Pete's Picks 10/28 Belmont Plays

Thursday racing at Belmont and we have the entire 9 race card covered. I will be focused on just the plays and not the write up on this one with my focus being on the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 4-6). Big Pete will have his "Play of the Day" on Race 4 and the late pick 3 (Races 7-9). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 3:

(6) MY ROXY GIRL has now won her last two races on Big Sandy and this six year old Mare is showing no signs of slowing down. With plenty of speed entered, she figures to get a perfect set up again. She was claimed two back and she rewarded Juan with a big run. A confident jump in class to get a bigger pay day.

I’ll look for both (1) Spun D’Etat and (5) Fair Regis to come late underneath

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 7:

The two lightly raced geldings are who I’ll key on to get this late Pk3 off and running. (1) BIG BOBBY figures to be short odds as the slight cut back to 6.5F works well for him. With a win and three 2nds, he’s proven he can run and hasn’t missed a step in the mornings. The Pletcher runner (10) UNO looks to be his main danger. He won easy on debut, then, was thrown to the wolves against stakes company. A little relief for this Laoban and the return to sprinting should work well in his favor. The sleeper to me will be (2) SEVEN LILIES. He doesn’t have any speed but that may work in his favor today. There’s potential for some heat up front with several in here that want the lead. Davis can wait for the right time to come home and grab a piece or post the upset.

Race 8:

(15) DUST DEVIL picks up Johnny V ands seems to handle Big Sandy better than most in here. With only five remaining, he’s had the most experience at this level on the dirt.

(13) MY FIRST GRAMMY did well against claimers last time but will need to pick it up a bit even against this small field. (14) BOLDISH has been Dialed In in his last three outings. He is the threat to take them all the way as he has the speed to control it up front. (7) KING CAUSE will be a savor in here. After a year off, he returned to run a close 3rd against a decent group.

Race 9:

I only like three in the finale, but if you need a single, (7) BLITZ TO WIN would be my choice. His last race, also at this 1M, is his best yet and he’ll be no surprise for a Re-Pete. (6) LUCKY BRODY has finished behind Blitz in their last two races but improved in both. He needs to only find three lengths to catch him so I’m not leaving him off the ticket. Something went wrong with (2) GOT THE GOLD as he stopped running ½ way through the 9/23 race. His Spa race was better than all of these so I’ll draw a line through his last and expect him to run better today.
