We are looking to close the weekend on a winning note, so we are attacking the late PK4 today in South Florida. We hope everyone is remaining safe and sane out there, and hope you can enjoy the ponies as much as we do. GOOD LUCK.
Petes' Late Pick 4:
R7: 1, 2, 4, 6
R8: 3, 4, 5, 11
R9: 8
R10: 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12
Cost: $48.00
Race 7:
Big Pete:
Pompay claimed (2) REBELDE two back and she was rewarded with two decent runs on the turf. Was left with a lot to do last time after a bumpy start, but managed to get third. With the scratch of CASTAGNO, (1) BLAZING DESIRE might be able to control the pace and save a little at the end. (6) JUSTINTHENICKOTIME has been solid in his three races this year and gets Saez up today. Will get over bet but is hard to leave off horizontally.
$5.00 WPS 2 Cost: $15.00
$3.00 Ex 2,6 w/ 1,2,6 Cost: $12.00
Little Pete:
(1) Blazing Desire has a hot trainer and jockey who will look to wire this field and may just do it. We also should include the Saffie Joseph, Jr. horse in this one (4) Mystery Bank as he always has a horse ready to win at any level. (2) Rebelde likes to run down tired horses and I am thinking the quick pace of this one will have plenty of those and could even sneak in to the winner's circle.
$3.00 Ex 1 w/ 2,4 Cost: $6.00
$2.00 Ex 2,4 w/ 1,2,4 Cost: $8.00
Race 8:
Big Pete:
Maker sends out an uncoupled entry and I prefer (11) WESTERLAND. He’s been facing better and Paco lands here instead of riding two others. (4) MOROCCO should provide the pace and will be the one to catch. (5) VETTORI KIN finally gets back to the turf and is the horse to beat. The shorter distance is the only concern but should be right there.
$5.00 WPS 11 Cost: $15.00
$3.00 Ex 5,11 w/ 4,5,11 Cost: $12.00
Little Pete:
(3) Faraway Kitten gets Gaffalione for the third time and he will have this horse win this one. The horse has shown great ability to close on grass, and this field looks closeable. (4) Morocco will also be charging late and Mike Maker is on a roll. (11) Westerland has shown he is a strong contender at this level and is a good play here for me.
$2.00 Ex Box 3,4,11 Cost: $12.00
Race 9:
Big Pete:
Potential single here with (8) ANGELIA. She out worked the Florida Derby 3rd place finisher on 3/21 and she faces a slightly softer bunch than last time. Pletcher is back to winning races at Gulfstream and stretches this Curlin out to the right distance. Not a lot to say about the others. Maybe (1) REMARKABLE SOUL can put them to sleep early and hang on for a piece at a price.
$10.00 Ex 8 w/ 1,3 Cost: $20.00
Little Pete:
(8) Angelia looks beatable here, but needs to be a play in the PK4. I am going to try and beat with (6) Believe Indeed and (7) Navasha who both have shown the ability on dirt and I anticipate a big race from both.
$2.00 Ex Box 6,7,8 Cost: $12.00
Race 10:
Big Pete:
I can endorse any of the runners that have already run. I will spread out with all the first time starters as they don’t need to be special to beat these. The one that interest me the most is (8) L’INDISCRET. Tagg worked this one faster than the Derby winner, TIZ IN Law on 3/08. This filly is bred top and bottom to excel on the lawn. I’m in.
$5.00 WPS 8 Cost: $15.00
Little Pete:
A nice race to close the card that we will need to spread ourselves around to make sure we are covered in this craps shoot race. (3) ShareTheGoodTimes has a bullet workout leading in and looks like a horse that could come out strong in her first race. (6) Urban Fairytale has improved each race out and this could be the race where she puts it together to win it. (7) Key Biscane has also shown some potential in previous races and could be figuring it out. Three firsters that look good and may include if the price is right on the ticket are (8) L'Indiscret, (10) Renata, and (12) Pop A Choc.
