Sunday racing at the Spa and we are covering the entire card! I will be locked in to the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 that starts the pick 6 sequence (Races 5-7). Big Pete will be locked in to a couple of "Plays of the Day" and take down the late pick 3 (Races 8-10). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $2.00 Early Double:
Race 1:
(3) Time For Cupid is the horse to beat in here and should have broken her maiden first time out but was DQ'd for drifting. This horse will improve from that effort and be a really tough beat in here in a field of potentials. (4) Dover Dreams is training lights out coming into this one and this horse should show plenty of speed early in here. I expect Jose to place this horse right behind the lead and allow this horse to find her footing and find the right lane to run late. (5) Four Dawn is also a horse I like to improve second time out and Luis Saez is just too good right now to leave off a ticket. This horse is training well and should be in the action throughout. My last play will be (6) Goddess of Fire who is coming in from the Pletcher barn and he has had some impressive two year olds to date. It is definitely recency bias, but My Prankster yesterday was just too good to not think he is stocked up with great horses.
$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 3,6 w/ 3,4,5,6 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 4,5 w/ 3,4,5,6 Cost: $6.00
Race 2:
The two Clement horses look great on paper and I will be including both. This just feels like a race that (1) Highly Devauxted is on the lead and (3) Fortineno finds her footing late to run her down. I will go three deep in here with those three horses and see if we can bring this double home!
$5.00 WPS 3 Cost: $15.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,3,9 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
(5) STROLLING has been bouncing from barn to barn off several claims this year. She won east last time and is primed for the Re-Pete today. Jose returns ands meets a suspect field . He should sit behind (2) Bronzed and hold off (1) Eagle Pass late.
$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 5 w/ 1, 2 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Strollingin R3 and try to crash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
Both (2) Jades Gelly and (6) Shesadirtydancer look solid in the 4th
$ 7.00 Double 5 w/ 2, 6 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 4:
(2) JADES GELLY will let the other three runners go at it up front. All of them want and need the lead. Cancel will bide his time and tip out for the stretch drive. If they get lazy up front, he’ll likely call an audible and make his move earlier if need be.
$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 2 w/ All Cost $ 21.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
(3) Cazilda Fortytales gets back to a 6 furlongs distance and coming in this one strongly. The workout leading in makes me believe this horse is prepped to be towards the front and has shown the ability to stay up on the lead, even with a wet track; I think this is a smart play in here. (1) Miss Peppina has raced against better and has the speed and post position to be a part of the action throughout. This horse is a dangerous one in here as well. (4) Bella Domenica is going to be closing late and strongly and if we can get anything close to 12/1 we HAMMER. This horse is ascending at the moment and I think Rudy is heating up. (8) QuantitativeBreezin from the outside is my last play because Jose Ortiz will give this horse a great chance at winning this one and if there is some early pace battles, then a forwardly placed horse and a jockey who can find the right lanes is dangerous.
$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 3,4 w/ 1,3,4,8 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 1,8 w/ 1,3,4,8 Cost: $6.00
Race 6:
(2) Opening Night is my top pick in here to improve from first time out and be on the lead throughout. This horse is training well and should be able to handle a field like this. (3) Shanghai Shamrock gets some needed class relief and may just be too good for the field. The past performances don't scream that this horse is ready to win, but the pedigree and competition may just be too much for the field. (4) Lady Milagro is also looking to improve from first time out and has the right jockey to do just that. This horse will be placed well throughout and the workouts lead me to believe that this horse will be involved throughout.
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 2,3,4 Cost: $12.00
Race 7:
(6) Exult and (3) Mud Pie are my co-top picks. (3) Mud Pie is going to love the distance and has the post position to be right behind the pace throughout. That will leave Luis Saez to find the lane and we already discussed how I feel about him doing that. (6) Exult is a horse I really like to be behind the pace in a forwardly placed position and have a shot down the stretch at a decent price. The turf will most likely be yielding with the incoming weather, but this horse has shown the ability to make up ground on softer turf. My last inclusion will be (1) Rhythm Section who is getting the post position to find the lead and should be left alone to set some fractions early. That head start intimidates me that it may be too tough to catch up ground on this surface and I want the horse in front if that is the case.
$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,3,6 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
We’re anticipating rain later in the card and I think it mostly benefits (8) MONTAUK DADDY. He drops slightly and has speed to take control early if Santana wants too. Of the MTO’s, I prefer (15) HIM SHE KISSES. He finally gets some class relief and has the option to go or come from behind. The start will dictate that. (14) FAST BREAK will do just that. He’s best on or close to the lead so if he gets clear early, the rest may be in trouble. (12) DEVIOUS MO tries open company but has fast enough races on his resume to be very competitive with this watered down bunch.
$ 7.00 WPS 8 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 8, 15 w/ 8, 12, 14, 15 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
Brown has had more time now with (6) GOLD SPIRIT. She was overlooked last time against some of these and didn’t run too bad. That was off a layoff and should be on her toes today. Rosario takes over. (4) GIBBERISH is two for two on an off track so keep an eye on the skies. She does well out of town but still needs to prove she can handle this circuit. 2nd to Miss Marrisa is not to shabby though and she cuts back to 9F. (2) HOROLOGIST likes the front end and could be the threat to wire them. She just got nailed by Royal Flag and held off Crystal Ball. She will be tough to reel in.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 2, 6 w/ 2, 4, 5, 6 Cost $ 18.00
Race 10:
(5) TALLIS has speed, drops and cuts back. Throw in that it’s Pletcher, Johnny V and UncleMo and you can’t go wrong. Brown is looking to get rid of (8) VOTER PROTECTION. He should make a run at the leaders late, but 7F may be too far for him. (16) RUDY ROD will be the favorite and the horse to beat. Moisture will be his friend and the distance fits him perfectly. A must use. (6) BOLDISH has a decent run on the dirt and that was against better. He showed some life in his last closing for third against similar. The cut back and dirt should work out just fine for this Dialed In colt.
