Fast and firm once again for this Friday edition from the Spa. I will be condensing my plays down to just the number and attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 5-7). Big Pete will attack two "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 8-10); GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

Weaver is having a meet hitting the board at 50%. He sends out (2) BISCLAVRET who figures to save ground from the inside draw and avoid traffic going into the first turn. Manny will muscle his way to position and let her loose turning for home. The Arch influence underneath makes this 8.5F route an easy get for this filly.

We'll use (2) Bisclavret in R3 and try to cash in on a Daily Double.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 8:

(6) MAGGIE GO figures to draw a lot of attention as she was the talk down in Monmouth last time, but maybe she was beaten by her stablemate (2) WHISKEY DECISION that day. Maybe they were pointed to this Ballston Spa and just needed one. She looms large today with the favorite coming out. (7) OCEAN CLUB is the speed and picks up a hot rider. (9) DEEP SATIN is the other danger who is 2 for 2 at the Spa.

Race 9:

(2) CONSIDER IT DONE threw in the towel when facing better last time, but Rice re-evaluated and put him where he belongs today. I'm guessing he bounces back with a solid effort. (6) UNCLE JIM is where I landed. He's been posting good speed figures until he was outclassed last time. They too drop him, looking for a Spa win for the owners. (4) THREE B'S is fresh off the claim and has previous speed figures that make him a player.

Race 10:

(3) JOHNY'S RENDEZVOUS was game last time at Ellis and ships in in good form. (4) FAVORABLE SCENARIO moves to the turf for Brown. This usually works out well for these connections. A must-use for me. (8) WICKED IMPROBABLE has a race under his belt here, and the speed figure was decent. He'll be much shorter odds this time out. I want to try the rail runner (1) SNARE taking these colts all the way. They stretch him out finally and draw the cozy rail. If he can clear off and save ground, he could prove tough to catch with the added distance.
