We made it to Friday and we have a stacked 10 race card today at Saratoga. I will be condensing my plays down to just the number and be attacking the early double (Race 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 5-7). Big Pete will be looking to take down a pair of his "Plays of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 8-10). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK
Little Pete's $ 2.00 Early Double:
R1: 1, 3, 5, 6
R2: 2, 6
Cost: $16.00
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R5: 2, 4, 7, 8
R6: 1, 2, 6, 7
R7: 2, 3, 10
Cost: $ 48.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R8: 1, 5, 6
R9: 1, 3, 5, 6
R10: 5, 6, 7, 11
Cost: $ 48.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
Speed will be on display for this Morrissey Sprint as the favorite, NY Traffic and the three from the rail out, will all want a part of that lead. That is why I want the stalker/closer (4) MY BOY TATE to come late and spoil the party. He wanted no part of the 1M distance last time as the 6F is much better for him. He’s 8 years old and may be tailing off slightly so the speed needs to back up for him to get there.
We’ll use (1) Saint Selby and (6) NY Traffic to hang on for 2nd.
$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 4 w/ 1, 6 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use (4) My Boy Tate in R3 and try to crash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
Both the (5) Tapple Cider and (10) Quiet Type look solid in the 4th
$ 7.00 Double 4 w/ 5, 10 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 4:
(5) TAPPLE CIDER did not have the cleanest of trips last time and Davis wants another crack at it. She steadied going into the turn and then ran up on the heals of Jannie Mae which took her out of getting the place that day. Better post should help her get better position going around the turns and come late.
We’ll use the (8) Jannie Mae and (10) Quiet Type underneath.
$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 5 w/ 8, 10 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
(5) TIERGAN dominated a weak field last time but will need to step it up in here. His speed figure tops everyone in here and a Re-Pete of that will make him tough to beat.(6) MARKET ALERT woke up last month winning the Saginaw. Prior to that he’s been facing open company and holding his own. He meets fellow NY Breds again.
(1) BANKIT has been butting heads with better than average company his entire career and always shows up. The 1M seems to be his best distance and gets a rider switch to Rosario. Asmussen gave him some time off and should have him ready to roll today
$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 1, 6 w/ 1, 4, 5, 6 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
(3) COOLCATSNKITTENS drops back down to this 40k for some relief. She has the highest speed figure of the bunch and will be tough to handle in she Re-Pete her effort from two back. (6) SARAH’S SPLENDER also takes a drop in class and a cutback to 5.5F. She will let the speeds go at it and come with her run late. I can’t get past (5) ELI DANCER in this sprint. She’ll be short odds with Irad staying put and they drop in for a tag. She’s bred to handle the turf and gets L1 today. I lot to like there. (1) SMOKIN HOT KITTY is improving every time out and runs for a different barn today with stable rider up.
$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 1, 5 w/ 1, 3, 5, 6 Cost $ 18.00
Race 10:
(11) SHE’S A MIA will get bet as she just missed in a minor stakes race last time. She beat several of these in here but does like 2nd though so I’ll use but try to beat her. (5) DUFRESNE tried two turns for this first time in that race and did well to get the show. I think Johnny V will get aggressive with her and try the front in this shorter race (6) CLASSIC LYNNE was making a move on the rail and then stopped gaining suddenly. She may have had an issue as L1 is being used today. With the addition of Saez as well, this girl looks primed for a big performance. I’m all in. The main danger to me will be from (7) WATERVILLE. She returned in April after two attempts at the Spa last year. She came up a little short but managed to beat the rest of the field by many lengths in that return. Clement holds a pair of aces in this finale.
