Friday racing at Belmont and we are going to cover the card again. I will be including my plays, but not the write-ups of my plays as I am writing this in the early morning. I will be locked into the early double (Races 1 & 2) and a spot pick 3 (Races 4-6). Big Pete will have his "Play of the Day" and take down the late pick 3 (Races 7-9). Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
The Abreu entry figures to take some money in here with (1) Twist Just Right being the main player. (6) Laochi also will attract some betters as that filly has speed. I want the Arrogate filly (2) CARAGATE in this spot. She didn’t take the slop last time but before that, she rallied for 3rd after a tardy start. Castellano jumps off the favorite to ride for Friedman and he’s been winning races recently. We’ll stick with the hot hand as they may have found the right field.

Race 7:
I’m drawing a line through (5) ANSWER IN’s last race at the Spa. Never got going right from the start and called it a day early. Franco takes over and he’ll likely stalk and come late. (2) ALWAYS SUNSHINE has been consistent ever time out. Jose won on him the last time they were on Big Sandy and will be looking for another. I’ll go with the hot hand and put Weaver’s gelding, (1) MI TRES POR CIENTO on top. He went faster than Amortization in their 9/20 bullet and we saw what that one did in the nightcap yesterday. Mi Tres has had some time off and now gets the services of Luis Saez. He appears live to me and we’ll gladly take this 9:2 ML.

Race 8:
(8) MYHARTBLONGSTODADY got back on track in the Yaddo just falling short. She wasn’t matching the year she had in 2020 until that run. She dominated NY Breds during her career and looks to be back in shape. Retains Lezcano and is the mare to beat. I prefer (1) PECATONICA in here. Jose takes over and they draw the cozy rail. He’s shown speed in the past and both Belmont races this spring were her best trips yet. She can go or sit close behind and get first jump on the closers. Palace Malice has produced some grass runners and (4) ICE PRINCESS didn’t seem to mind it when she tried it in June. She was only 3 lengths behind Pecatonica and she’s in good form now off a nice win in the slop last time.

Race 9:
It wasn’t a surprise to me that the Mizzen Mast gelding, (8) CITIZEN K ran well when they switch him to the turf. Now Jose shows up so it’s all business today. He looks to be the horse to beat. (4) B C GLORY DAYS finished behind K at the Spa but the extra distance probably helps this guy. There appears to be plenty of speed entered to set up both of these guys. The same could be said about (11) SUIT OF ARMOR as he too finished right behind K. This time he gets Irad up and the big turns will help save some ground and find some holes. I’ll lean more on this big Grey as the 7F fits him like a glove. (5) WAR SMOKE loses Irad, but gains Davis. He couldn’t hold two of the runners mentioned above as a heavy favorite. You’ll get a better price on him today but the 7F may be an issue??
