Happy Florida Derby day that will be spent on the couch. We should expect some high payouts today with all of the money that will be played today in South Florida. We are keying in on the late PK4; which includes some big fields and all stakes races. (5) SPICE IS NICE has been touted from the start. She may have been caught off guard last time and let (9) TONALIST’S SHAPE control the last race. Look for her to be engaged in the early and out sprint them home. Mott switches to Rosario on (4) LAKE AVENUE. Guessing Joel guns to the lead here and will try to hold off Spice.

(9) Tonalist's Shape is a must play for the PK4 and will be tough to beat here, but we need to spread a little bit. (5) Spice is Nice is looking for redemption against (9) Tonalist's Shape and who doesn't love a comeback story? Two other horses that I like in this one are (4) Lake Avenue and (7) Lucrezia who I believe both will benefit with a battle of the first two horses early.

Here’s your single if you are trying to keep this Pk4 manageable. (9) ZULU ALPHA figures to be a handful and has dominated his rivals in two starts this year. The only one that scares me is last years winner (10) FOCUS GROUP. Similar schedule as last year and shows up with Saez up. I’ll only use these two.

Will we have a Tyler Gaffalione double here with (9) Zulu Alpha? It sure looks to be a pretty good chance, so why fight it? I will include a couple of horses that have a late chance to pass, but (9) Zulu Alpha looks to be a good candidate for a single. (1) Channel Cat learned from his last time out against (9) Zulu Alpha and I expect some improvement in results here. I also like (3) Spooky Channel to improve from last time out against (9) Zulu Alpha and have a clear shot at winning this one. (10) Focus Group is coming off a long layoff, but has the best closing speed of the field and if he can manage a good early trip then he will be a handful late.

(12) EL TORMENTA returns off the freshening to start his campaign. Beat Get Stormy two back then got tired in the BC Mile. A little class relief today should do the trick. I like (3) MARCH TO THE ARCH for a slight upset here. He’s not shy to the G1 scene and has two big runs under his belt this year. Plenty of speed showed up to set up his late kick. (10) SOMBEYAY is the one to catch. We’ll use because Saez is up.

I like (5) Maraud to get to the early lead and set a good early pace, which sets up my top selection for this race (3) March To The Arch. I think that this horse has enough pace in him to stalk the lead and have the most left in the tank late to win this one. We will have to spread a bit, but I feel pretty good about this horse. (2) Hembree is also another horse that I like to stalk the lead and close well, so will be a play. (4) Ballagh Rocks is a must play as well with his closing speed. (7) Social Paranoia and (12) El Tormenta are the two horses that I like on the outside who have plenty of class and will be tough opponents. Will have to see how we can play this race to make it an affordable ticket.

I’m leaning heavy on (7) TIZ THE LAW. This guy hasn’t missed a beat. Won fairly easy in the FOY, and if he brings his A game, I’m expecting more of the same today. Manny arrived early to get thru quarantine. The only other that I’ll mention is (5) GOUVERNEUR MORRIS. Pletcher usually has them ready for this meet and might make it interesting close to home.

(9) Independence Hall and (12) Ete Indien both like to get to the lead and maintain that lead throughout, which I think sets up perfectly for (7) Tiz The Law. I also think this sets up a good late run from (5) Gouverneur Morris who could be a big number by post time.
