Live racing back in NY and we have the world class riders running in Belmont. We are going to attack each race that does not involve hurdles. I will be taking down a pair of doubles; Races 3 & 4, as well as Races 5 & 6. Big Pete will be attacking the late pick 3 to start our weekend off in the right direction. We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $ 24.00 Early Double:
R3: 3, 4, 5
R4: 1, 2, 3, 8 Cost: $ 24.00
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Double:
R5: 4, 6, 7, 8
R6: 2, 3, 7, 8 Cost: $16.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R7: 1, 3, 4
R8: 1, 6
R9: 3, 4, 8, 11, 12 Cost: $ 30.00
Little Pete's $2.00 Early Double:
Race 3:
(3) Good Culture is going to be my top selection in here after exiting a nice closing race against a better field. This horse should be able to find the rail early and wait for the moment down the stretch to let loose. I also will be including the favorite (4) Ord in the Tower who is getting back to dirt and taking a steep class drop in here. Irad is choosing to ride again and this horse should be in the action early. My last play will be (5) Breaking Stone who is going to be aggressive from the gate and that type of run is what I will be looking for in this lower level class.
$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00
$4.00 Ex 3 w/ 4,5 Cost: $8.00
$2.00 Ex 4,5 w/ 3,4,5 Cost: $8.00
Race 4:
(8) Split Then Double looks much the best on paper and should be closing strongly late against this field. I trust Jose Ortiz to be aggressive enough to get this horse involved early and have enough late to be the most likely winner. (1) O'Gotten Girl has the rail and the jockey to find the lead early. This horse should be able to handle the distance on turf in this one and be a wire threat if left alone on the lead. (2) Crowding Out is a speed horse that should improve this time out getting back to grass. this horse should be ridden aggressive by Irad and have a say late in here. (3) Chalet Beach is training lights out and Kendrick is back; this horse will be dangerous first time out. This horse will be sent to the lead and we will see if the horse is good enough first time out.
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 1,2 w/ 1,2,3,8 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 3,8 w/ 1,2,3,8 Cost: $6.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
(4) Amazing Dream has a race under her belt and should show some early speed in here. This horse is training well and getting Saez aboard, so should see an improved effort in here. (6) Saratoga Kisses is getting back to dirt and getting Irad aboard again. This horse should be right off the pace and enjoy the class drop. (7) Alilada is a firster that I think will be speed forward. Rosario will let this horse run throughout and should be able to sustain a big run in here. (8) Conservative Values is going to improve second time out and the training leading in looks great. I think the Jose Ortiz bump will be a big one in this one.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 4,8 w/ 4,6,7,8 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 6,7 w/ 4,6,7,8 Cost: $6.00
Race 6:
(2) Lady Petrol is going to be my top pick in here as I think the rail position makes a difference late this horse is going to be running her best come stretch drive. (3) Messidor gets the Rosario bump on grass and should be another horse we see flying come stretch drive. (7) Misspell is a dangerous horse to be on the lead early and a tough catch late. I trust Irad to bully the opponents throughout in here. My last play will be (8) Adelaide Miss who is getting the Kendrick play in here. I really think that he has an impressive return to the track and just love the way he rides. This horse is going to be in the action and I trust this guy on any horse.
$3.00 WPS 2 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 2,7 w/ 2,3,7,8 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 3,8 w/ 2,3,7,8 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
(1A) HAPPY FARM is the attraction for this Rice entry as this 7yr old will look to control the race right from the start. The slight drop is a little concerning fresh off the claim but (1) CLENCH should be coming late to help bail the barn out. (4) FREE ENTERPRISE was 2 for 2 at the Spa and cuts back on Big Sandy today. If there is moisture around, he doesn’t seem to mind that. I’ll try to beat them all with (3) FOX RED. Joseph struggled up north but I’m expecting him to heat up again. He summons Saez and figures to get a nice setup and he is running fast in the morning.
$ 7.00 WPS 3 Cost $ 21.00
$ 5.00 Ex 1, 3 w/ 1, 3, 4 Cost $ 20.00
Race 8:
Brown has the short priced entry who look the part. (1) VALUE ENGINEERING has burned a lot of money but has been facing better. The 10F fits him well and I’m expecting him to run big in here against these. The “other”, (1A) PERJURY TRAP, was an easy winner out of town and has now spent the summer with Brown. This guy could be just warming up for the barn and the farther the better for this guy. I’ll only use one more and that is (6) KINENOS. Cox tried him against much better and now cuts back and drops him where he belongs. Lezcano won on him back in April and is in position to do that again.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
$ 5.00 Ex 1, 6 w/ 1, 5, 6 Cost $ 20.00
Race 9:
We’ll spread out here in this unpredictable NYS MCL event. (4) SPUN FOR LU LU woke up last time when she went long on the turf. She’ll try to Re-Pete that effort today. (8) EXFILTRATION finished right behind Emma And I last time and she returned to win next out. Not sure I like the lay off though. I landed on two that finished a neck between them the last time they met. (3) MILL STONE CREEK was over her head against MSW last time and now finds a cozy spot and (11) LEMON TAFFY moves back to the turf fresh off the Maker claim. Both will likely be coming home the best. (12) KILLOEAN ROSE will appreciate the wide Belmont turns and the drop to the 40k competition. Wasn’t that far from possible favorite, Bella, last time they met and is a price to consider.
