We have a beautiful day in Saratoga for racing and we are finally making a trip up on this Jim Dandy day! This is my first time of the season and I am EXCITED. In this write-up, I will be focused on taking down the early double and a pick 3 play that covers the first three races of the pick 6 (Races 6-8). Big Pete will be focused on taking down a pair of "Plays of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 9-11). We appreciate you taking a look at this blog and we hope that we can make it a profitable day! GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $ 2.00 Early Double:

R1: 2, 3, 6, 8

R2: 1, 8, 11

Cost: $24.00

Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:

R6: 1, 2, 7, 8

R7: 7, 8, 10

R8: 2, 3, 6, 9

Cost: $48.00

Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:

R9: 4, 5

R10: 3, 4, 5

R11: 1, 3, 7, 10

Cost: $24.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 4:

(6) NOBLE CONQUEST has had two tries at this level and has improved in both of them. I think he found the right group to be a major player in here. Franco got on track late with him and we should see a similar run today. That should be enough against this group

We’ll use (7) High Tone and (8) Brennan’s War underneath.

$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 14.00

$ 7.00 Exacta 6 w/ 7, 8 Cost $ 14.00

We’ll also use Noble Conquest in R4 and try to crash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.

Both (4) Behind The Couch and (5) Honey Money look solid in the 5th

$ 7.00 Double 6 w/ 4, 5 Cost $ 14.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 5:

(4) BEHIND THE COUCH finally ships back to New York to face her fellow NY Breds. She has worked herself into shape and is coming off a nice win. She figures to get some speed up front to target and Castellano takes the mount. Her last race just looks faster than these.

We’ll use (5) Honey Money and (8) Out First underneath.

$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 14.00

$ 7.00 Exacta 4 w/ 5, 8 Cost $ 14.00

$ 10.00 Double 4 w/ 1 Cost $ 10.00

Little Pete's $2.00 Early Double:

Race 1:

This is shaping up to be an exciting race for a bunch of two year olds. (6) Woodline has two races under his belt and that should help with stamina late in here. This race does not look to be void of speed and I think that pays off late for an "experienced" horse. (8) Jurkovec is my top pick in here with the Violence pedigree having a good percentage of winners first time out and as two year olds. I think Rosario will be able to navigate to a nice rail position early and the race opens up late for a patented Rosario run down. (2) MAster Game looks dangerous on paper and was bought for $300K. This horse has been training lights out and I just see a scenario where this horse finds the lead and doesn't give it up; one may say a prep race for something longer. (3) Kevin's Folly is going to get an aggressive ride early as I think the instructions will be to be on the lead. This horse has been training consistently well and will look to position himself in a great position throughout and could be the real deal.

$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 6,8 w/ 2,3,6,8 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 2,3 w/ 2,3,6,8 Cost: $6.00

Race 2:

(1) Fast Gordon looks really good in here and the post position will help this horse have enough energy to win this one late. I think Lezcano finds the rail and then waits for the moment to let this horse loose around the second turn. (8) Bielefeld is an Irad play as I think he will put this horse in the action early and he has an ability to put his horse in the action early, but also save energy through the first half of the race. This allows this horse to have some energy late with a head start against the closing field; I love it. (11) Out of the Breech is my last play in here with the class drop and adding Saez in here. This horse has been battling from the back and Saez will not let that happen again. This horse has the ability, but just has not gotten the ride to date.

$3.00 WPS 11 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex Box 1,8,11 Cost: $12.00

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 6:

(1) Sweeping Giant will be able to navigate a nice trip on the rail under Rosario. This horse has been training longer and I picture a late closing horse against a tiring field. (2) Nyquest Nix is a price horse in here that is training lights out and will be a horse that comes on late. I love Saez with this post position and speed to his outside. He should make it a bit difficult for those horses to find the lead and that pays off late. (7) OhTwoohThreeFive had an impressive debut and experience matters in stamina, so forcing myself to play but this is the type of favorite I like to beat. Last play will be (8) Limited Liability who is a son of Kitten's Joy and debuting on grass. Jose Ortiz will be able to navigate a trip towards the lead and have some horse left down the stretch.

$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 1,2 w/ 1,2,7,8 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 7,8 w/ 1,2,7,8 Cost: $6.00

Race 7:

(8) Love and Thunder has just missed the winner's circle the last two times under Jose Ortiz and is going to be a tough beat in here. This horse is the logical winner and a must play for me. (7) High Opinion is a horse I really like coming in with good form and Irad is choosing to ride again. This horse ran a triple beyer speed last time out and missed by a length. A different set up in here could be all this horse needs to win. (10) Drawn To Race is making her US debut and those out of staters run well on grass. Rosario gets the mount and just too intimidating to leave off the ticket.

$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex Box 7,8,10 Cost: $12.00

Race 8:

My top pick in here is going to be (9) Special Reserve. The Mike Maker barn is on fire and this horse is coming in winning 4 of his last 5 races in closing fashion. This race is filled with speed and this sets up the outside horse well to run them down late. (6) Whitmore still has the speed and I think it comes down to the positioning in here. I just can't leave the horse off the ticket. (2) Mischevious Alex gets back to the 6 furlongs and possesses incredible speed. The inside post position to the other speed is an advantage that Irad will not give up. (3) Firenze Fire is going to need the lead in here and could battle it out with (2) Mischevious Alex in here. This should be an exciting race throughout and we should expect a photo finish (Calling me shot)!

$3.00 WPS 9 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 2,9 w/ 2,3,6,9 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 3,6 w/ 2,3,6,9 Cost: $6.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 9:

We’ll keep this short and sweet as (5) ESSENTIAL QUALITY is the gorilla in the room. He stands out against this group and the money will prove that. Cox gave him a proper breather for a strong fall campaign. It’s Saratoga so we’ll include one more just in case. (4) KEEPMEIN MIND gets the jockey upgrade and likes to come from off the pace. It seems as though the others will be backing up after tangling with Essential and this guy can take advantage of that late. Brown usually shows up for these events so we’ll use (2) MASQUEPARADE underneath.

$ 20.00 Ex 5 w/ 2, 4 Cost $ 40.00

Race 10:

Speed is always dangerous in these turf marathons so (5) CHANNEL MAKER has a slight advantage. He got real good this time last year and controlled a few G1’s up front. If he’s ok from his trip overseas, he’ll be tough to run down. What’s odd is that Rosario was on him in both races this year and now decides to ride the Brown runner (4) ROCKEMPEROUR today. He seems to be in good form right now so they figure to offer a challenge late. (3) BREAKPOINT is the other Brown that I want. He will bide his time in the back and finish strong late. He probably needed his last coming off the layoff and now has had more time with Brown.

$ 7.00 WPS 3 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 3, 5 w/ 2, 3, 4, 5 Cost $ 18.00

Race 11:

(1) VETTORI KIN beat this level three back, then tried much better. The drop down fits and he figures to be a player in here. (7) TIZZARUNNER is a new animal after the Maker claim. You might get decent odds even though Irad gets the mount. I’m interested in (10) SHARP PROSPECT. He ships in after facing better and Sharp convinces Saez to take the mount. He’s 3 out 4 on the turf and won his last without breaking a sweat. He looks strong today. (3) MOROCCO drops to this level for the first time off some decent attempts against better. Joseph Jr claimed him two back and has find a nice spot to get a Spa win.

$ 7.00 WPS 10 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 7, 10 w/ 1, 3, 7, 10 Cost $ 18.00
