What a great time of the year when we have live racing from Saratoga 5 out of 7 days. We are not taking any days off and are ready to take down a couple of plays on today's card. We will be attacking a pair of pick 3 plays that covers the sequence and the early double. Big Pete will also have his "Play of the Day" on a race to try and maximize the bankroll. Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 4:

A small field of four sprinting. (3) COINAGE was well bet first time out and then odds on in his maiden win. This guy probably wants more distance and will be a handful today. Jr will likely sit just off the other three and then let this Tapit loose coming for home. We'll use him with Lil Pete's picks in the 5th.

Little Pete's Early Double:

Race 2:

(1) Larceny is a play I really like in here getting back to dirt and some distance relief. This horse has a favorable post position and should be well positioned under Santana, Jr. throughout. (4) Democratic Values may be too good in here and a must play. Irad will likely be aggressive in here and get to the lead and I do not fully trust the others in the field to catch him. (5) Mission WrapitUp is an interesting play who will be stalking throughout and if there's a tough battle up front early, then this horse has a say late. Last play will be (6) Copa who is going to be on the lead with (4) Democratic Values and could make it a two horse race with a pair of favorites.

Race 3:

Not a lot of dirt experience for this group as these turf runners must adapt to dirt for today. (9) Evvie Jets is a Twirling Candy and he produces any surface. The extra distance now should also work in his favor as they usually can run all day as well. (1) Coalition Building may be ok on the dirt and has proven that distance is not a problem. He'll be tough to take at a short price but a must use. I will try first time starter (4) Empress Theodora. She's an Empire Maker out of a Fusaichi Pegasus mare. Enough said there and also attracts Seaz. I doubt we get the 12:1 ML but even half of that is a bargain.

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 5:

Two horse race for me with the heavy favorite,(7) Raffinity, and (5) Gallina I think this is Irad's race to lose and just tough to look past him in here. I will include (5) Gallina who will be running strongly late and if the favorite is challenged early then I like Luis Saez to find the stretch drive stamina.

Race 6:

There are five in here that I like.. (2) Morning Matcha ran a good race on a sloppy track first time out and I think with a more firmer surface this horse will be running strong late. (6) Let's Be Clear is another horse with an impressive debut and Gaffalione is going to have this horse well placed throughout. (9) Next Tuesday is a dangerous horse in here with a firmer surface and a speed rider aboard. This horse should find the lead and be a tough catch late. (10) Take the Backroads is a horse I like to also be forwardly placed under Jose Ortiz. this horse have an impressive debut and should only improve from that effort. Last play will be my top play with (1) G Money Liv. I think that this horse is going to have the post position and the stamina throughout. This horse is going to be impressive first time out and I love the price we will get.

Race 7:

(3) Holy Emperor had a tough trip last time out and I think will be able to have a better trip in here. There should be some speed to run into and I think will be suited well for this horse's running style. (2) Fair Haired Boy is a Cairo Prince that stretches out again. Sprinting is not his game but he was running well through the stretch in that 5F sprint. Should save ground and make it interesting late.(11) Devilish Mood is coming in with good form and fresh off the claim. I expect this horse to be able to navigate a nice trip in here. Last play will be (12) Gimme Some Mo who is going to be sent towards the lead and the workouts make me believe will be able to sustain a big run in here.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 8:

I’ll focus on two logical and one long shot in this competitive turf sprint. (6) SHIRAZ ran into a Sharp Big Package two back, then looked dull in her last. I like the extra time between races for this gelding and he has run well on the Spa grass. I’m expecting a big effort today. (5) SWASHBUCKLE is the only 3yr old in here and Clement looks to have this guy in top form. Back to back bullet works for this lightly raced colt has he finished right behind Shiraz last month. (4) ALPHALFA is my wise guy pick as he has grown fond of the turf in his last two runs. He’ll be a price and Lezcano takes the mount. This one likes to stalk and get first jump on the closers and that style seems to fit this group with some speeds signed on.

Race 9:

The three favorites look equally matched. (2) FORZA DI ORO was last seen winning the G3 Discovery back in November. The layoff is a little concerning but Mott only sends them out if they’re 100%. Brown has (3) HIGHEST HONERS back after his dull effort two back. He wasn’t facing much and managed to get the W last time and will need to bring his running shoes today. (1) WEST WILL POWER ships in for Breen as he exits a G3 in Jersey. Rosario must see something there as he offers his services for Gary West.

Race 10:

This off the turf sprint is up for grabs as no one stands out in here. The entry is interesting as (1) MOMMIE'S JEWEL has shown some speed an the firster (1A) VANCOUVER'S PRIDE is bred to sprint and sports a bullet gate work for this. (3) DAMILANO has the best number posted and Saez returns. He'll get bet to close this one out. (2) PERFECT BANKER started out on dirt but that was against much better. I see this one being aggressive with Rosario taking the mount. (6) ON OUR WAY BOYZ is a Central Banker and handled the slop last time. He'll get a dry track today and has speed to be a factor against these.
