Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
I’ll be honest, I’m not the biggest Mr. Buff fan. He was good for some time but he feels as though he’s fading a little. That said he only has to face a few rivals today so he will go off the favorite. I like the resurgence of (1) DANNY CALIFORNIA. He too had tailed off from his younger days but his latest win is a good sign that the old guy is back in form. I’ll lean on him to Re-Pete that performance as Irad, oddly, takes the call instead of Saez.
$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 1 w/ 2, 3 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use (1) Danny California in R3 and try to crash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
We’ll use (2) Tass and (6) Secure Connection in the 4th.
$ 7.00 Double 1 w/ 2, 6 Cost $ 14.00

Race 4:
Gotta Go Mo will take some beating but Kimmel has been ice cold for sometime now. I think this group is a little better than he faced in Monmouth. I landed on Rosario again as he rides (6) SECURE CONNECTION. She seems to be better at sprinting as both her wins last year were at 5.5F & 6F and one of those was here at the Spa. She’ll need someone to go with Mo to help set up her late kick.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 6 w/ 2, 4 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's $2.00 Early Double:
Race 1:
The two Wesley Ward horses are going to show early speed and may be 1-2 throughout this sprint. Irad takes the mount on the (7) Admiral Halsey and this is going to be a BIG week for him to try and get close in the standings. I'm guessing Rosario guns (5) Castle Leoch and tries to bottom out this field. The Pharoah's love the turf and speed is alsways good on these tight turns. (6) Munny Bolt is another firster from the Asmussen barn with Santana, Jr. aboard. This horse is going to be able to save ground behind the early pace and have plenty left to compete late. The Diodoro barn has been unbelievable this meet and has some impressive workouts coming in and should be set up from the outside to run down the speed late. I will ride with the barn..
$3.00 WPS 5 Cost: $ 9.00
$2.00 Ex 5, 7 w/ 1,5,6,7 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 1, 6 w/ 1,5,6,7 Cost: $6.00
Race 2:
I think Luis will be tough in here with (2) Addilyn. She has plenty of early speed horse to gain position on the other to her inside. With the scratches, she may have the front all to herself. IF the rail runner decides to take her down, that works in (6) Stunning Munnings favor. I'll heavy on Addilyn but use Stunning as a savor in the doubles
$5.00 WPS 2 Cost: $15.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
The two favorites, (1) Tivoli Twirl and (4) Blitz to Win, look good in here and I will be including both. I think that both of these horses will be running 1-2 early and then have enough left in the tank to challenge each other towards the wire. My top pick is going to be the firster in (3) Kaden with Jose Ortiz getting the mount. Jose will be able to find a rail position early and I like the way this horse has been training coming in. I think this horse will be ready to win first time out, as most Jeremiah Englehart horse's are.
$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 1,3,4 Cost: $12.00
Race 6:
(2) Shining Colors is going to be my top pick in here with the horse getting back to a fast surface and training lights out coming in. Ricardo Santana, Jr. will be able to use the post position to his advantage and find a nice position forwardly placed and have enough left in this sprint to run down to the wire. (3) Ms PenelopeItStop is going to improve significantly second time out and with the class drop. This horse is a must play in my opinion, as Rudy Rodriguez's horses always look significantly better second time out. (4) Starship Dreams had a decent debut on a sloppy surface and the firmer surface should improve this horse's result this time out. We should expect a forwardly placed horse and in case no one challenges this horse early, we will include in case the horse wires the field. The last play will be (5) Bonkers who has some good efforts on the course and getting back to a sprint. This horse has the experience and could have found the field this time out.
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 2,3 w/ 2,3,4,5 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 4,5 w/ 2,3,4,5 Cost: $6.00
Race 7:
This is a tough spread out field in here and we may want to consider condensing our picks in the first two legs to maximize in here. (3) Lisheen is a horse I like facing winner's for the first time, but coming in with an impressive win. This horse likes distance and the beneficial post position is pushing me to put this horse on top. (9) Community Adjusted has some impressive performances in closing fashion, so I think will be able to navigate a nice trip from the outside post position. This horse is going to be extremely strong late and these turf races need those types of runs. (11) Town Avenger is going to be aggressive from the jump and be forwardly placed. I trust Castellano to find the right lane on the rail late to run this field down. (12) Alydiva is a horse I really like as well and coming in with good form. This horse will make up for being on the outside by behind able to shoot from the gate and find a forwardly placed position. Gaffalione is a terrific turf rider and going to invest on him bringing a price in for us.
$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 3,12 w/ 3,9,11,12 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 9,11 w/ 3,9,11,12 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
I considered singling (2) BETSY BLUE as the major contenders have all just cleared the NW1X level in there last race and now move up. Blue cleared that level three back against open company. She’s a Tonalist so the 7F shouldn’t be a problem and maybe a dry track could help as well. She’s the filly to beat. The extra furlong helps (3) DIVA BANKER. She faced NY Breds for the first time in her last and made easy work of it. The mini vacation is odd but Davis returns and she has a lot of wins. (4) TRINNI LUCK was beaten by the Diva but recovered to win next out. She may be lone speed in here which makes her a player.
$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 2, 4 w/ 2, 3, 4 Cost $ 12.00
Race 9:
(8) ARREST ME RED is lightly raced from Ward and is 2 for 2 sprinting on the turf. He does need the speeds to back up but with the presence of Johnny V, that makes this guy a tough customer today. (1) INTO THE SUNRISE is the other Ward and ran the fastest of this bunch last time. They will need to catch him as the rail will force his hand. (3) SKY’S NOT FALLING ships in and attracts Saez. That’s just enough to make him a player here. I'm going to draw a line through (2) FAUCI's last race and guess we see a different guy today. He was battling Golden Pal and Chasing Artie ( 2nd to both ) and gets a firm turf today. Santana rides himn for the first time and I think we see a big run today.
$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 2, 8 w/ 1, 2, 3, 8 Cost $ 18.00
Race 10:
No surprises in the finale as the two favorites figure to be difficult for this group. Both are dropping from a “key” race now as Danzigwiththestars put on a show last week first time vs winners. (4) CLEVER FELLOW just missed beating Danzig in that race. I don’t understand the big drop as this isn’t Browns strong point. (10) VIKING ZIM is the other from that race and he was closing fast at the end. It was only his second time going long on the turf so I’m guessing he’s figured it out and is ready for a big run today. The wise guy pick is (3) STRAIGHT SKINNY. He closed to get 2nd against this level two back, then finished behind the top two in that same race. Cancel returns and they run well together in their prior two starts. (8) GHOSTMON just missed as the heavy chalk down at Belmont. He’s been right there at this level and Rudy is starting to heat up..
