Gulfstream 4/23 Spot Pick 3 Plays

We are going to go a little on our own in our plays today at Gulfstream. I am going to focus on a spot PK3 for races 6-8, and Big Pete is going to key in on the late PK3 for races 8-10. We will also have some vertical plays in each of these races, so covering a good portion of the card. R9: 1, 6, 8
R10: 4, 5, 9, 10

Race 6:
I am going to single the start of this ticket, as I see (2) Untitled being the class and horse to beat here. The workouts leading in show this horse is ready to roll, and the steep class drop will be enough for this horse to get it done. Saez aboard is only a help and should be able to handle this field.

Race 7:
(3) Phat Man is scratched and changes the layout of this race. (9) Grand Journey is getting back to the mile distance and Landeros has been putting it together lately. I think this horse will be in a good stalking position and close well on this field. (1) Driven By Thunder has the speed to get to the early lead and want on the ticket in case other horses don't want to challenge him. (11) Dr. Edgar will be forwardly placed and the class on this one should be able to get it done. (12) Morocco has the Saez/Maker combo and needs to be a play for me.

Race 8:
(5) Bird Map is running fresh off the claim from the Saffie Joseph, Jr. barn and his record with this makes this horse a play. (1) Addison has some great workouts leading in and likes to hit the board. (4) Topo Grigio is coming out from the Pletcher barn and has Saez aboard; which makes this horse a play for me. (6) Lil Miss Hot Mess is going to close late and will be a play for me. (7) Kimura has the speed rider in Jaramillo and he has a horse who is capable of running.

Big Pete's Late $0.50 Pick 3:
Race 8:
(2) MONEY NEVER SLEEPS faced winners for the first time in her last and didn’t disappoint. Lost to a sharp Finding Fame but, was well clear of five rivals. She’s done nothing wrong since the Pompey claim three back and this Munnings filly should love the 7F. (5) BIRD MAP will be her main rival but Saez jumps ship for the Pletcher runner (4) TOPO GRIGIO so we’ll have to pay attention to her as well.

Race 9:
I like all three coming out of the Mar 26th Largent race. The one I’ll leab heavier on is (1) TEMPLE. This gelding is tearing down the barn door after his Apr 11th bullet. Maker subs is Saez as maybe Gaff miss timed his last run. Possible single for me. (8) AWARD WINNER finished behind (6) THE GREEN MO’STER last time but the 9F will help Award Winner last a little longer as the closers may forget about him up front.

Race 10:
We’ll spread out here as these runners are desperate and all have a hard time finding the finish line first. (10) SWEET STORY has two solid runs after the Klesaris claimed three back. Now she drops to an easier spot. Now or never for this Mare. (9) SPICY NELLY is the interesting one to me. This race lacks speed and Spicy and Reyes will take advantage of that. If she can get clear around the first turn, they won’t catch her. Both (4) TROPICALITY and (5) TRILBY will arrive late on the scene, but as usually, will most likely come up short. BUT, we’ll include, just in case.
