We have ourselves another ten race card at Saratoga; which is headlined by the Union Avenue in the ninth. We are going to remain consistent with our plays after Big Pete was able to hit his and add to the bankroll. I did a lot of inward reflection last night to get prepped for today's card, and I am ready to get hot. I will be focusing in on races 5-7, while Big Pete will be focusing in on races 8-10. We will also have our "Play of the Day" to give out a play we will be playing to try and maximize in a race vertically. Make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to receive notification of new blog posts and a weekly blog email. GOOD LUCK.

Race 3:
This is going to be a highly competitive race in my opinion and I always like to play a race where I do not particularly love the Chad Brown entry. I love the redemption story on (4) Lost Ticket who lost to (1) Olendon last time out at this distance and has vengeance on the brain. (4) Lost Ticket has a bullet workout coming in and Bill Mott will instruct Johnnie V to forwardly place this horse and let the horse run this field down the field down the stretch. There is plenty of speed in here, so the horse with the most stamina is my most likely winner; which bodes well for my play.
$5.00 WPS 4 Cost: $15.00
$2.00 Ex 4 w/ 1,2,5,7,8 Cost: $10.00

Race 4:
(4) FIRST RATE has had a little more time to adapt to life away from Gulfstream. He woke up switching from grass to dirt and has improved each start. Irad may have fell asleep last time when getting beat by Blue Moon and will look for revenge today. I’ll look for (2) BLUE MOON to run his similar race as last time but, have to settle for 2nd. (3) BOBBYFROMTHEPALM has come alive in his last two races and is fresh off the Brown claim and moves up. I’ll use both underneath.
$10.00 Ex 4 w/ 2,3 Cost: $20.00

Race 5:
I am not seeing much speed entered in to this one, especially with the scratches of (1) Tuck In and (10) Hey It's Tati. This makes me lean towards the morning line favorite, (12) Dream Chasing, who found the lead early last time out and was edged out down the stretch. The same ride in that one should be able to have this horse graduate. Another horse that caught my eye after the scratches is (7) Frenchie Fou Fou who has been a step slow in each of her three starts, but going off of the workout leading in I think this horse is finding her footing. With a clean break I think this horse is a much bigger threat than the morning line 6/1. (2) New York Supreme is dropping in class and switching surfaces, which I actually think helps this filly. Luis Saez is an aggressive rider and this race is screaming to be a jockey's race. (6) She So Naughty is another horse trying the surface here for the first time and will look to be forwardly placed in this one. If she takes well to the turf, she could have enough stamina left to compete for the win here. (8) Big Red Girl has shown closing ability on grass in a previous race and this field is asking to be passed late; Rosario is the perfect rider to try and get this done. My last play is going to be a firster who I think has the pedigree to win first time out on grass. (4) Prairie Tales is sired from Forty Tales who is sending out two year old winners on turf sprints. If this horse runs to the pedigree, then I think we may have a first leg price here.
$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00
$1.00 Ex 2,7,12 w/ 2,4,6,7,8,12 Cost: $15.00
Race 6:
A short five horse field in this one, where I believe (1) Risky Mandate is the horse to beat. This horse has faced better recently and ran extremely well. This horse is stretching out for the first time in her career to the mile and an 1/8th distance, but I think she handles it extremely well. With that being said, I am going to include the morning line favorite (5) Off Topic. Todd Pletcher is the current meets leader and continues to be sending out horses in great form. I am throwing out this horses last time out and anticipate a big run from this horse. As tempting as it is to include the three others in here, I really like the (1) Risky Mandate to get it done and feel comfortable with (5) Off Topic to be up there as well in case the inside horse decides she does not like the stretch out.
$5.00 WPS 1 Cost: $15.00
$2.00 Ex 1,5 w/ 1,2,3,4,5 Cost: $16.00
Race 7:
(2) Thin White Duke is the only horse with experience that I would include to close out the ticket. This horse has last the last two times out being the favorite, but has been competitive in those races hitting the board. This horse is a must play on your ticket. But, maiden special weights are highly competitive and I think there is a group of firsters in here who have a chance to win first time out. (3) It's a Gamble is coming out from the Kelly Breen barn who does have firsters ready to win first time out and gets Rosario to ride; which all is a good sign to me. (7) Daggerboard has been training lights out recently and Brad Cox also does have horses ready to win first time out, so will get included. (8) I'm Blaming You may be coming in from a cold barn from Doug O'Niel, but if there is one thing that Mr. O'Neil does it shine on turf sprints. This horse looks to be fast and speed is the name of the game, so will include. My last play is going to be (10) Chulainn who gets Jose Ortiz aboard and coming in from the Graham Motion barn who has been training well and the outside post should allow this horse to break clean from traffic and find the front.
$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00
$1.00 Ex 2,3,7 w/ 2,3,7,8,10 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
Rudy is having a decent meet and is trying to get his money back with the recently claimed (6) BRAY. He dropped to beat NW2L and now moves back to where he belongs. Irad takes over and will try to duplicate that race. The Mott runner (5) BATTALION shipped in from Florida and ran big after a slight mishap at the start. Johnny V stays as this one posted the fastest last race of the bunch. A Re-Pete puts him in the winners circle. (3) MANDATE was 2nd to Bray two back, then this Blame returned to post a strong win with Jose up. We’ll use these three to get this late Pk3 started.
$7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 5,6 w/ 3,5,6 Cost: $12.00
Race 9:
(6) NEWLY MINTED as yet to run a bad race and comes into this off a sharp 2nd facing better. Got to the front and got caught by a tough Crimson Frost. Lezcano will likely stay close early and take control coming into the stretch. Nice post for this 7F sprint. We’ll look for two closers to come late and grab a piece. (3) MRS ORB just missed catching the rail favorite last time and may have a little help catching them today as other speeds are entered. Davis likely uses the same tactic in hopes that the speed backs up. The other closer I’ll look for through the stretch is (4) COLLEGEVILLE GIRL. She beat some decent allowance runners at Parx last time and Manny will look to stalk and pounce late. At least two of her prior races, on her resume, make her dangerous if she can duplicate.
$7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 3,6 w/ 3,4,6 Cost: $12.00
Race 10:
I’ll include five runners here to close it out but they don’t include Brown or Pletcher. The one I’m interested in the most is (12) PURE BODE. She ran evenly throughout her 6F debut. Now this Bodemeister gets to stretch out a little more which should fit her just fine. (4) TWO CENT TOOTSIE gets the hot riding Saez as Jose takes the nightcap off. She has handle herself in all three of her turf starts and we’re expecting the same here. We’ll also include (5) MASTEROF THE TUNES on the switch to grass and (11) SAINTE MERE EGLISE who needed her last after being away for a year. (1) DANCING KIKI has had many tries but turf seems to fit her the best. She may have found the right distance and worth a second look.
