It is Irad Ortiz day at Gulfstream with his return to the track after being on the sideline with his family during the pandemic. Everyone is excited about this, except for the other jockeys who will lose some opportunities to win some of these races. We are going to stick with the PK3 plays from both of us. I am going to focus on races 8-10, and Big Pete is going to do races 10-12. We are riding a bit of momentum in to this one and look stay hot. GOOD LUCK.

Race 8:
I do not see a horse beating (8) Legit in this one and I think the son of curlin will have the perfect set up. I think that (3) Max K.O. will get to the early lead and try and wire this field. I like this to help (8) Legit's closing position to run this field down late. I will only include one other horse in the (4) Noble Thought because I think Davis will also have this horse in a good stalking position on the leaders and have a chance to win this one.

Race 9:
I am going to take the easy way out on this one and hit the ALL button on this six horse field. I anticipate a highly competitive race and hoping that a price can come in here. If I had to choose one of them, then I will go with (7) Attachment Rate who I like to close well late.

Race 10:
My top selection is going to be (6) Crypto Gold from the Mike Maker barn who has found his division and distance to run at. He is looking to go for three in a row and I like the chances of that happening. I will also include the other Mike Maker rider in the (10) Vegas Kitten who takes a class drop here and should be plenty of horse to compete for the win. Lastly, I will throw in Ortiz Jr. to ensure I do not lose to him on the last leg of this PK3 with the (4) Stock Trade.

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 10:
(10) VEGAS KITTEN seems to do his best running on or just off the pace. Both times against claimers, he was very competitive. The 10 hole is a little scary but there doesn’t seem to be lots of speed in here. Davis can send early to position himself to work out a clean trip. At least that’s what we’re hoping for. Maker’s other runner (6) CRYPTO GOLD has been very sharp since arriving at GP this year. Saez will let his stable mate dictate the pace, then make a run at Kitten for bragging rights. Irad will attract attention with (4) STOCK TRADE and I’ll use but, Mott has been struggling down here and I can’t use on top. (5) MARYLAND PRIDE faces slightly better than he’s used to but, always seems to hit the board when on the turf. Luca gets another chance with him.

Race 11:
Pletcher has the two main contenders with the two main jocks going at it. Difficult to leave both off your ticket. (2) SOLDADO beat a sharp Mihos who returned last week to run big. I’m expecting Soldado to improve here as well. (4) SPINOFF makes his 2020 debut and may have out worked his barn mate on Apr 11th for this. Take your pick, both will be a handful today. (1) MAJESTIC DUNHILL is a 7F specialist so 2nd is not out of the question at a price. Saez chooses the fav over (5) GLOBAL CAMPAIGN which tells me he may need this one for bigger and better races later on.

Race 12:
(7) W W ARCHIE gets an upgrade with the jock switch and has some speed to control up front. It’s now or never for this guy. I’m not sure where (2) HONOR THIS’ Mar 13th race came from but, if he does that again, he wins. Did it versus much better and maybe Reyes can help find it. I’m against (9) ANNUALIZED as Joseph continues to slump and drops this one to the basement. He’s try to get rid of him and hoping to find some magic by putting Ortiz Jr up. You may want to consider, but I’m leaving off. (6) GANGSTER OF LOVE has made steady progress to finally hit the board last time. The presence of Vasquez moves this guy up at a price.
