We had a nice day yesterday to come out a little bit above even; which is always the goal to leave with more than you went in with. We are going to switch it up a bit and try and win some early money with the early double, and then close with a joint late pick 4. We hope everyone is remaining safe and can enjoy this Friday distraction down in south Florida. GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's Early $1.00 Double:
R1: 4, 7, 9
R2: 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 12
Cost: $21.00
Big Pete & Little Pete's $0.50 Late Pick 4:
R8: 1, 5
R9: 1, 2, 3, 6
R10: 1, 3, 5, 11
R11: 1, 2, 7, 11
Cost: $64.00
Little Pete's Early Double:
Race 1:
(4) A Beautiful Day is going to be tough to be here and should be seeking the early lead and not sure another horse can pass her. I am a little worried that she could tire out and may look for a closer that could pass this tiring horse, but this is in single discussion for me. With that being said I am going to include two horses that are exiting the same race and should have a late surge to challenge for this one in (7) Halfy and (9) Nationalist.
$2.00 Ex Box 4,7,9 Cost: $12.00
Race 2:
I was going to look to single (5) BreakThrough from the Ward barn with Irad aboard, but the scratches in this one has open it wide open. With that being said, I am going to use the field in this one and still have an affordable ticket. We will be anxiously watching the first leg to get one of the two price horses we will have, and then once we get that the second race will just be looking at our will pays.
$5.00 WPS 8 Cost: $15.00
Big Pete and Little Pete's Late Pick 4
Race 8:
Big Pete:
Pletcher has two bullies in here and I can’t see far past them. (5) RHYTHM SECTION may like it a little farther but, packs a mean kick for home. He’ll need to real in (1) MANDATE as that one has a little more speed and will likely move first to get some distance between his barn mate before he gets in Rhythm. (10) BAYOU PROSPECTOR likes the grass and Wilkes is sending them out live this meet. A price to hit the board.
$5.00 Ex 1,5 w/ 1,5,10 Cost: $20.00
Little Pete:
Not going to overthink this one and play the two Pletcher horses and the Saffie Joseph, Jr. horse in this one. (1) Mandate is exiting a key race here and should be the horse to beat here. (5) Rhythm Section is going to like the distance relief and looks ready to roll in this one. (6) Captain D is taking a class drop and this could wake the horse up, so will be a play.
$2.00 Ex Box 1,5,6 Cost: $12.00
Race 9:
Big Pete:
McPeek drops (3) FLUTE MAKER after an 8 Month vaca. Not the best sign so I’ll try to beat him. Saez winds up on (6) JESUS’ TEAM and is your likely speed. No one seems to like it up front early, so look for Luis to nurse him along and try to get away coming into the lane. (2) FRANK FIRST has had many chances and rarely wins. It’s now or never with Irad up today.
$3.00 Ex Box 2,3,6 Cost: $18.00
Little Pete:
I landed on three horses in this one as well. (1) Dizzy Sight will have the speed to stay up with the early pace, and I think this race sets up for a good stretch run for him. (2) Frank First has Irad back aboard and has hit the board every time he has been on. This horse has some speed on dirt and I think that plays a major role in getting this horse to the winner's circle. The last horse I like is the (6) Jesus' Team because who doesn't want to be on his team and exiting a key race that could translate well to this one.
$2.00 Ex Box 1,2,6 Cost: $12.00
Race 10:
Big Pete:
(3) CHARMAINE’S MIA has been knocking heads with much better and may have found the right bunch. Zayas returns who guided her to her last W. She’s my WPS play today. I’ll spread out though as there are many fillies that, on their best day, look strong. (1) R HAPPY ENDING, (5) LADY GRACE and (11) KITTEN’S COVERGIRL fit that profile.
$7.00 WPS 3 Cost: $21.00
$1.00 Ex Box 1,3,5,11 Cost: $12.00
Little Pete:
(1) R Happy Ending is a good candidate for a single here as this horse has the speed and the stamina to win this one. If we need to cut back on picks to make it an affordable ticket, then we will consider this horse a single. If we have some room to play, then I will include (5) Lady Grace and (6) Hidden Facts who also have plenty of speed and could try and steal this one.
$3.00 Ex 1 w/ 5,6 Cost: $6.00
$2.00 Ex 5,6 w/ 1,5,6 Cost: $8.00
Race 11:
Big Pete:
I’ll try to finish it off with (7) DELANCEY’S PHILLY for the upset. She handled the grass nicely against better and now Perkins gives Jaramillo the reigns. We’ll include the likely favorites (2) FLORADO and (11) SUMMER SHORE because of the connections but also include long shot (4) NOBLE ENTERPRISE as she gets in light.
$7.00 WPS 7 Cost: $21.00
$1.00 Ex Box 2,4,7,11 Cost: $12.00
Little Pete:
(1) First Wave should look to get to the early lead here and not look back. (2) Florado is exciting a good second place race and could have more in the tank for this one. My last play will be the Pletcher firster, because I do not want to lose to him on the last leg; (11) Summer Shore.
