8:
This finale has some speeds that need the lead. That makes me lean towards the stalkers and closers. I'll look for (2) DOPPIO ESPRESSO to make the first move. If he can handle facing winners for the first time, he could forget to stop. (8) TWIRLING LULU drops slightly and gets a dry track. He's struggled when is wet so I'm looking for him to find his race two back. If so, he's right there. I can't let Rice try to sneak (3) RARE SOCIETY past us. She drops him in for tag and Dylan is back riding again. They spot him in a better spot and he only needs to run a similar race that he ran in his maiden score. All systems go today.
