Another eight scheduled for this Friday at the Big A. I will be condensing my plays down to just the numbers and attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 3-5). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 6-8). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $ 10.00 Early Double:
R1: 1, 2
R2: 4, 5 Cost: $ 20.00
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R3: 1, 2, 5
R4: 6, 9, 10
R5: 3, 6, 7, 11 Cost: $ 36.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R6: 1, 2, 5
R7: 5, 7, 9
R8: 2, 9, 10, 11, 12 Cost: $ 45.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
(5) MASTER OF ARMS was claimed back in January, and De Paz has found his best races again. This gelding was dominant in his early years on this circuit before tailing off. He looks sharp again now as a 7-year-old. Jamie may have had several mounts in this race and chose to stay put. Since the claim, he's done everything right in the morning and afternoon. I'll keep riding this vet until he tells me otherwise.
I’ll use (2) Mr Skylight and (1) Factually Correct underneath for the exacta.
$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Ex 5 w/ 1, 2 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use (5) Master Of Arms in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.
(6) Sounds Like A Plan, (9) Spirit Of St Louis and (10) Iron Max in the 4th.
$ 5.00 Daily Double 5 w/ 6, 9, 10 Cost $ 15.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 6:
(1) SARATOGA DAISY has outworked her stablemate and offers a better price. We'll side with her. (2) NEW YORK SPECIAL is opening some eyes as they have her as the 2nd choice behind the Brown runner. She has some fast works to back it up. I don't like the 2:1 ML price on (5) FACTORY SETTING, but I think she found her friends today. She has burned a lot of money in all three starts, but all three speed figures are better than those that have raced. Unless New York is Special, she figures to be right there close to home.
$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 1, 2, 5 Cost $ 18.00
Race 7:
(9) CUANDO has inherited the lead with the Shoreman scratching. Carmouche will try to clear early and get to the hedge before the turn comes up. If he can do that, his chances increase turning for home. (5) CYCLONITE is the other contender that will attract some attention. He comes late in most of his races but has a tough time getting there in time. He needs a setup and there are other speeds entered. I want to take a shot with the Maker colt, (7) FLAT TO DA MAT. Turf sprinting is what he wants as his best two finishes have been at this 6F distance. He's been working well leading up to this and seems primed for a good effort. Santana takes over and figures to get a nice setup up front.
$ 7.00 WPS 7 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 2, 5, 7 Cost $ 18.00
Race 8:
We'll spread out here as this one looks wide open. Both (11) ROCKET ROBIN and (12) VALIANT DIVA drop to the MCL ranks and add L1. Most times that's enough in the claiming ranks. (10) JUST ONE MORE has speed, which is always dangerous. Santana will go right from the first jump and try to win it going into the turn. Jose lands on (9) RAYNHAM HALL and moves back to the turf. This is where she belongs and held her own against MSW company last year. (2) ON A SUMMER DAY wanted no part of the dirt or mud. They quickly move her back to the grass and invite Carmouche back. They both just missed the last time they hooked up together.
