Last day of racing at Belmont today and we are looking to bring in some momentum into Saratoga. We will be attacking a pair of pick 3 plays that covers the pick 6 sequence. I will be focused on races 4-6 and Big Pete will be locked in to races 7-9. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we would like to try and improve the bankroll on. We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R4: 1, 2, 6, 7
R5: 2, 5, 9, 10
R6: 5, 6, 7
Cost: $48.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R7: 2, 3, 4, 6
R8: 4, 5
R9: 4, 6, 8, 10

Little Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 2:
I think (9) Pammy's Ready getting to a firmer surface and second time out will make all the difference in here. I expect this horse to do what 2 year old horses do from the Ward barn and that is show speed early and bully the competition. I think Jose should be able to navigate a nice trip from the gate and run on with this one late.
$5.00 WPS 9 Cost: $15.00
$2.00 Ex 9 w/ 2,3,4,7,8 Cost: $10.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
Casse worked some magic with (5) PRETTY CLEVER as she came back this year as a different filly. She showed speed in that return and just missed by a nose. Saez may find himself alone up front and that bodes well for them. She’ll be short odds but holds a big advantage over this group. We’ll look for a couple of value underneath. (1) Out Of Sight comes back with L1 so her dismal performance may be bleeding. She’s bred to do well at this 7F distance. (7) Towering Orbit attracts Rosario and this Orb filly has steady works for her debut.
(1) Out Of Sight and (7) Towering Orb will try to make up ground late.
$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 5 w/ 1, 7 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Pretty Clever in R3 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
We’ll use Lil Pete’s runners (6) Sidd Finch and (7) Girl Dad I the 4th..
$ 7.00 Double 5 w/ 6, 7 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 4:
(1) Rhythm Section is poised to find the early lead and challenge competitors to catch late. I will include in case the horse is left alone to set favorable fractions and have a head start come stretch drive. (6) Sidd Finch and (7) Girl Dad are the two George Weaver horses in here and they look dangerous come stretch drive. I am actually leaning towards (6) Sidd Finch in here who is showing good form coming in and will be a handful come stretch drive. My last play will be (2) Chulainn who is coming in after breaking his maiden and will get included if the race sets up for a closer. This horse ran that similar style to break his maiden and could be set up to make it two in a row.
$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 6,7 w/ 1,2,6,7 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 1,2 w/ 1,2,6,7 Cost: $6.00
Race 5:
(9) Tiberius Mercurius is training lights out and gets Saez aboard for another try. I think this race is won on the front end and that is where this horse will be. I will trust Saez to bully the competition behind him. (10) After Five broker his maiden and typically they do not win these types of races, but the connections are forcing me to play. Johnny V/Ward love winning races and the horse showed grit running down the field late down the stretch. (2) Sparkling Sky is a price play that is training lights out and worth the play. Jose Ortiz will be sitting right behind the pace and then time a run down the stretch. (5) River Tiber is my last play who is the other Ward horse coming in after breaking his maiden. This horse won off the lead and that could be the spot to be with the presence of speed in here.
$3.00 WPS 9 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 9,10 w/ 2,5,9,10 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 2,5 w/ 2,5,9,10 Cost: $6.00
Race 6:
I am going to try and beat the morning line favorite, (1) Jalen Journey, with the three horses to the outside. (7) Endorsed is my top play in here who I think will get an aggressive ride in here and be a tough catch late. Johnny V is a great gate jockey who will make up for the post position early by shooting to the front. This horse should have enough in the tank to sustain a big run and the workouts coming in make me believe it could be a run away. (6) Yodel E. A. Who is a horse I think is in good form in here and will be able to have a big stretch drive in here. Saez is ready to win today, I can feel it. (5) Basin is a dangerous horsein here who gets a drop in class and will be the most likely favorite in here come post time. If not, hammer this horse at the betting window.
$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex Box 5,6,7 Cost: $12.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
After yesterday’s Victory Ride, I’m not a fan of (4) BELLA SOFIE as the two fillies she tangled with didn’t run well. The drop will help so we’ll use defensively. I like the two out of the Dancing Renee in here. (2) RUVIES IN TIME is having a solid year. She closed well to get 3rd last time and gets a good set up today. (3) FIERCE LADY has come back this year as a different lady. She should sit right behind the speeds and come late. Saez chooses this one instead of Bella. I’ll include long shot (6) GLASS CEILING incase the race falls apart late. She goes out for a new barn off the claim and has races on her resume that makes her competitive in here.
$ 7.00 WPS 3 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 2, 3 w/ 2, 3, 4, 6 Cost $ 18.00
Race 8:
Brown will try to salvage the weekend by getting (5) VIRGINIA JOY in the winners circle. She faced a Mean Mary last time and will likely appreciate the extra distance. I’ll use but take a shot with (4) CALL ME LOVE. She faced the top mares all last year and has quietly worked herself back into shape after taking some time off. She got her public workout win last time to set her up for todays marathon. Jr returns. We’ll try to get by with only these two.
$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 4, 5 w/ 2, 4, 5, 6 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
Both favorites will draw attention in this NYS MCL finale. (4) TIS A PITY ships North after a solid finish and now cuts back to the 6F sprint. (8) LOOKIN TO FLY dropped to this level last time and it worked as they just missed graduating. The layoff for both of them is my concern and that prompts me to look elsewhere. Something went wrong 2nd time out for (10) PRAIRE TALES. She eased out of the race around the turn, then took some time off. She returned last month to show more speed then what she has shown before. Now Brown switches to Manny and cuts back. This Forty Tales looks live to me and I have to try to wire this suspect field of maiden claimers. Weaver’s firster (6) ESCAPEWITHFRIENDS, has back to back bullets in June that indicate he’s ready to run today. She doesn’t have to be much to beat this group.
