Friday racing in NY means there are some tickets to be cashed. I will be looking to take down the early double as well as a spot pick 3 that starts the pick 6 sequence (Races 4-6). Big Pete will have his "Play of the Day" on race 3 and take down the late pick 3 (Races 7-9). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $2.00 Early Double:

R1: 2, 4

R2: 1, 4, 6, 7 Cost: $16.00

Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:

R4: 4

R5: 2, 3, 6, 8

R6: 1, 2, 4, 6, 7 Cost: $20.00

Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:

R7: 5, 6

R8: 2, 4, 6

R9: 11, 14, 15, 16 Cost: $ 24.00

Little Pete's $2.00 Early Double:

Race 1:

(2) Extra Effort is going to be sent to the lead and look to wire the field. I trust Irad to handle this lower level field and win this race in a jockey's effort. (4) Bustin Bay will be able to stalk behind the pace and if there is some early battling up front then this horse will benefit for a late close. I will include this horse as a hedge play if the race breaks down late. Two favorite... nice job, Pete.

$5.00 Ex Box 2,4 Cost: $10.00

Race 2:

(1) Mostly Harmless is coming in strong to this one and should improve from first time out. I think the surface change will only benefit this horse and will be a tough one in here. (4) CharlotteSometimes is a Speightster who looks to have the speed. Dylan Davis will not mess around in here and seek the early lead. That is the place to be in these sprints and could steal this one in front. (6) Frosted Wild Ride has some nice workouts leading in and Lezcano should be able to save ground throughout in here. This horse should be able to wait for the moment to strike down the stretch and not be too far back to make up a ton of ground quickly. (7) Purrfect Mistress has some nice workouts as well and has some morning speed. Irad is a must play with speed and should be able to save ground throughout and time out a nice late run.

$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 1,6 w/ 1,4,6,7 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 4,7 w/ 1,4,6,7 Cost: $6.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

(5) Three Jokers will be odds on in this Ashley T Cole off the turf Stakes. I just have trouble backing this guy at short odds going this far. I think the 9F favors (6) TIERGAN a lot more. It’s Rudy and Saez, so we’re not going out on a limb here, but this watered down field seems to favor him and I’ll try to turn the table on the Joker today..

$ 10.00 Ex 6 w/ 2, 5 Cost $ 20.00

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 4:

I will take the bait and take (4) Mo Mischief as a single in here. Irad should be able to hit the front and not look back against this field. This horse has not produced to the pedigree, but just looks to be too much for this field. I will ride with Pletcher and Irad Ortiz in this one.

$10.00 WIN 4 Cost: $10.00

Race 5:

Now we have an opportunity to spread in the other competitive legs. (2) Rosey's Peach is going to be close to the front under Dylan Davis and has the preferable rail position to back that. I think this horse will be dangerous if left alone early. (3) Left Leaning Lucy is a horse that had a nice run last time out and I think a repeat performance gets this one; I trust Jose Ortiz. (6) Quasar gets Irad and coming in strong form. This horse will be stalking the lead and wait for the moment to fan out wide and run down the front runners. (8) Girl of Tosconova is going to be on the outside under Rosario and wait for the late opportunity to pass tiring horses. This horse may get overlooked on the tote board and worth a big shot in here.

$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 6,8 w/ 2,3,6,8 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 2,3 w/ 2,3,6,8 Cost: $6.00

Race 6:

(1) Immokalee had a nice debut and I think improves on the stretch out and the experience. (2) Misbehaved is going to be tough to beat in here and will be on the lead throughout. This horse may be too tough to pass late if not challenged early. (4) Conclusive had a nice closing effort first time out and has the speed to be in the action throughout. Irad will wait for the moment to strike and give this horse the best opportunity to break his maiden. (6) Judge Davis gets Jose Ortiz again and the second time out will be a much improved effort. This horse is training lights out and should be able to find a nice rail position early and wait for the moment to fan out and compete for the wire. Last play will be (7) St. Lukes closing strongly for Kendrick from the CLOUDS. This horse will be off the pace and wait for Kendricks direction as I think there is plenty of horses that want the lead and this horse benefits the most.

$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 2,7 w/ 1,2,4,6,7 Cost: $16.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 7:

The rain took its toll on this race as (6) WATER’S EDGE will be singled on most tickets here. His only issue may be that he has never been this far before but breeding suggest that shouldn’t be a problem. I’ll lean heavy on this guy and toss the other two MTO’s. Prince Of Pharoahs and Work Out just don’t like to win. I’m using the Atras (5) HORN OF PLENTY as a savor. He’s been on the dirt for most of his career and his race two back in the slop would be good enough to at least get 2nd here. Maybe the time off is what he needed and he’ll be decent odds.

$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00

$ 5.00 Ex 5, 6 w/ 1, 5, 6 Cost $ 20.00

Race 8:

(4) CLASSY EDITION was impressive on debut and her 8/29 bullet jumps off the page. The 7F won’t be an issue and any left over moisture won’t bother this Classic Empire. The running line indicates, geared down, so this gal may have some more to offer. (6) NOVEMBER REIN enjoyed her visit to the Spa winning back to back. She has to deal with others speeds in here and will likely have to go wide the whole trip. If Jose can clear, that may be her only chance today. I prefer (2) VELVET SISTER over Rein coming out of the Seeking Ante. She will likely set up camp just behind the leaders saving ground the whole way. Rosario needs to find a hole to shoot through and that is my only concern as he had trouble with that a couple of times yesterday.

$ 7.00 WPS 4 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 2, 4 w/ 2, 4, 5, 6 Cost $ 18.00

Race 9:

The Street Sense gelding (16) BREW PUB will draw a lot of attention in this off the turf event especially if there is still moisture in the track. However, we could have a fast track before the night cap. He closed well against 25k claimers and now moves up slightly against mostly turf runners. That plays in his favor. You have to be careful with (14) BIG BROWN SHOES. On paper, he looks tough but the major drop off the long layoff raises a big red flag to me. I’ll use defensively, but try to beat him. That’s why I landed on (11) TOUGH WORKOUT. He has speed and Saez to take this field all the way. Rudy is heating up and they cut his workout tab to 6F after going long in all three of his starts. (15) DISTRACTANDATTACK has a decent 2nd against this level as he drops back into the claiming game. He gets a new rider who will likely be aggressive with him and that’s what this guy needs.

$ 7.00 WPS 11 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 11, 16 w/ 3, 11, 14, 16 Cost $ 18.00
