The pick 6 at Gulfstream is expected to have a pool of $6 million. We are going to breakdown those races in to two pick 3 plays, but if you like what you see then you could get involved in that massive pool. It looks to be another beautiful day in south Florida, so let us try and win some money! GOOD LUCK.

Race 7:
There are a couple of horses in here that I like that are coming off an extended layoff; which I am not sure how to take. Both of the workouts on (2) Afficionado and (3) Fast Scene seem to signal that these horses are ready to roll first time out off this extended layoff and they have performed well against stronger competition; still scares me a bit. I then will look for some speed on the outside to get to the early lead and not look back; which makes me land on both (9) Envied and (10) Compensate. The daughter of American Pharoah had her best showing to date at this distance, and Jaramillo should be more comfortable second time out aboard. (10) Compensate should be placed right behind the early speed, and has shown the closing ability with fast fractions. As much as it pains me, I am going to exclude (5) Foolish Humor in this one with Irad aboard. It is never smart to exclude Ortiz, but I have this horse underneath the horses already stated. It is what it is..
$1.00 Ex Box 2,3,9,10 Cost: $12.00
Race 8:
With the scratch of (8) ReserveNotAttained, this makes this race a single for me with the (5) Louie's Kingdom. This horse has ran well against better and I think his best is much the best in this one. Not much more to consider here for me, as I think Irad will handle this field handily.
$10.00 WIN 5 Cost: $10.00
Race 9:
With the single in the last race we can spread ourselves out a bit in the final leg; which looks to be somewhat competitive. The Pletcher horses are going to be a tough beat here, so I will include both but are leaning more towards (6) Halladay. (11) Admission Office is also a strong play here who has great closing speed and should be stalking the pace to be in prime position to close on this one. My last two plays are going to be (4) Aquaphobia and (10) Highland Sky; who both I like to be in the mix early and have plenty left to compete for the winner's circle.
$2.00 Ex 6,9 w/ 4,6,9,10,11 Cost: $16.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 10:
(11) SHOOTIN THE BREEZE came up a little short when he faced better last time off a 5 Month winter vaca. The time was fast and he has held a steady work tab in the AM. Motion must like his chances as he gives the keys to Rosario to steer him home. (6) BATTLE OF BLENHEIM always attracts attention and Irad will only influence that more. A contender that we need to include. (9) HONEY WON’T probably won’t as Mott is having a tough meet. Instead, I’ll use (3) SUBLIME APPEAL. Made a run at Blenheim and came up short but there will be more early zip to set him up.
$7.00 WPS 11 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 3,11 w/ 3,6,9,11 Cost: $15.00
Race 11:
Several of these want the lead which will benefit (5) R MERCEDES BOY. He’ll sit behind them and bide his time, then come with his run late. If they let Saez and (4) I’LL FIGHT DEMPSEY get away up front, they’ll knock out this bunch. The one that scares me is (3) TAP IT TO WIN. He was over his head in his last two but his Spa victory would make him tough here. Casse looks to have him back in form as is work tab is steady and strong. I’ll key on this Tapit runner as he starts his 3yr old Campaign.
$7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 3,5 w/ 3,4,5 Cost: $12.00
Race 12:
Well, we’ve reached the bottom of the barrel, so we will spread out to cash this late Pk3. (5) IL FARAONE has a pattern where he runs a big race, then takes the afternoon off for the following race. If the pattern holds true, today’s the good day. Zayas carried (2) TRAPPEZOID way to wide and it cost him a few lengths. He’ll look to save some ground from the 2 hole. Enlisting was impressive again yesterday so I’ll see if (11) SHE TAKES HEART can also re-Pete her run last time as well. (9) DEXTER ROAD ran a winning race last time but just got nailed close to home. Gets in light against many of these.
