Gulfstream 5/21 Spot & Late Pick 3

We are excited to be back to racing at Gulfstream today and we will be looking to take down two pick 3's. I will be focusing in on races 5-7, and Big Pete will be focusing in on race 8-10. We will have some vertical plays in each of these races to hedge our tickets a bit. Little Pete's Spot $0.50 Pick 3:
R5: 2, 4, 12
R6: 8, 9, 11
R7: 1, 3, 5, 6, 7

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
R8: 5, 12
R9: 2, 5, 7
R10: 1, 4, 7, 16

Race 5:
I am banking on (4) Big Spender to break well in this one and will be too much horse for the field, but last two times out he has had an issue from the break so will hedge a bit with some other favorites. I do not see much more other than (2) Alaskan and (12) Deckology in this one. Will include all three in this one and like our chances to see the second leg alive.

Race 6:
I like (12) Fayez to seek the early lead and put some good pace fractions up and set this race up for (8) Farm Strong and (11) Mountain Breeze. I really like (8) Farm Strong in this one to break his maiden; the move to grass has resulted in much better racing and the weight relief could result in a better late kick. (11) Mountain Breeze will also see an improvement with his second time out on grass and the second time Ortiz is aboard. Just because he has had the best beyer speed races I will also include (9) Big Treasure who could have a big performance in this one.

Race 7:
I do not trust any of the horses in this one, so will be spreading here. I see (7) Ray'sWarrior being the early speed here, but I think stamina will come in to play with (3) Star Juancho being a dueling second. I will include those two horses in case they run away with this one, but also want to include (1) Valdocco and (6) Dr Harlan as they are exiting the same race where they both showed a good closing performance. (5) Making A Marc has been consistent in their races and I think that this will be a broken race, so going to include as well.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
This race got ugly quick when we moved to the dirt. (14) LADY FIORELLA will be a short price but major player here. Single alert if you want to keep your bankroll down. The only other I’ll use use is (5) TRIESTE. Berrios will likely gun this one to the front and hope the others take the afternoon off. Some Mares get awfully brave up front when no one challenges them.

Race 9:
(5) ADMIRAL LYNCH may have an edge on the front end as Irad almost stole the G3 run last time. I’m sure he’ll try the same here, but that extra ½ furlong and the extra speeds scares me. (7) FAST PASS needs the speed to back up and make up 4 lengths on the Admiral. He may get it today. (2) MUCHO is where I landed. He faced better last time and didn’t disappoint. I’m asking a lot of Mott as he is in search of his first W this meet. I guess he’s due.

Race 10:
I’m only interested in two, now that we moved to the dirt. (16) INGREIDO will get a lot of support after this Uncle Mo went wire to wire last time. The only knock is that he’s facing “winners” for the first time. Most entered in here will be NW2L runners though, so he found the right group. (4) GOOD TIMES MAN has some dirt tries that will make him a player here. He’s the only other I would use.
