2-year-olds take center stage this Sunday at the Spa. I will be condensing my plays down to just the number and attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 6-8). Big Pete will attack two "Plays of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 9-11); GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $ 5.00 Early Double:

R1: 4, 8

R2: 3, 6 Cost: $ 20.00

Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:

R7: 5, 6, 8

R8: 1, 8

R9: 2, 5, 9 Cost: $ 18.00

Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:

R10: 1, 4, 5, 7

R11: 6, 7, 8

R12: 3, 7, 8, 10 Cost: $ 48.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 4:

Not a lot of speed to go with (3) MASHALLAH here, so she will most likely control the tempo. Some may try to go head-to-head, but that will ultimately do them in. We'll take the layup with this talented sprinter and look for both closers to come late and pass the others.

$ 7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $ 21.00

$ 7.00 Ex 3 w/ 5, 6 Cost: $ 14.00

We'll use (3) Mashallah in R4 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.

(1) Inalienable or (8) George's Pal Vinny in the 5th.

$ 7.00 Daily Double 3 w/ 1, 8 Cost $ 14.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 6:

(5) NOBLE FACTOR stretched out last time, and he proved he can run all day. He moves in closer to the hedge for this race, so he can probably save a little ground around the three turns. Castellano takes over, and he's been timing them right lately.

$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex Box 5, 7, 8 Cost: $ 18.00

We'll use (5) Noble Factor in R6 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.

(7) Clear Conscience or (8) Iron Sight in the 7th.

$ 5.00 Daily Double 5 w/ 7, 8 Cost $ 10.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 10:

(5) MIDNIGHT STILL woke up in a big way on the Spa dirt. Now this Curlin begins to stretch out. There's enough speed to set him up nicely. Jr subs in, and the bullet leading up to this jumps off the page. (7) LIFESONG looked like an old pro the way he settled and pounced when the jock said go. These Life Is Good offspring are running a lot like dad, and the extra distance shouldn't matter. The two sleepers are (1) THE GOOD LIFE and (4) FLIGHT COMMAND. Both have speed, and they must catch them to win.

$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 5, 7 w/ 1, 4, 5, 7 Cost $ 18.00

Race 11:

(7) CREDITWORTHY and (8) BITE AND STRIKE break outside and can watch what develops inside them. Bite will hustle away, and Credit should settle in right behind. Both look likely to run a big one again today. I'll focus on the Maker runner (6) HEART HEADED to find his race two back. He closed nicely in that one where the pace was hot and just missed. He gets a similar setup to come and get the late again.

$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex Box 6, 7, 8 Cost $ 18.00

Race 12:

This one is wide open. (8) DAISY DOO has only one chance, and that's to try and wire them. If he gets a breather at some point, he just might pull it off. (3) IRISH GOODBYE has some turf pedigree to like, so the switch to the grass is interesting for Cox. (10) ENGRAVED is also bred well for grass, and they stretch him out, which is what he probably wants. Jose is riding the best right now. Looms large. The other live runner to me is (7) TANGO TANGO. Two solid runs on this course should have him primed third time out. The 8:1 ML is too high to pass on.

$ 7.00 WPS 7 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 7, 10 w/ 3, 7, 8, 10 Cost $ 18.00
