Sunday's at Saratoga and we have ourselves a nice 10 race card that we will cover each one of them. I will be looking to take down the early double (Races 1 & 2) as well as a spot pick 3 (Races 5-7). Big Pete will be playing a couple of his "Plays of the Day" and look to close the card with a late pick 3 (Races 8-10). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $1.00 Early Double:

R1: 2, 4, 5, 8

R2: 1, 2, 4, 8
Cost: $16.00

Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:

R5: 3, 4

R6: 4, 6, 7, 8

R7: 3, 5, 7, 10

Cost: $32.00

Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:

R8: 4, 6

R9: 3, 4, 6, 8

R10: 1, 5, 6, 8

Cost: $ 32.00

Little Pete's Early Double:

Race 1:

(4) Bourbon Bash is my top play in here under Tyler Gaffalione who has been training lights out and should be able to take command early in this one. In a group of inexperienced, I like to go with horses with early speed and this horse should be able to sustain a big run throughout. The Chad Brown entry is another horse that I like in here to the outside who should be able to navigate a trip to the rail right out of the gate and plenty of speed late. I will close with the two Pletcher horses in (2) Bat Flip and (5) Upgrade. I am leaning on (5) Upgrade in this one who hasn't shown as much speed as his stablemate in the morning, I think will thrive against competition and the extra furlong.

$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 4,8 w/ 2,4,5,8 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 2,5 w/ 2,4,5,8 Cost: $6.00

Race 2:

(4) Once a Giant is my top pick in here who broke his maiden two back and took a step up in class. I think the drop back down in this one and the running style plays well late for this one. I like the workouts leading in as well. (2) Ampersand is going to be a pretty heavy favorite in here with the class relief and Irad Ortiz taking the mount. (1) Icon has been training lights out coming into this one and I think will perform well off the claim from the Robertino Diodoro barn. My last play is (8) Alite who continues to perform well at this level and saves a ton of ground up late; I think that this horse will be able to navigate a nice trip in here and that could equate to hitting the board or even better.. Winning!

$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 2,4 w/ 1,2,4,8 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 1,8 w/ 1,2,4,8 Cost: $6.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

Gustavo didn’t reach out to regular rider Luzzi, after claming (3) TACO BEAN. Instead, he reaches out to Lezcano in this 6F sprint. They may find themselves on or close to the front. The new scenery and rider switch should help this Alpha show some spark. Each time he faced claimers at this level he has come close in all three. One of them was his maiden score.

(2) Power Agenda and (4) Doctor Love look solid underneath.

$ 7.00 WPS 3 Cost $ 21.00

$ 7.00 Exacta 3 w/ 2, 4 Cost $ 14.00

We’ll also use (3) Taco Bean in R3 and try to crash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.

We’ll use likely favorite (1) King Angelo and (7) Battle Station who has found some class relief in the 4th.

$ 7.00 Double 3 w/ 1, 7 Cost $ 14.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 4:

There are several runners who want and/or need the lead. That will set up the race perfectly for stalker (7) BATTLE STATION to gather himself and run by the tiring horses. That was a stakes group of runners he faced last time and gets some relief today. Carmouche returns for this professional race horse who shows up every time.

$ 7.00 WPS 7 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Exacta Box 1, 6, 7 Cost $ 18.00

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 5:

There isn't much that separates (3) Malathaat and (4) Clairiere and for that reason I have to include both. A half length is the furthest separation they have had against each other in the two races they have gone against each other. I am on (4) Clairiere in here to repeat last time out and close very strongly to take this one, but not by much.

$5.00 WPS 4 Cost: $15.00

Race 6:

(7) Rarify is my top pick in here from the Wesley Ward barn who is training lights out and should hit the front early. Irad will let this horse loose come stretch drive and will most likely be too much to catch late. (8) Randomized is flying in the morning and Manny knows how to close on this dirt; will be extremely interesting down the stretch. (4) Kaling is an interesting Pletcher horse with Prat getting the mount in here. I think this horse will be second early and will have plenty in the reserve to make it interesting. (6) Vahva is my last play being the daughter of Gun Runner. Luis Saez knows what to do with speed and will be involved throughout, which I think makes a huge difference late.

$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 7,8 w/ 4,6,7,8 Cost: $16.00

$1.00 Ex 4,6 w/ 4,6,7,8 Cost: $8.00

Race 7:

(7) Born Dapper is my top play in here who has shown some ability against a similar field and that experience will play off late. (5) Idea Generation from the Chad Brown barn and (10) Treasured Gem are must play on grass at this distance. These trainers just seem to be on another level on grass. My last play is (3) Love Tank has some experience under her belt and taking a step up in here into open company, but I think performs extremely well. Saez should have this horse on the rail throughout and wait for the moment to strike down the stretch.

$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 5,7 w/ 3,5,7,10 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 3,10 w/ 3,5,7,10 Cost: $6.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 8:

I'll be honest, I was only using the two runners that scratched out of this race. We're left with five that have a lot to prove that they can get to the winner circle. That said, I'm no looking at the jockeys that remain. Saez finds himself on (6) TOTALIZER as that one ships in for Maker. I like this gelding stretching out to 7F after a decent run last time against similar company. (4) EMERALD EXPRESS goes out first for Sharp after the claim. He has improved in his last 4 or 5 races and should only get better moving into this barn. I have to take a shot with him.

$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 4, 6 w/ 1, 4, 6 Cost $ 12.00

Race 9:

(6) CAIRONI can stalk or go but with the cut back and other speeds, Davis will look to sit chilly early and wait for them to back up coming for home. Irad shows up on the Wilkes filly (3) NOTA BENE. She likes to come fro out of it and the turf hasn’t been too kind to that style. But with a ton of speed entered, a collapse is expected. (4) BOXING DAY ships in and also likes to stalk. She faced better last time and almost pulled off the upset. She may have found an easier spot today. I will try the “other” Street Boss in here. (8) TUSCAN QUEEN took some time off after a tough campaign last year and returns to the scene of her best two races of her career. A maiden score won in hand and a fast closing Galway last year. Jose was on both of those runs and he returns today. Nice bullet on the 17th for this. I’m all in.

$ 7.00 WPS 8 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 6, 8 w/ 3, 4, 6, 8 Cost $ 18.00

Race 10:

Most will navigate to the Brown firster but I am not a fan of him putting them up for a tag. (8) FLOKI’S FLIGHT has speed in a race that lacks speed. If Jose can put them to sleep up front, they won’t be able to reel her in. (1) SMOKE AND HEAT will likely save ground from his rail draw and give Cancel a shot at his first W. Needs a perfect ride to get there. (6) PIVOTAL MISSION is my choice. He drops slightly after a non threatening 5th off a long layoff. Guessing he need that race and connection were eyeing a spot at the Spa. Both his prior races two years ago at the Saratoga would be good enough today. He gets L1 today which may explain his last race and I’m expect it’s now or never with this gelding today. Pletcher drops (5) GOOD MEDICINE and cuts back in distance. If this guy stays at 8:1ML, I might switch over to this guy.

$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 5, 6 w/ 1, 5, 6, 8 Cost $ 18.00
