Gulfstream 5/10 Spot & Late Pick 3

We are attacking the two pick 3 plays on this Mother's day racing action. Big Pete will be focusing in on the late pick 3 and I will be playing a spot pick 3 with races 5-7. We hope everyone can enjoy this day of celebration and can take more money than they put in. GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's Spot $0.50 Pick 3:

R5: 2, 5, 8, 9

R6: 2, 5

R7: 2, 4, 6, 10, 14

Cost: $20.00

Big Pete's Late $0.50 Pick 3:

R8: 3, 5, 6, 7

R9: 2, 3

R10: 2, 4, 9, 10

Cost: $16.00

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 5:

I am anticipating (3) Kaufy Futures to press the race early; which will open up some horses with late speed. I think this sets up well for (2) La Tres Jolie and (5) La Flamenca. Both of these should be stalking the early pace and have a nice stretch drive. I think that we will have to include the two outside horses in this one as well, just to cover us in to the next leg with (8) I'm That Bird and (9) Fiamma Mama

Race 6:

(2) Carolyn's Smile has single potential here as the horse is exiting a key race and could be putting it together to break her maiden. She should be looking to get to the lead early from the inside post and never look back. For a little coverage I would consider including (5) Jeanie's Angel and (6) Raspberry Ballet. (5) Jeanie's Angel has a good workout leading in and a great trainer/jockey combo. (6) Raspberry Ballet looks to be figuring something out on the track and could get to the winner's circle this time out.

Race 7:

Tough to go against (10) Trev here as the old guy is riding a four race win streak and the move to grass should only improve, so will include. For a little security, I will also include the stalking (6) Shared Legacy. I will also include (14) Vinnie Van Go, and (2) Island Tap and (4) Bernin' Thru Gold.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 8:

Was it the time off or the switch to Vasquez that woke up (7) CHAMPAGNEONME last time. I’m guessing both. He returns to the same level and 7F looks like the ideal distance for him. A must use for me. (5) GLORY OF FLORIDA was only 3 lengths behind Champagne two back and gets the major jock upgrade. Should get the jump on the closers and try to hang on. (6) FORTUNE COOKIE took a step back last time and I’m hesitant to jump aboard. Irad will try to find his form.

Race 9:

(2) FROSTED GRACE exits a key race as some have returned to post a W. A possible single but I’m a little leery of the jock switch. For that reason, I’ll include the possible lone speed candidate (3) RUNNING FOR RIZ. Was caught by Grace last time they met, but Riz needed to do some running early with other speeds. He may have an easier time up front today. I’ll throw on top for the upset.

Race 10:

I’ll use four runners to close out this late Pk3. (4) SOUTH SEA had some trouble last time when he dropped to this level. He’ll get another chance with Gaff up this time. What’s interesting is the Saez gets off the likely favorite and lands on 20:1 (2) KINGSVILLE. He’s been facing far better than these and cuts back to 6F. I can’t let him beat me. Both (9) QUIJOTE and (10) FRONT LOADED get the major jock switch as Irad and Edgard stick around for the nightcap.
