Gulfstream 5/2 Spot & Late Pick 3

We are going to key in on the Gulfstream card again, but will also have our eye on the big races at Oaklawn today. We are again looking at making two PK3 plays with vertical plays in each of these races as well. We may even mess around and combine our tickets to play the late PK5. Race 8:
A very competitive race to start off the ticket in this one and I am going to spread a bit. My top selection is with Chris Landeros in (3) Kid Bourbon who seems to have found a home at this distance and has a nice late close in races that I need to include this horse. (2) Overdeliver has the right connections and is going to be there late. (4) Be Gone Daddy is my top sleeper pick and I anticipate a big ride out of this horse today. The workouts leading in and the consistent beyer speeds make me lean to this horse figuring it out and want to include. I will also include the three outside horses in (7) Sandino Ruler; who had a terrible break last time out and should be able to compete with this field. (8) Cool Bobby; who is taking a significant class drop and this could wake the horse up. (9) Beau Luminarie; has Saez aboard and wants to prove the tiring outing last time out was a fluke.

Race 9:
I have a strong opinion on (2) Highland Glory who I think is going to be a handful in this one. The workouts leading in look good, the closing wins in the last two out look great against this field, and aggressive Saez with an inside post to have this horse right off the lead from the jump is also a positive. For the sake of an affordable ticket, I will only be selecting two other contenders in here that I think could give (2) Highland Glory some trouble. (1) Envoutante has bullet workouts and a convincing win coming in to this one and will be one of hedging plays. Final selection is (12) Seducer, because who doesn't need Irad on every ticket?

Race 10:
I have narrowed it down to three horses in this one with my top selection being Saez again aboard (6) He Hate Me. This horse is exiting the same race as (2) Last Judgement and (4) Garter and Tie; and I think (6) He Hate Me is just the better horse of the bunch. The Chad Brown horse, (3) Network Effect, is coming second time off the layoff and is going to be a handful in this one so will be included. (5) Red Crescent is getting back to the shortened distance and I think this horse will be in form to run well.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 10:
For the late Pk3 here, Irad is strong in all three. I’ll play a normal Pk3 sequence and an Irad $ 5.00 Pk3 with his three runners. It all starts with (3) NETWORK EFFECT. Brown gave him a short rest after a fall campaign, then, gave him a public workout in March for his 2020 debut. The screws are tightened and all systems go today. A possible single on most tickets. The only other that I’ll use in the Pk3 is (8) ROYAL SQUEEZE. He may find himself alone on the front and seems to be getting back in good form. Won this race last year and maybe lightening can strike again.

Race 11:
This one is more wide open than the 10th. (4) GUFO just keeps improving and now faces his toughest challenge to date. A re-Pete of his last two will make this Declaration Of War colt a must use. (7) SOUTH BEND seems to come up short but, Hough is clicking right now and so is Vasquez. Needs speed up front and he gets it today. Both (3) DOC BOY and (6) SUMMER TO REMEMBER make it interesting as well with their closing kicks. We’ll include.

Race 12:
I’ll navigate to the outside runners in the finale. (10) HOTTY TODDY attracts Irad after closing from far back to get 2nd. Gets a little more distance to get there today. (9) BEACH DREAMING was interfered by Yako in her last and that one returned to win last week. Gets an upgrade to Zayas fresh off the claim. Long shots (7) DANCE TILL DAWN and (8) LITTLE CODE have faced better in their careers and gets a little relief here to add some value underneath.
