Nine races for this Thursday action with the marathon, Birdstone Stakes, as the feature. I will be condensing my plays down to just the numbers and attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 4-6). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 7-9). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

(1) LADY WISDOM stands out in this group. The 7/5 ML will likely hold with the barn going well and her decent 2nd place finish against slightly better last time. Stalk and pounce seems likely again. I like two prices underneath though to juice up the exacta. Several will fade and the two plodders will seem like they're closing in but really the others will be going much slower through the lane.

I’ll use (6) Icy Legs and (7) Spirit Of Esther underneath for the exacta.

We’ll also use (1) Lady Wisdom in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 7:

(4) QUIET CONFIDENCE is the one speed I want. She has potential to get to the front by herself and wear down the other speeds. The question is, can she hold off the closers? Irad shows up on the Ward runner (6) SHOOT IT TRUE. She has the highest speed figures of the group and figures to get a nice setup. Sometimes the turf gives an advantage to the front runners, so Irad has to keep her close today. The other closer, (1) ABIENTOT, can save ground from the hedge draw and be a factor late if the speeds go at it.

Race 8:

(1) PARCHMENT PARTY didn't show up in the Suburbon which is a head scratcher. That's a little alarming. I'll use defensively and try to beat him with two outside runners. Both (6) INTERCEPTOR and (7) JOKESTAR have been knocking at the door to get to Parchment and today is the day for one or both. They both have speed to stay close and stamina to last. They both get an Ortiz brother so take your pick.

Race 9:

(2) CRITERIA and (4) ROYAL ENCLOSURE are both a Yaupon and he is hot right now in the shed. Of the two, Criteria seems more suited for the dirt. (10) HOLY SEVEN has some early foot so the outside draw shouldn't make that much difference. This one looks primed for a front running score cutting back to 6F.
