Opening day at the Summer place to be and we are ready to cash some tickets. We are going cover the entire card today at the Spa and hope we can go 10/10 (realistic). We are excited to be back to have live spectators at Saratoga and can't wait to get up there and get some pictures posted. Big Pete and I should be headed up there together next weekend, so look out for us in our matching shirts. We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 4 :

We're off the turf and of the MTO's entered, I prefer (4) Kerik over (6) Gem Key. But I like the wet breeding on the Exaggerator filly (5) ROSE E HOLIDAY. Her maiden win came on a good track and the 9F seems perfect. I think she gets overlooked and should be a price. Lezcano continues to ride well and may have found the right field facing these turf runners on the dirt.

Looking for (4) Kerik to rebound from a dull effort and (9) Kemba to take them far on the front end.

$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $21.00

$ 7.00 Ex 5 w/ 4, 6, 9 Cost: $21.00

Little Pete's Early Pick 5:

Race 1:

My top pick will be (6) Flower for Lisa who will find the front early and I do not trust anyone else in this field to catch him late. I think Luis will be assertive throughout and be able to dictate some nice fractions. I will be cautious in this lower level field and include (5) Charlie'sArchAngel who should get a nice stalking position early under Irad and come strongly late.Last play will be (9) Hammerin Aamer from the outside having an aggressive mindset early as well.This horse looks to be in pretty good form and should be a player throughout.

$3.00 WPS 9 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex Box 5,6,9 Cost: $12.00

Race 2:

My top selection in this one is going to be (4) Microbiome. This horse has been training lights out and shipped up here from Kentucky to run a big one for Tom Amoss barn. Tyler doesn't mess around and will be on the lead and will be a force in here. (7) Zmuda has a race under her belt and that pays off in these maiden special weight races. I really like this horse in here coming north as well. (8) Frost Oats is a clever name being a daughter of Frosted, but not grey; I like. This horse will be coming strongly late first time out and will find her best footing down the stretch. Last play will be (9) Speedometer who has a race under her belt as well will be the deserving favorite and will show speed throughout. Just too difficult to leave off the ticket, so I will not.

$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 4,9 w/ 4,7,8,9 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 7,8 w/ 4,7,8,9 Cost: $6.00

Race 3:

I cannot look past the two favorites that are facing winners for the first time in here in (9) St. Joe Louis and (10) Treason. Both of these horses are going to be charging down the lane and I think poised to run 1-2 in here. I will also be looking to the horse to the outside in (12) Alley Oop Johnny who is a horse I have always liked and will be forwardly placed in here. Cancel gets the mount for the second time and I think that pays off with an impressive race in here.

$3.00 Ex Box 9,10,12 Cost: $18.00

Race 4:

$ 3.00 Ex Box 4, 5, 9 Cost: $18.00

Race 5:

(3) Lady Scarlet looks great on paper in here with it being her second time out. Luis has a horse underneath him that possesses early speed and some experience on the track. This horse is going to be a handful. I also like (6) Solasta who is training lights out coming into this one and gets Irad. Goldenscents out of a Speightstown mare needs no introduction to sprint races at the Spa. Last play will be (7) Echo Zulu who is a Gun Runner and will be shooting out of the gate in here. I think it will be between these three to win this one.

$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex Box 3,6,7 Cost: $12.00

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 5 (Re-Pete from above):

$2.00 Ex Box 3,6,7 Cost: $12.00

Race 6:

I trust the Ortiz brothers in here aboard (1) Positive Skew and (5) Kitten by the Sea. (1) Positive Skew has been training well leading into this one and I am throwing her last race out. I think the post position makes a big difference in here and Jose gets her into a nice pocket behind the lead to challenge come stretch drive. (5) Kitten by the Sea is getting another class drop in here and just may be too much horse for this field. I do not love the form, but could just be the best horse in here. My last inclusion will be (11) Jazzy Lady who I think will be running her best race late down the stretch. Rosario is going to time this out well and will be finding the right lane to run past tiring horses.

$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex Box 1,5,11 Cost: $12.00

Race 7:

The entries are a must play in here with myself leaning towards (1A) Ajaaweed who I think will be running a great race at this distance. Johnny V will find the rail early and will get this horse ready to run late right on the rail. (4) Dack Janiel's is a clever name.. But pulls Jose Ortiz in here and coming in after a futty performance against a good field. I think this horse will make some noise in here. (8) Dust Devil is a horse I like with the last race against open company. This horse will be coming strong late and Rosario choosing to ride again is a big boost. Last play will be (9) ClatnTheLionHeart who is a dangerous 10/1 morning line horse. This horse will be running strong late and I think will get a fantastic ride from Eric Cancel in here.

$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 1,8 w/ 1,4,8,9 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 4,9 w/ 1,4,8,9 Cost: $6.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 8:

(3) GOLDEN PAL will be very difficult to beat even if he comes back 75%. He held on in the Breeders Cup sprint and faces an easier group today. He’s fast and knows how to use it. We’ll keep the ticket small as Lil Pete has spent enough for both of us. We’ll look for either (8) REBEL POSSE or (9) JAXON TRAVELER to mount a late rally to pass by all but one in here.

$ 10.00 Ex 3 w/ 8, 9 Cost $ 20.00

Race 9:

(1) PRETTY BIRDIE will likely want to go early and try to control it right from the first jump. Saez will muscle his way to the front and take them by surprise. Asmussen has two in here and they both look solid (8) EAGLE EXPRESS beat an easier group last time but worked just as fast last week with her stable mate. If she beats the rail filly to the lead early, she might get brave up front (4) VELVET SISTER won rather easy in her debut She too goes a little farther and if we get at least half of her 8:1 ML, I’ll be happy.

$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 4, 7 w/ 1, 4, 8, 9 Cost $ 18.00

Race 10:

Brown will draw a lot of attention with (8) CLEVER FELLOW. They switched him to the turf two back and he responded with two strong runs but burned a lot of money in the process. There are several in here that exit the June 18th race won by Cotton. I prefer the War Dancer gelding (2) DANZIGWITHTHESTARS more than the others. They finally stretched him out and he was gaining on them late. The inside post will help as will Saez. All in with this one. (7) VIKING ZIM was gaining as well. The switch to turf and distance worked in his favor also. Guessing these two will be slugging it out through the stretch. I am also interested in the Jerkens runner (5) NOBLE JOURNEY. His best race to date is when he went long on the turf. He gets regular rider Jr back and will offer a threat late.

$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 2, 5 w/ 2, 5, 7, 8 Cost $ 18.00
