We have some racing in NY on a Wednesday! We are going to remain consistent in our plays and key in on a pair of pick 3 plays. I will be focusing in on races 5-7, and Big Pete will be focusing in on races 8-10. We will have vertical plays in each of those races to hedge our tickets as well. We are looking to carry over some momentum from the Sunday hits we had, and honestly are feeling ourselves a bit (This sport humbles quickly). Make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to receive notifications of new blog posts and a weekly blog sent directly to your email. GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
The first leg of this pick 3 is set up to be a single for me. The class drop for (8) Maxwell Esquire should make this horse much the best in this one. He also is getting early pressers to get some early fractions, to set him up for a great stretch drive. I like (2) Crack Shot and (4) Three Jokers in here with their speed and it being a sprint makes speed very dangerous, but I just think they are running in to a better horse here. I will be making a stand here, so props to me.
$5.00 Ex 8 w/ 2,4 Cost: $10.00
Race 6:
With the scratch of (3) Eye Luv Lulu it really opens up this field for me in this claiming race. I do not trust many in here, so going to have to spread out a lot to make sure I feel comfortable. I really like (4) O Shea Can U See in this spot to have the best sustained run and close on the field late. (2) Bronx Bomber is also another interesting play here for me. I like that we are getting some weight relief and this horse does like to shoot to the front early. With this being a claiming field, that could mean this horse isn't challenged early and able to save some energy around the turn and be a tough catch. (6) Durkin's Call is dropping to claiming fields and should be live in this one, and do not want to lose to Bill Mott and Johnny V. (7) Just Right is the unknown horse in this one with almost a year between starts and dropping in to a claiming field. This horse has the pedigree and trainer to win this one, so will include just in case. (8) Summer Bourbon I think will be the favorite come post time and I have included most of the field anyway, so why not? I personally do not love this horse here, but has the ability to get it done. (9) Thesis is fresh off the claim for Linda Rice and has had some extra care in the barn in between starts. I think this horse will be a strong play here with Jose Ortiz aboard.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$1.00 Ex 4,6,9 w/ 2,4,6,7,8,9 Cost: $15.00
Race 7:
Our morning line favorite, (1) Madison Parc, has traveled a bit in her short career so far and has yet to hit the board. She has ran in to some competitive horses and ran well, but there is no way I feel comfortable leaving this horse alone on the ticket. I again am going to spread out here in the final leg of the PK3 and hope we can catch a price. I like the stretch out for (3) Running on Entry and should improve on her third career start. (4) Two Cent Tootsie has the jockey and the speed to be sent to the early lead here. I think this horse will be able to sustain a big run and have enough left in the tank to compete late for the win. (6) Gaelic Gold has the connections of Rosario/Clement who have been nothing short of great, especially on grass. Rosario has the horse to fit his running style, so will include if everything shapes up for a closer. (9) Kept Waiting is exiting the same race as (4) Two Cent Tootsie and I think with some improvement second time out we will see a better late kick from this horse and could get it done at a price. I am not sure what to make of (10) Sainte Mere Eglise who hasn't raced in 11 months, but gets Irad aboard in this MSW and going to include in case this horse is live first time out from that layoff. (12) Crescent Lady is also a horse that is exiting the same race as the (4) and (9), and has been nothing but consistent in her short career; maybe this horse is ready to graduate this time out? My last play will be the (14) Micromillion who gets the green light to run in this one with the morning scratches. I think the surface switch will set up well for this horse who will get to a stalking position right from the start and that is the place to be right now.
$5.00 WPS 4 Cost: $15.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
Turf seems to be the right surface for (4) SMILE BRYAN. A win and a place in both starts. Jose made it look easy last time and doesn’t climb that far up in class. A Re-Pete may be enough here. Brown has a couple in here that we’ll include as he is off to a great start. (6) LA HARA is 2 for 2 and bred to run all day. Likely favorite and winner if ready. (8) JUNKANOO is interesting at much better odds than his stable mate. If the rain holds off, I like the fact that he may get firm turf for this Scat Daddy. Beat some quality runners back in 2018 so if he’s anywhere close to that form, he may be a handful.
$7.00 WPS 8 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 6,8 w/ 4,6,8 Cost:$12.00
Race 9:
(3) SHARP STARR is the lightly raced filly with the best number going long. She faces winners for the first time but isn’t meeting anything special here. The extra furlong will be to her advantage. The main danger will be (8) SINGULAR SENSATION, every little step she takes. She too is long winded and just missed in this similar race last year. Both are deserving favorites but I’m taking a shot with (4) LEM ME HAVE IT. If the top two hook up, this gal will be the beneficiary. She was right behind Singular last time and this Frost Giant won’t mind the extra furlong as well. The switch to Javier is just icing on the cake to score at a decent price. (6) PRINCESS PINKY exits that same race and may stick around for a piece.
$7.00 WPS 4 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 3,4 w/ 3,4,6,8 Cost: $18.00
Race 10:
We’ll spread out to close this Pk3 as I can’t land on one with much confidence with this group of MCL. (14) MOPOLKA has burned some money in his last two and now could be double digit odds. I think Martin wants this filly in front early so he summons Carmouche to get aboard. If she clears, Uncle Mo will take her the rest of the way. (12) CHOOSE HAPPINESS looks well spotted by Mott as he drops her to 25K. Johnny V has been on some live Mott runners lately and we may be looking at another one here. (5) CENTRAL PERK also drops. Keep an eye on Sharp Starr’s run in the race prior to help evaluate “Perks” chances here. I’ll include (7) GRINGOTTS and (11) CRICK as both will be coming late.
