Gulfstream 5/14 Spot & Late Pick 3

Thursday racing at Gulfstream where we are going to look to take down two pick 3 plays. I am going to key in on races 5-7 with a pick 3 play and some vertical plays, and Big Pete will focus on races 8-10 and some vertical plays as well. Race 5:
Rain could be a factor later in the card, so there is a possibility of late scratches in this one. I think this race should be free of rain, so will play as a fast track on dirt. (2) Dizzy Gillespie and (3) Stone Hands will battle early in this one and have the ability to wire this field. I do like the (7) Charlie The Greek to close well at this distance with a quick early pace.

Race 6:
Christophe Clement is going to be a tough beat here with his two entries, (10) Fresco and (16) Flashing Red, so will include. I will also throw in the two firsters from the strong Pletcher barn and Joseph, Jr. barn to close out my plays here. They could be ready to go first time out, and I can live with being beaten by any other horse in this one. I just do not see any other horse being to the level of (10) Fresco.

Race 7:
(6) Beyond Gone is going to be my top selection here, as this horse is red hot at this distance and surface; I expect more of the same from this horse with Saez aboard. (5) Money Ride also will benefit from moving back to this distance and will be a tough contender here. (1) Maserati Man is the class of this race and is exiting a strong performance last time out, so will be a play. I do like (2) Ain't Wasting Time and (7) Valid Quest, but for the affordability of this ticket I will leave it with the first three horses stated.

Race 8:
(9) MIDNIGHT GEM went off the favorite two back when she dropped to face many of these. D’Angelo experimented with the 1M distance. Now cuts back to a suitable distance and will be a decent price today. (2) BLESSED BEAST got on track late to just miss. Both Pita and Vasquez have been hot lately so we’ll include. (4) CHIT CHAT GIRL drops back to this level where she beat Khozy two back. May take it all..

Race 9:
I’m drawing a line through (5) PACIFIC GALE’s last race. Not sure who that was. Kimmel drilled a quick breeze in her on May10th. That, along with Saez returning indicates to me that we’ll see the real Gale today. We won’t get the 8:1 ML, but half of that will be a gift. (1) BRONX BEAUTY was too ambitious trying G2 & G3 company. Now finds the right spot to get back to business. Irad must think so as well as he shows up here. Figuring one of these classy Mares will boss these ladies around today. (3) HEIRESSALL will be coming home late to keep them on their toes.

Race 10:
I’ll use four in here as this looks wide open. (5) ESPIRITU DE LUNA stands out as she drops to the basement and tries turf. (11) DOTDOTDASH and (12) HECHIZADA exit the same race where both were coming home late to just miss. Dot’s trip wasn’t the best so She gets the nod to come on top today. (4) PASATIME showed speed last time going longer. The instructions will be go and don’t look back. Maybe she’ll last with the cut back to 5F.
