We are entering the 3rd week at the Spa and as usual, we are trying to dodge the rain. Looks like the skies opened up overnight but we still remain on the turf for Wednesday's card. Today appears to be dry so let's have some fun. We'll tackle both Pk3's, covering races 5 thru 10 and a "Play of the Day"! Good Luck!

Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:

R5: 1, 3, 4

R6: 1, 2, 6, 9

R7: 4, 6 Cost: $ 24.00

Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:

R8: 2, 6, 10, 12

R9: 2, 6, 9

R10: 5, 6, 9, 12 Cost: $ 48.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

Gargan entered maiden (8) BARRAGE in against winners last time and threatened at 52:1. He still hasn't won a race but goes up against the same group today, but this time he brings Irad. This War Dancer stretches out to the prefered 1M and continues to work well. He looks primed to graduate today.

$ 7.00 WPS 8 Cost $ 21.00

$ 7.00 Exacta 8 w/ 4, 6 Cost $ 14.00

We’ll also use (8) Barage in R3 and try to crash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.

We’ll use (1) Cazilda Fortytales and (6) Quasar in the 4th.

$ 7.00 Double 8 w/ 1, 6 Cost $ 14.00

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 5:

(1) Raw Courage has been looking fo turf and he finally gets it. Still managed a 2nd and 3rd place finish in two sloppy sprints. Now this Declaration Of War gets to stretch his legs going two turns and figures to save ground. A lot to like. (3) Timbukto is getting a lot of chatter as Cox is off to a great start. The Scat Daddy influence is hard to look past and his works are steady. (4) Resilent Courage makes the switch to turf after sprinting on the dirt. He was no threat but still made steady progress throughout the race. The extra distance should help.

$ 5.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 15.00

$ 2.00 Ex Box 1, 3, 4 Cost $ 12.00

Race 6:

(6) Cody's Wish tussled with an above average maiden group back in June. Now Mott stretches this Curlin colt to the 9F distance which figures to be right up his alley. With not a lot of speed to talk about, Rosario may choose to go early and bottom them out. (9) Beatbox improved 2nd time out after taking the winter off. He will be the main danger close to home. (2) Absolute Courage also improved when they sent him two turns. Not that surpising as he out of an Eskendereya mare. He seems to like it up here as the works are fast. (1) I Am The Law makes the switch back to dirt and Saez jumps on. If there is any left over moisture in the track, he may be the one that likes that the best.

$ 5.00 WPS 9 Cost $ 15.00

$ 2.00 Ex 6, 9 w/ 1, 2, 6, 9 Cost $ 12.00

Race 7:

(6) Tamahere was chasing G1 fillies and mares and now meets a very suspect field. She'll be short odds but a difficult foe today. A possible single to cut down your cost. The only other we will include is the Clement/Rosario runner (4) Speaktomeofsummer. She won the Lake Placid last year but hasn't seen the winners circle since. Maybe it's the water so we'll include.

$ 5.00 Ex 6 w/ 4, 8, 9 Cost $ 15.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 8:

(2) COLTON’S COMMAND has been facing some decent runners in his last two and now Motts cuts him back. He will be allowed to stalk and then fire when Jr says go. There’s plenty of speed to set him up in here. (6) GYPSY KING is one of them who will be gunning to the front. That’s Ward’s style so expect Rosario to go and never look back. The other Ward, (12) AMSDEN, ships in and gets Johnny V for the ride. This Pharoah may also forget to stop. (10) UNITEDANDRESOLUTE is dropping in for this and nails Saez. His 1 for 12 record is an eye sore but he usually hits the board.

$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 2, 6 w/ 2, 6, 10, 12 Cost $ 18.00

Race 9:

It will be hard to leave (9) BELL’S THE ONE off your ticket as she’s been facing G1 competition for most of her career. She got a confidence building win last time and looks primed for a big effort. But I can’t resist 6:1 on (2) REAGAN’S EDGE. She was 2nd in both NY tries last year facing stiff company. She probably needed her last after taking the winter off and Lezcano is back aboard. The race sets up perfectly for her as she’ll get first run on the closers. (6) DON’T CALL ME MARY is a different filly this year. Three strong 2021 races to start the new year off as Pletcher has her going in the right direction. We’ll try to get by with these three.

$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 2, 6 w/ 2, 4, 6, 9 Cost $ 18.00

Race 10:

I know he's way out there post position wise, but I can’t resist (12) FLIGHT TO PARADISE. He wasn’t far from Digital Software and the improving Bail Out. Castellano will need to find the hedge and save some ground but that’s what they get paid to do. (5) CENTURIAN seems to always be right there at the end but can’t get over the hump. Maybe today’s the day. (9) DECLAREATRUCE came on at the end two back and drops slightly. Jr has two 2nd place finishes with him and is looking for more. (6) PRAYER BOOK will take some money as he drops in for a tag. What’s interesting is that Saez jumps ship for another runner and Irad takes over.

$ 7.00 WPS 12 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 9, 12 w/ 5, 6, 9, 12 Cost $ 18.00
