We have a stacked card today at Belmont with (3) stake races and we have you covered. I will be locked into the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 6-8). Big Pete will have his "Plays of the Day" as well as taking down the late pick 3 (Races 9-11). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Race 1:
Jockey race in here for me with (4) Matoula going to be right off the lead and wait for the stretch drive to pass tiring horses. (5) Strong Point is going to be aggressively placed early and should have enough left late to finish strongly. Last play will be (6) Malibu Anthem who is going to be closing the strongest and I trust Castellano to find the lane late to run down the front runners.

Race 2:
Both of Chad Brown's horses are going to be placed right behind the pace and come with a strong stretch run and both are a must play for me; (3) Spicer & (12) Vagaries. (6) Gun Boat gets Luis Saez aboard again and we should expect a front running race and a stronger horse late. The experience should help this horse with stamina and Saez may force others to catch him late. (10) Sweet Surprise is a horse that is improving each time out and I think this horse will be set up to close strongly late against a fast early pace.

Race 3:
(2) GIOCARE tried to close in from Union Ave up north and the one turn and inside draw should work in his favor. If Rosario can find a hole, they will be coming home strong late in the game
(4) Top Gun Tommy and (6) Mr Biggs are the choice to fill in the exacta.

Race 4:
First time starters will take most of the money in this MSW Sprint. I landed on Asmussen’s runner (3) SKY ANDSAND. This barn continues to produce fast sprinters and his runners have hit the board 7 out of 9 this meet.
(2) Zandon and (4) Chanceux are the choice to fill in the exacta.

Race 5:
Both favorites will be the ones everyone will be focused on but I can’t resist the “other” three year old. (5) FOLLOWING SEA wants to sprint and they finally cut him back to 6F. This Run Happy will likely let the two go at it and come with his late charge
I like the (3) Baby Yoda or (4) Firenze Fire to hold on for the place.

Race 6:
(6) Makin My Move is going to have plenty of speed in here and I think will be impressive facing winner's for the first time. I think that (3) Mystic Eyes will be tracking right behind and wait for the lane to open up late to compete for the wire. (7) Bubble Rock is going to be running a similar style race from right behind the pace and have a fast stretch drive. (1) Poppy Flower will be my last play who has the rail this time out and should improve from last impressive effort at a decent price

Race 7:
(3) Gufo is a must play and the likely winner. The horse is in too good of form and Rosario knows how to find the winner's circle. (1) Serve The King has the inside post position and the late closing expert in Irad. This horse should get a great ride throughout and have the late kick to boot. (2) Arklow is coming in good form and will be closing strongly as well; must play. (7) Japan will be my last play with a late kick as well in this marathon and should be running his best late.

Race 8:
(3) Phantom Smoke is going to be on the lead and has the ability to wire the field. (9) Uncle George is going to be closing strongly late with the move to Irad. (11) Neuro is exiting a key race and will run a late ground saving trip to compete for the wire first.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 9:
20K claimers go at it and it looks like it’s now or never on (8) GRUMPY LITTLE TOTS as this guy continues to drop foran easy score. It wasn’t that long ago he was tackling G3 runners. Saez showing up is a good sign that he’s got one more in him. (7) DADDY KNOWS has the speed to be dangerous with these. If Davis can nurse him along, there’s not a lot of closing power behind him. (4) CANTRELL HILL was claimed twice at the Spa so there might be something there. Rice and Cancel teamed up this time last year and they went on a decent roll through the winter.

Race 10:
(4) BIG PACKAGE has been consist his whole career. The 6F is his best distance and Irad is tough to leave off any ticket. I’ll take a shot with (7) DURESS. I like the move to Davis who has the hot hand right now. They will stalk and run strong through the stretch. Belmont seems to work well for this guy. (3) VOODOO ZIP should get first jump on these two but Rosario is in a funk right now and I’ll only use defensively here. (8) CHOCOLATE BAR tries sprinting. These cut backs usually add to their stretch kick and this guy looks live for Maker.

Race 11:
(1) PIVOTAL RUN was full of run when he crossed the finish line first but taken down two back. Now Franco returns to finish the job. There’s enough speed up front to Re-Pete that same effort. (10) VIKING ZIM has been competitive at this level when he dropped two back. Was left with too much to do wheb he was far back last month. Castellano will get him involve sooner rather than later. (8) EIGHT WEEKS LONG finished nehind Pivotal but was affected by him slightly. Davis returns. (12) SANDRO THE GREAT will have to overcome a wide trip but drops in for a tag getting back on the turf.
