Closing Day at Saratoga and we have a nice 12 race card today and plenty of opportunities to cash in some tickets. We are going to look to cover as many as we can in here and will be locked in to taking down some horizontal plays. I will be focused on taking down an "early" double (Races 1 & 2) and a Spot pick 3 (Races 7-9). Big Pete will have two of his "Plays of the Day" and close the card with the late pick 3 (Races 10-12). We appreciate you taking a look at our write-up and GOOD LUCK.

R12: 1, 2, 6, 7

Little Pete's "Early" Double:
Race 1
I landed on four in here with my top pick being the (7) Bode’s Girl. David Donk had a fantastic day yesterday and looks to have another New York bred horse on grass to impress on debut. (2) Striking Melody is a firster that I like the workouts coming in and should have some speed late to make it interesting. (5) Atomic Girl should get an aggressive ride in here under Rosario and should have plenty in the tank to handle this sprint. The last play will be (10) Luna’s Song who has been training well coming in and when Florent Geroux and Brad Cox line up in a race we need to take note.
$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 7,10 w/ 2,5,7,10 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 2,5 w/ 2,5,7,10 Cost: $6.00
Race 2:
I landed on three horses that have a race under their belt. (1) Mr. Marlin should improve second time out and the inside draw makes this horse even more appealing. (3) Uncle Marty should enjoy some moisture in the ground and have a much better showing this second time out. (6) Blame it on Daddy is going to be storming down the stretch under Luis Saez and should be a tough beat.
$3.00 Ex Box 1,3,6 Cost: $18.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3 :
(2) MOUILLAGE will take so cash as leading rider and trainer put a bow on the meet. He faced a solid G3 group back in March and has waited for this race. The 2:1 ML will be a gift as this field came up a little weak IMO.
(3) Dynadrive has back to back wins and (4) Winters Back exits a decent G1 attempt
$ 10.00 Exacta 2 w/ 3, 4 Cost $ 20.00
We’ll also use (2) Mouillage in R3 and try to cash a DAILY DOUBLE play.
We’ll use (7) Crosstalk and (12) Silken Dollar in the 4th.
$ 10.00 Double 2 w/ 7, 12 Cost $ 20.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 5 :
Most of the field wants or needs the lead. I’m expecting a hot pace and looking for a stalker to run them down. For me that’s (2) NEW YORK BANKER. She will get outrun here and it’s for the best. She can settle and come late. If any moisture, she won’t mind at all.
$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Exacta Box 2, 3, 6 Cost $ 18.00
We’ll also use (2) New York Banker in R5 and try to cash a DAILY DOUBLE play.
We’ll use (3) I’m Fine and (9) Stella Mars in the 6th.
$ 7.00 Double 2 w/ 3, 9 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 7:
I landed on (8) Sounds Spooky in here to run a huge effort first time out from the Pletcher barn. I think Irad will be aggressive from the break and this horse will be a tough beat in this sprint. (3) Arctic Arrogance has the pedigree and post position to find a late kick in here. We should anticipate this horse to sit right behind the pace and wait for the lane to open late. (7) Pagett is another horse I like. He's a Dailed In who likely drops back and waits for the stretch to run his race. My last play will be (10) Radio Red who is training extremely well in the mornings and has the early speed to be involved throughout. That is where I want a horse in a group of unproven racers.
$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 8,10 w. 3,7,8,10 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 3,7 w/ 3,7,8,10 Cost: $6.00
Race 8:
The two Pletchers look really good in here and I thought about only including them. (7) Portos has won at this distance and is taking a well-deserved step down in class. Irad gets the mount and only makes this choice easier for me. (9) Bal Harbour is going to love a soft ground and we should expect Luis Saez to seek the lead and look to not give it up. This horse is a very dangerous one in here and 8/1 will be a gift. (2) Air Attack will be my last play in here under Junior Alvarado who runs towards the front and should be able to find a lane late to attack the leaders. Junior is running extremely well and I trust him to fan out wide and run a big one late.
$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 2,7,9 Cost: $12.00
Race 9:
(1) Digital Software will be a very tough horses to beat in here and the most likely winner. (7) Splendid Summer ran a very good second against the favorite last time out and with a better trip will be a tough horse late. (10) I am the Law is coming into this one in good form and a very good price. Terranova has had a live barn this summer and Rosario sticking around is a bump. (11) Inflation Adjusted is lightly raced and fresh off a claim in the Linda Rice barn. Manny is going to be aggressive from the gate and have this horse involved throughout; that makes a difference late.
$3.00 WPS 11 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 1,11 w/ 1,7,10,11 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 7,10 w/ 1,7,10,11 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 10:
(6) BIG CITY MOMMA was getting there late but just ran out of ground in her last. The 1M feels right for this Quality Road and is worth the price. I’ll put her on top to try and beat the two Uncle Mo’s. (1) COCKTAIL MOMENTS might go off the favorite as she has ben dancing with some G1 company. Jr gets the mount as she has some high speed figures that match up well at this level(5) SHALIMAR GARDENS has speed and will most likely stalk and get first jump on the closers. She has found her form in the last three races and will be a handful today.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 5, 6 w/ 1, 5, 6, 7 Cost $ 18.00
Race 11:
(4) GULFPORT didn’t win last time but the ride was troubled by both horse and rider. The connections switch to Prat and I’m expecting this guy to get back on track with his impressive wins prior to the Saratoga Special. (6) BLAZING SEVENS is the only other one that I’m interested in. It wasn’t a fast time but it was how he did it in his debut. This Good Magic should stetch out nicely and there is speed in front of him. It’s a big step up for this maiden breaker but it’s Brown and Franco who have been getting it done.
$ 20.00 Ex 4 w/ 6 Cost $ 20.00
$ 5.00 Ex 6, w/ 4 Cost $ 5.00
Race 12:
(2) TOSCONOVA BEAUTY has the speed to control this early. She picks up Johnny V and he’ll need to save some energy for later. (6) RIBOT’S VALENTINE is a maiden winner trying winners for the first time. If she can Re-Pete her last, there’s no reason for her to get to the wire first. I want (7) FANCY FELINE in this spot. The 6F works best for her and there is speed inside and outside of her. Saez will let them go at it and reap the benefits later. (1) CUPID’S HEART is the other one that I like on top. She has been away for a while but the works are sharp and she gets L1 today. If she finds her debut form, she’ll be tough against this group.
