Thursday racing at the Spa and we are heating up heading into the second weekend. I will be condensing my plays to take down the early double (Races 1-2) and a middle pick 3 (Races 5-7) . Big Pete will have his full breakdown on his "Play of the Days" and the late pick 3 (Races 8-10). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
NW2L Claimers go at it and we have a tough group as all have proven they can’t locate the winners circle. I’ll like the switch to Davis and first time off the claim (7) AL’S PRINCE. This Cairo Prince has made the transition to turf with three solid tries on that surface. Englehart wheels this one right back looking for a quick return on his investment.
(3) Cash In A Flash drops slightly and (6) St Joe Louis has the connections.

We’ll also use (7) Al’s Prince in R3 and try to crash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
We’ll use likely favorite (1) Run Poppy and the Pletcher/Irad combo with (3) Forbidden Secret in the 4th.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
(3) CARAGATE comes in with back to back runs at this level that stack up well against these. The third time should be the charm with Castellano up. (1) U GUYS ARE NO FUN has been facing weaker foes and now tries the big leagues. Irad shows up so that raises some eyebrows and will like take money. I’ll try to beat her. (7) MIA BEA STAR has held her own with no help from her jock. Now Jr flies in and will be hungry for the winner circle. She’s worth every bit of the 8:1ML that they are offering.

Race 9:
(4) DAKOTA GOLD will attract a lot of attention and rightfully so. He tried the G1 Breeders Cup and was a respectable 5th. He won his 2022 debut as a public workout and now is ready to roll. He’ll be tough to beat. We’ll toss in (7) PRACTICE SQUAD in case Dakota is not 100% as he gets Prat and faces NY Breds again.

Race 10:
(4) SHACKLED BY LUST is the only one I like that has run so far. Sharp switches to Saez and switches to turf. The Artie Schiller influence underneath bodes well for the surface switch. I’ll include two first time starters to close out this late pick 3. (5) MARGARET BURBIDGE is bred to like turf and has Ward and irad in her corner. (6) AMERICAN ROCKETTE is a Mott runner and attracts the visiting Alvarado. These Pharoah handle the grass so if they take money, the word may be out.
