We have been lucky to have the Saratoga meet running so efficiently and giving us a bit of normalcy during these tough times. Yes, we do wish we could be there live to enjoy the full experience of the Spa, but we can't be greedy. We had a nice second weekend and look to start this week off with a bang. We are going to remain focused on hitting a pair of pick 3 plays, as well as starting to provide our "Plays of the Day." Big Pete was a little busy this morning for the "Play of the Day," so I guess I will be the only one providing winners. I will be keying in on races 5-7, and Big Pete will be keying in on races 8-10. R5: 1, 4, 6

R6: 1, 3, 5, 6, 7

R7: 4, 10

Cost: $30.00

Big Pete's $1.00 Late Pick 3:

R8: 3, 7, 8

R9: 7, 8

R10: 1, 4, 6, 9

Cost: $24.00

Little Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

This race is screaming for a price and I landed on (10) Gea. I think this horse will enjoy being on the outside post and be able to break without congestion and slowly work her way in to this race. I like the chance of fast fractions with jockeys working their way to the front in this turf race. I think (10) Gea is going to be a nice price on the board with the presence of some decent horses in here that will collect some money.

$4.00 WPS 10 Cost: $12.00

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 5:

I only landed on three horses in this one and we all expect two of these horses to be very low prices in here. I didn't like (3) Love and Love in this spot here, so a little upset that she is being scratched out of here to possibly take some money here. The two logical horses in here are the ones who ran second and third in the Mt. Vernon last time out; (1) War Canoe and (4) Classic Lady. They have everything you could possibly want with connections and pedigree, so leaving them off the ticket in this one is just asking for a first leg loss. With that said, there was one other horse in here that did catch my eye. (6) Niko's Dream is going to get some early speed in this one and has shown the late kick ability. I think the move back to Junior Alvarado and his experience aboard this horse will only help. This horse has ran well at Saratoga and the sign that Barclay Tagg is moving this horse back to a stakes crowd after dropping to a tag race is a good sign to me.

$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex Box 1,4,6 Cost: $12.00

Race 6:

This is going to be a highly competitive claiming race here with any one of these horses having a chance to win this one. With that said I landed on five of them to include on the ticket. (7) Creative Style is going to be my top selection here with his closing ability. I think that the early pace will tire some horses out late and I think this horse is going to have the most left at the end. (3) Pete's Play Call is a no brainer and shout out us, with the connections and a helluva name. (1A) Topper T was a horse I liked last time out and should have a similar trip as last time with the early fractions I am anticipating. (5) American Power has been nothing but consistent in their career and this looks like a vulnerable field and could hit the wire first. (6) TheBigFundamental is what they called Big Pete on the basketball court, and gets the class and distance relief to make this horse a very dangerous horse in here.

$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00

$1.00 Ex 1,3,6,7 w/ 1,3,5,6,7 Cost: $16.00

Race 7:

As much as I want to beat (4) Sayaaf I just don't this field is set up to do it. I think there are too many horses in here that run a similar race to (4) Sayaaf and will fall out of the race relatively early because of the weaker class. I do not want to single on my last leg so looked to the outside for some support in the (10) Kitten's Cat. This horse is first time out from the claim from Linda Rice and has shown the ability to beat winner's and close well late at a similar distance. If everyone shoots for the lead early, this could make this horse a dangerous one down the stretch.

$10.00 Ex 4 w/ 10 Cost: $10.00

$5.00 Ex 10 w/ 4 Cost: $5.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 8:

Big advantage for (2) BEBE BANKER as this race is void of speed. Saez will be tough to catch if allowed to control from the start. His main danger is (8) DANNY CALIFORNIA. This is where I landed as this distance fits him much better than Bebe. He’ll sit mid pack and wait for Rosario’s queue to close the gap on the front runner. (7) DANCERS FOR TOKEN is the outsider with the best chance of coming late to the party. A Re-Pete of his maiden win two back would make this Big Brown Gelding a strong candidate for the win slot.

$7.00 WPS 8 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 7,8 w/ 2,7,8 Cost: $12.00

Race 9:

It’s hard to leave out (8) DEVAMANI and Brown here. He’s been facing some good ones lately and looks to be a solid favorite. The shorter distance probably works in his favor so I’ll use on top and concede the low price. (3) GIDU will go as fast as he can for as long as he can. Saez again on the front end will try to grab a breather and lose them on the turn. Has yet to prove he can go this far but can hold on for 2nd. It’s setting up as a chalky exacta as (7) BREAKING THE RULES returned last month with an easy win against lesser and now looks poised for a big 2020 campaign. He is the main danger to the fav and he gets Johnny V up again. I’ll just use these two horizontally.

$10.00 Ex 8 w/ 3,7 Cost: $20.00

$3.00 Ex 7 w/ 3,8 Cost: $6.00

Race 10:

A nice MSW sprint on the grass to close the card. The three favorites will be the main attractions but I’ll try to beat them with the Pharoah firster (9) ZERO TO SIXTY. Her two Spa works look to be all business for Stall. A breeze 10 days ago followed by a quick gate work. Lezcano will likely sit and watch everything happen to his left, then let her loose coming out of the stretch. (1) ZACCAPA looks faster than her stable mate but having both sweetens the pot. The cut back to 5.5F will make Zaccapa the horse to beat. Ward sends out (4) SEQUIN. Makes her 2020 debut after burning a lot of cash last year. Seems like now or never with this one as Gaff returns. Brown has (6) SPECTACULARSUNRISE and some breeding to boot. The distance may be an issue but I wouldn’t leave them off my ticket.

$7.00 WPS 9 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 1,9 w/ 1,4,6,9 Cost: $18.00
