We have 11 today on this first Saturday at Saratoga. We are back on the grass with the G1 Diana and two G3's; the Kelso and Sanford. I will be condensing my plays down to just the number and attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 6-8). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 9-11); GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $3.00 Early Double:

R1: 1, 3, 6

R2: 2, 5, 6
Cost: $27.00

Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:

R6: 2, 6, 9, 11

R7: 1, 3, 4, 7

R8: 9, 10, 11

Cost: $48.00

Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:

R9: 2, 8

R10: 1, 7, 9

R11: 4, 5, 11, 12

Cost: $ 24.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

Maiden fillies going long on the turf. Here's where the pedigree plays the biggest role as we rely on the past to predict the future. Isola ships to the US and Jose is interested to ride and she wants turf. We are on the inner turf course so Best Performance has time to use her speed to get good position goinf into the first turn. I'll include both in the mix but I'll look for (8) NO DELI to slice through the pack and get there in time. Mott is on fire this year and he uses Jr on many of his live runners. She wasn't that far from Best Performance after a bad break. She was wide the whole turn and lugged in several times threw the lane. I'm guessing Mott has worked out the kinks and comes loaded today.

$ 7.00 WPS 8 Cost: $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 1, 8, 11 Cost: $ 18.00

We’ll also use (8) No Deli in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.

(2) In Italian in the 4th.

$ 10.00 Daily Double 8 w/ 2 Cost $ 10.00

Race 5:

Another price caught my eye in this Alw NW1X for NY Breds. (4) NINETEEN OYSTERS made his debut back in February and posted a big number winning easy. He then tried to go long against some good 3yr olds and was up the track. He then went against older company and blew the break and made up ground but didn't threaten. Now, the other Chad, turns to Gaffalione with several bullet works under his belt and looks live to me. There is a lot of speed entered so look for this Gray to settle in the back and make one run turning for home.

$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost: $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex Box 1, 4, 5 Cost: $ 18.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 9:

I can't knock either of the favorties in this G3 Kelso. Pletcher used a Churchill stakes race as a public work out for (2) ANNAPOLIS to get him ready for this race. Irad didn't use him that much and measured the field to get up by a head. They should be geared up today and should be no worse than 2nd in here. The 7yr old (8) CASA CREED figures to be the main danger. He finished right behind Annapolis at Kee last year and it doesn't look like he has lost a step this year. There's speed signed on so the race sets both of them up for a showdown through the lane.

$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost: $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 2, 8 w/ 2, 4, 7, 8 Cost: $ 18.00

Race 10:

2yr olds colts take center stage and Asmussen brings a monster to the Spa. (9) GOLD SWEEP dominated last time in the Tremont and has the highest speed figure of this bunch. I'm not sure there was much behind him that day but he did it easy. He'll be odds on and a possible single for most. I'll use but this is Saratoga and nothing is certain up here. I'll try to beat him with another Bolt D'Oro that I am endorsing. (7) TRIPLE TREA ships in from Woodbine and attracts Saez. He was spinning his wheels until he angled out from the kickback and then came storming home. The outside post helps as Luis can sit chilly with all the speeds going at it and try to reel Gold Sweep in late.

$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost: $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 7, 9 w/ 1, 7, 8, 9 Cost: $ 18.00

Race 11:

Maidens close the show sprinting on the grass. The first two legs look chalky to me, so I'll spread a little here and try to catch a price. (12) BAIE LONGUE makes the cut back to 6F as this Pharoah has shown speed going long and Jr will likely put him on the engine today. adds L1 for this and is a player. (2) BEER RUN is from Ward and Johnny V takes the mount. The rail draw scares me though as they need to go from there or get shuffled back. He is a need the lead type so the first furlong will be key. (4) FLAT TOP BOX finished right behind Beer Run and has the advantage of breaking outside that runner. (5) NICKEL NICKEL will give his two cents through the lane. He's an Into Mischief out of a Calab's Posse mare. Fast should be his middle name. I want the "other" Pharoah in this finale. (11) AMERICAN KNOW HOW has been looking for turf and finally got it last time. It wasn't a clean trip but threw in the towel early in the stretch. I like the switch to Castallano and the outside post. He can sit and wait until Javier says go. The 5.5F probably is better for him.

$ 7.00 WPS 11 Cost: $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 5, 11 w/ 4, 5, 11, 12 Cost: $ 18.00
