Fast and Firm to start another week of racing at the Spa. We're moving along quick with only a few more weeks up North. I will be condensing my plays down to just the number and attacking the early double starting in R2 (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 4-6). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 7-9). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $ 5.00 Early Double:
R1: 1
R2: 2, 3 Cost: $ 10.00
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R4: 3, 4, 5, 6
R5: 8, 9
R6: 2, 9, 10 Cost: $ 24.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R7: 1, 2, 3
R8: 4, 5, 7
R9: 2, 4, 6, 10 Cost: $ 36.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
(1) WHISTLER'S STYLE looks solid for Rice as she has a nice closing kick with some speed signed on. They draw nicely outside coming out of the chute and Irad has plenty of time to save some ground approaching the turn. He drops slightly as this outfit puts them in the right spots to win and the cutback to 7F looms large for this Tonalist.
$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Ex 1 w/ 2, 6 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use (1) Whistler's Style in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.
(3) Brocknardini or (5) Bobby M's Girl in the 4th.
$ 7.00 Daily Double 1 w/ 3, 5 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
(2) PARCHMENT PARTY is a possible single on most tickets as Mott has him sharp right now. They shipped in and ogged in the mud last time and we'll certainly use but he gets a dry track and was just average before that blowout win. I'll include (3) GAME WARDEN. Santana is 2 for 2 on this track with him and has some decent works leading up to this. There is speed to push the pace in this marathon and they'll sit chilly until the last turn home. I want to take a stab with (1) STRAPPED. He seems much better the farther he goes. He never been this far before but he gets Saez who can carry him this far. He figures to save ground around all these turns and just doesn't no how to stop.
$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 1, 2, 3 Cost $ 18.00
Race 8:
(5) MIDWAY MEMORIES and (7) GRISELDA are two from Brown and both will take some action. Midway had a tough trip when facing winners for the first time and they drop her slightly here. That should make a big difference with a clean trip. The France bred filly, Griselda, picks up Prat and has some closing kick in sprint races that should help her navigate the 1M lap around the inner. Castellano finally got his first win here and draws the hedge with (2) DUBOFF. This guy gets overlooked today ad should be a price. He'll wait for Javier signal and make the first move turning for home. If he can get separation, he could hold off the closers late.
$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex Box 2, 5, 7 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
(10) ST. BRIGID'S CROSS broke slow and was left with too much to do at 5F. Weaver switches to Manny to muscle his way out of the gate and mount a serious bid late. (6) I REST MY CASE also got away slow and managed to pick up a check. A clean break is all she needs to collect again. Both (2) DANCINGWITHDESTINY and (4) SETTING SUN have the pedigree to enjoy this turf sprint. We'll include both.
