The final day at the Spa is upon us and have to admit it is bitter sweet. We were extremely lucky to have the meet continuously run without interruption and had the same level of competition/excitement we are accustomed too. The day is not void drama, though. We have the Ortiz brothers tied on top of the jockey's standings and the one who wins the most on the card today will be crowned champ. The trainer's standings is relatively close, but Chad Brown has to have a huge day. He is currently down 5 wins to the current leader, Todd Pletcher. With that being all said, we are going to remain consistent in our plays and focus on a pair of pick 3 plays. These plays will cover the PK6 sequence; which we anticipate to be partaking in on this mandatory payout day. To close, we truly appreciate all of the people who took the time to read any of our blogs. We had an absolute blast doing it and look forward to continuing to improve and pump out winners. GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 9:

This is going to be a competitive sequence where I had to take some stands on horses. I really think any of the horses in post positions 3-9 could win this one, especially it being a two year old race. I will narrow it down to my top 3 horses in here. Bill Mott looks to have a future player in here with the (3) Speaker's Corner and when he has a horse to look out for, you have to play it. (8) Outlier has to improve from first time out and I think Asmussen has this horse ready to perform. They had this horse practice from the gate and we should expect a much better performance today from him. My last play will be (7) Ten for Ten which is going to be my top selection in here. Two bullet workouts leading in and I love the Frosted lineage. I think this horse will be live first time out and we should expect Jose Ortiz to have this horse towards the front immediately from break.

$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex Box 3,7,8 Cost: $12.00

Race 10:

I landed on four horses in here. (5) Maximiliano is going to be sent to the early lead and I think Jose Ortiz has enough underneath him to wire this field. I also like (1) Ima Pharoah to engage in an early battle with the leader and this horse looks to be live in here after finally breaking his maiden last time out. (2) Cucina is a horse that is moving back to dirt and ran well against better, so with that combo I think this horse has a late charge to try and take this one. My last and TOP play is going to be the outside horse in (9) The Big S. I think this race is shouting for a closer off the pace and I think Rosario will have this horse a couple lengths back around the turn and come with a convincing stretch drive.

$3.00 WPS 9 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 5,9 w/ 1,2,5,9 Cost: $12.00

Race 11:

I am going to close the ticket on five horses in here as I think this is going to be a tough race to predict. (10) Scanno is a horse I really like in this spot and expect Saez to do what he does from the gate and that is find the early lead. This horse will be able to save ground throughout and if not challenged then he will be a tough beat late. (1) Mystery Bank is another horse I like to be forwardly placed in here. This horse has proven that he can handle the distance and Jose Ortiz will have to pick and choose when this horse is let free; which I trust him to do. (2) Quarterback Dak has shown the late drive down the stretch and if the fractions are fast, then this horse is extremely dangerous late. (6) Mr. Kringle is what seems to be the class in here and if he runs to that ability then this horse will be a dangerous horse. My last play will be the horse fresh off the claim with Bruce Brown (9) Elusive Ruler. I actually am expecting a big ride in here from this horse who I expect to be instructed to be forwardly placed and I think this horse has a good chance of sustaining a big run throughout.

$3.00 WPS 10 Cost: $9.00

$1.00 Ex 1,2,10 w/ 1,2,6,9,10 Cost: $12.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 12:

(1A) MYAMANOI started his career here but ran into Structor. Then followed that with big maiden score and just missed against Field Pass. Now returns to the turf where he belongs and cuts back to 1M distance. Sounds like a winning move for this Gargan colt. The other I like on top is (8) SUCCEEDANDSURPASS has worked himself back in shape with two decent runs this summer. Now switches to Jose who is battling for the title. He will be coming home the fastest through the stretch. We’ll use Brown’s runner (3) LONESOME FUGITIVE as he’s made steady progress in his young career and gets Irad. (7) PROVEN STRATEGIES has had many chances at this level, but none of them with Luis. He makes horses look better than they are.

$7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 1,8 w/ 1,3,7,8 Cost: $18.00

Race 13:

Next years Derby runners square off in the Hopeful. (3) MUTSAABEQ starts the conversation as he dusted his rivals earlier this month and now Pletcher gets to stretch him out to 7F. Steady works and that gut Luis up again, makes this colt a tough customer. (5) REINVESTMENT RISK wowed everybody last time and will look to Re-Pete that effort again. He maintained a steady work tab so he looks to have come out of that race ok. Short price but a must use. The other chalk (6) JACKIE’S WARRIOR is fast. Rosario will gun him and make them try to catch him. If left alone, he shouldn’t back up.

$7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 3,5 w/ 3,5,6 Cost: $12.00

Race 14:

I’ll use four in here but I’ll focus on the two droping in class. Weaver has struggled this meet and needs to pay bills. He sends out (9) MOHJESTIC after a decent run earlier this year down south. They attract Jose so there might be something there. We’ll put on top with the other Jose, (2) STARE DECISIS. He too drops and Abreu has done very well here. They cut back in distance and look strong as a win candidate. (8) SIR CHUBBY is interesting here. He sprinted twice while here and came running both times. This Tiznow prefers going longer so he gets his shot today. We’ll include firster (10) INAPPROPRIATE as this guy is bred top & bottom to go long on the turf. That puts a bow on the Spa meet. Let’s cash this ticket and move on to Belmont.

$7.00 WPS 2 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 2,9 w/ 2,8,9,10 Cost: $18.00
