We are quickly approaching the end of the Saratoga meet, but still have plenty of opportunities to cash some tickets. We will be spreading out our plays to cover all of the races today. I will be attacking the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 that starts the pick 6 sequence (Races 5-7). Big Pete will have a pair of "Plays of the Day" as well as the late pick 3 (Races 8-10). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:

Cost: $48.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:

R11: 4, 7, 8, 9
Cost: $48.00
Little Pete's $2.00 Early Double:
Race 1:
I think speed early is going to win this race, so forced to play (1) Moonachie and (2) High Heater in here. Both have favorable post positions and will be looking to shoot to the lead from the break. I trust both of these jockeys to battle it out and the most likely winner will come from either of these two. The outside horse I like is (4) Full Salute who has shown speed in previous races and may be on the decline, but has a nice workout coming in and the favorites do not scream unbeatable. I think this horse will have a nice stretch drive at a nice price to make this one interesting.
$3.00 Ex Box 1,2,4 Cost: $18.00
Race 2:
(10) Everesting is going to have directions to find the front and not look back. Tyler is riding extremely well and will do just that with this horse. I think the field will be playing catch up late and in this sprint I always like a horse involved. (9) Charleston Strong is going to be aggressive from the jump as well and getting Saez choosing to ride this one is another angle to play. (8) Rogers Ginger is a Rudy Rodriguez I really do like in this spot. I think Rudy will have this horse prepped for this debut and Irad will work the trip in here. My last play is (5) Uncle Mo's Cat who gets Jose Ortiz in here and will be closing strongly late. I think this horse will benefit from the better post position than the horses mentioned and that pays off late.
$3.00 WPS 10 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 5,10 w/ 5,8,9,10 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 8,9 w/ 5,8,9,10 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
Brown has two in this short field of 6. All eyes will be on (1A) Sacred Life has he exits G2 & G3 runs recently. I like the other one, (4) ANALYZE IT a little more. He only raced twice last year and has come off a layoff to race twice this year. He most likely had some issue but if his last race is any indication, he may be back. A solid second to his stable mate and beat Therapist who just missed the West Point on Friday. The old Analyze It would dominate this bunch and we’re looking for that guy to emerge here
(1A) Sacred Life and (2) Breaking The Rules to close in late for the Exacta
$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 4 w/ 1, 2 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Analyze It in R3 and try to crash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
Both (2) Perfect Munnings and (5) Daddy Knows look solid in the 4th
$ 7.00 Double 4 w/ 2, 5 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 4:
(2) PERFECT MUNNINGS returns from a vacation as something wasn’t right in his last two. He now gets L1 so maybe there was a breathing issue?? I’ll trust Pletcher figured it out as he calls on Saez to help the cause. The 7F seems to be “Perfect” for this “Munning” colt.
$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 2 w/ 4, 5 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
I think Tyler Gaffalione is going to have a multi-win day today and gets it done aboard (2) MommasGottaRun. This horse had an impressive debut on the lead and was passed late down the stretch and comes into this one training extremely well. The post position will allow this horse to find the rail and be forwardly placed throughout and I think that makes a difference late down the stretch. (7) A Mo Reay from the Pletcher barn looks fantastic on paper in here. This horse is getting dirt first time out which makes me believe we got ourselves a runner in here and a must play. (9) Rosebug is the American Pharaoh play who should be strong late and I think will be impressive on debut. My last play will be (10) DistinctlyPossible who is from the Chad Brown barn and they are heating up. They had an impressive two year old run yesterday and today could be more of the same.
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 2,7 w/ 2,7,9,10 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 9,10 w/ 2,7,9,10 Cost: $6.00
Race 6:
This is going to be a tough race to handicap and will be tight late. I really like (6) Bali Belle in here to improve from the debut and close strongly on a firm surface. (4) Kinchen has the favorable post position and Tyler should be looking to save ground throughout and let the horse run strongly late. (7) Pearl Earring is training lights out and I think will be involved early and have enough late to make it interesting. (10) Vagaries gets Irad in here and he is heating up on grass. This horse is going to get a perfect trip from the outside and looks to be a good one.
$3.00 WPS 10 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 4,10 w/ 4,6,7,10 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 6,7 w/ 4,6,7,10 Cost: $6.00
Race 7:
(5) Montuak Daddy and (7) Determined Fury are two horses exiting the same race with Christopher who ran a big race yesterday. I think these two horses are live in here and warranted a play. I also really like (12) Charlie Five O to the outside getting his best footing late down the stretch. I trust Tyler to find the lane late and make this extremely interesting late.
$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00
$3.00 Ex Box 5,7,12 Cost: $18.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
We’ll start with the likely favorite (2) BEAU LIAM. He’s 2 for 2 and has more upside than this bunch as he meets many runners stuck at this level for some time. If he runs his previous races, that should be enough. We won’t single because has jumps up in class and should face some pressure all the way around. I’ll try to beat him with (6) YODEL E A WHO. He was claimed two back and may needed a race to adjust to a new barn as he returned quickly without an published work. There are several races in his pp’s that make him dangerous in here. If Manny can find one those, we’re in business. (1) AMUNDSON Woke up and beat NW2X state breds last time. That’s not far from this class level so he should be competitive today. Jose returns which is always a good thing.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 1, 6 w/ 1, 2, 6, 9 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
(6) IN EFFECT exits the G2 Hall Of Fame where he rallied for 3rd. He was behind horses for most of the stretch idling at times. Hen he got clear he closed well with out being asked as he wasn’t catching the leaders. Clear sailing today gets the job done. (7) STRAW INTO GOLD did well against Public Sector and Original in the Manila but took a step back against NY Breds next time out. I’ll use defensively. (8) SIFTING SANDS has improved each time out in four starts. She’s well bred and comes from Brown’s barn. Manny has been riding well lately which makes this colt very dangerous.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 6, 8 w/ 1, 6, 7, 8 Cost $ 18.00
Race 10:
I’m thinking we may find (7) JARREAU on the lead today as the race lacks speed. If no one goes, he may be tough to catch. (4) GIRL DAD is the one I want. He got on track too late last time against some of these and now picks up Saez. He figures to save some ground and tip out for the drive home. I’m all in. (8) MADE MY DAY has been close at times but has trouble hitting the win or place. Third time off the layoff and Tyler gets the re-ride. The price makes this guy attractive. (9) LANDBISCUIT got to the front close to home in his first attempt against winners. He may have timed it wrong but probably learned a lot. Works say this guy will be right there again today.
