Pete's Picks Belmont 7/9 Plays

Last weekend of racing at Belmont before the summer place to be OPENS FOR THE SEASON. We are not overlooking the stacked cards we are getting and focused on bringing in $$ to the Spa. We are going to look to take down a pair of pick 3 plays that covers the pick 6 sequence. I will be focused on races 4-6 and Big Pete will be locked into races 7-9. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we would like to try and improve our bankroll on. We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 1:

(5) By the Sey Shore is a horse I like in here I think he will be forwardly placed behind both or one of the entry runners. He has one of the strongest riders out there and we'll look for Saez to muscle his way through the stretch. I don't think the surface switch will have any effect on his run today.

Race 2:

(4) HEIRLOOM KITTEN was his old self first off the claim for Atras. A nice stretch drive with the classy Chris And Dave last time should have him on his toes today. He'll be short odds in this short field but we'll look for some value underneath. (1) Flat Out Beautiful will be the danger shipping in. He likes the slop. (5) Dark Storm has a race or two that make him competative here as well.

We’ll also use (10) Heirloom Kitten in R2 and try to crash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 4:

This is a tough first leg to our pick 3, so I am going to spread with some favorites that make sense. I really like (1) Bourbon's Hope. It's no secret the Exaggerator was a much better horse on the slop. So if dad passed any of that on to this guy, we could be in for a nice treat. Watch the board close to post for any hints on who they are beting. (2) Spettro is a Ghostzapper who has shown some consistently good workouts coming in and Johnny V knows how to lull them to slepp up front. (5) Rotknee is a Runhappy who also is training lights out and has the speed rider of Luis Saez. This horse should be ready to win first time out. My last play will be (6) SundaeWithSandy who is a son of Keen Ice who I saw beat American Pharaoh. I am not comparing any of these horses to American Pharaoh, but we could have a horse built for upsets?

Race 5:

The outside looks dangerous in this one and the favorite, (9) April Antics, looks poised for a big race in here and will be included. (10) Know it all Red is another horse that should be able to run a big race, especially against this unproven field. (12) Tootsie's Song picks up Rosario again and will be running her best race late down the stretch. My last play will be (11) Captivating Care will get over looked here based on her connections. She's been consistant in her last few and Harkie got her within two lengths of winning when they last met.

Race 6:

(8) Dreams Of Tomorrow is having a good year. He'll try to maintain that good form on the slop today but I don't see that as a problem for this Speightstown. Noda keeps two in here but I'll only include (5) Lost In Rome. NHe has speed to be dangerous and Jose is a nice pick up. (3) Danny California was claimed two back and now finds an easier spot. Saez sneaks in to the saddle. He finished behind a sharp Bank It last time and there's none of them in here today.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 7:

Most of these have been butting heads against each other and they remain at this same level. (4) TOO EARLY was getting to the classy Control Group last time but came up short. He'll take money for that effort and I'll include. (2) THREE JOKERS beat Too Early and then took some time off. They are the main players but I'll use the Super Savor gelding (6) DANEBURY. He too exits the same race as the above two but we all know what Super Savor did in the slop. He ran well fresh off the claim and Luis returns. There's a lot to like if they leave him alone.

Race 8:

(4) KILKEA didn't seem to mind the mud last time and could end up lone speed in here. She tackles open company today but that didn't bother her on the turf in Florida. (3) SECUR CONNECTION wasn't an MTO but I'm thinking Shug was looking for the mud. She's been sprinting lately but this Data Link won't mind stretching out. She's coming off a layoff but her works are like clockwork. (1A) STAND FOR THE FLAG is the MTO that I'll use. She likes to hit the board but today she faces turf runners. She has a race or two in her pp's that would dominate this group. (10) ALWAYZ LATE drops and will try the mud. The only time she ran on dirt was against much better. Three strong bullets in a row for this and Rosario gets up for Mott. I'll lean on her today.

Race 9:

(8) SEAHORSE D'ORO will get a lot of attention as they were looking for rain. She jumps up slightly but this is an off the turf event so she may be able to handle it. I liked (1) SHE SO NAUGHTY on the turf and I like her more now that we're on the slop. She was gaining in her last two but came up short both times. I like the switch to Johnny V and her dad didn't mind the moisture. I'm all in with her. (7) MS BOOMBASTIC won the last time Jose was up. I think she shows a little more speed today and may just forget to stop. (6) ENTWINE has been facing better turf runners so if she takes to the slop, she could be dangerous at a price.
