Gulfstream 4/16 Late Pick 3

We have some Thursday racing in South Florida, and we must be thankful that we still get to enjoy it in these trying times. We are going to start our racing week off with a late PK3 just to get ourselves settled in. We want to create some momentum to ride in to the weekend. Hope everyone is remaining safe out there and can enjoy today's small distraction.. GOOD LUCK.

Race 9:
Big Pete:
(7) UNPUBLISHED just couldn’t go the extra 1/16th last time as the closers got to him late in his last. Sheds some weight and moves out of the one hole. Catch me if you can today. The “other” Overdriven, (6) R MERCEDES BOY comes off the bench posting a fast breeze for this. Should stalk and try to get by his brother late. (3) HE IZ GONE gets a new pilot after a few issues last time.

This will be a competitive field here where I think we will have to spread a bit, but I fell for (5) Charlie the Greek. I think that this six furlong distance is perfect for him and I think he will get the speed up front he needs to close strong. I then think we should include some speed in this race to make sure we don't get wired here. (1) Cajun Brother, (2) Fast Loaded, and (9) Just Kidding are the most likely early speed horses and I think we should include all three in case no one can catch one of them. I will leave it at these four horses and see how it goes. I am hoping that this PK3 does not turn in to a late double because of the first leg.. CONFIDENCE!

Big Pete:
The Senior Citizen (5) TREV still has some zip in those 10 year old legs. However, there are many speeds signed on and it won’t be easy today as he moves up the ladder. (7) SARASOTA COUNTY almost got there last time after being off many Months. He’ll get a nice set-up today for Jersey Joe who takes over. (6) CUCINA won’t be happy after being gelded. He’ll look to take his frustration out on this group.

I am going to try and beat the morning line even money favorite (5) Trev here with horses who have already performed well on grass. (4) Quarky will be sent to the lead by Saez and has what it takes to wire the field. I also like the (9) Captain Ron and (10) Long Blade who both have blazing speed as well and will have plenty in the tank to run with (4) Quarky.

5.5F may be ideal for (1) SILENT TIGER. A clean break is a must from the rail but that’s why Gaff is being summoned. (7) FRENCH QUARTER won’t be that far behind and will offer a challenge late. Saez is the replacement which only helps. (4) VALDOCCO prefers to get 2nd but has won at this distance a couple of times.

(7) French Quarter has shown the most on the track and is a must play, but I think we should hedge a bit to close the PK3 ticket. (1) Silent Tiger and (9) Elusive Ro are two horses that I think have a chance to be up there with the heavy favorite and could pull this one off.
