Gulfstream 3/21 Late Pick 4

This virus doesn't play favorites and is something that we all take very seriously. We are lucky to have some quarantined racing in south Florida today, and hope all associated remain safe throughout. We are going to look to take down the late PK4 today; which are races 9-12. With everyone being home and a little more time on their hands, we are anticipating a nice pool in this one. GOOD LUCK..

Race 9:
Big Pete:
I landed on the two Will Take Charge’s for this 5F sprint. (3) TAKE CHARGE EH ships down and has posted some fast works in the AM. Came out running in her debut and I’m expecting the same here off the brief vacation. Change to Davis won’t hurt her chances. (5) MRS. MAISEL moves back to the turf where she belongs. Likes it here at GP and Pompay is enjoying a nice meet.

I am going to leave it with just two horses this race, (3) Take Charge Eh and (4) Hear My Prayer. This 5 furlong sprint on grass is going to be quick, and Paco Lopez excels at these types of races and is my top selection for this race. (4) Hear My Prayer will get to the front early and wishes someone tries to beat her. (3) Take Charge Eh is getting a slight class drop and raced well last time out on dirt and I anticipate that to transfer to grass. Plus, good form coming in with the workouts as well.

Most of these runners are facing winners for the first time. Not an easy task. I’ll go with the most experience here with (1) WE MISS SUSIE. A re-Pete of her last two would be enough. Will most likely stalk the leaders and make a run late. Paco and Cibelli are winning often down there. (2) WANDERLUST made it look easy in her debut. She’s the one to watch out for. Ritvo probably has her ready today.

(5) Hopeful Growth will be my top selection in this one with Jose Ortiz aboard. I am thinking that the 6 furlongs is the perfect distance for this horse at this time after last time out at 4 1/2. (6) I Dare U is getting some distance relief here and will have plenty in the tank to take down the early speed late. Just for a little more coverage I will include (2) Wanderlust who is undefeated in her career and could have some nice closing speed to hit the board.

(4) ANOTHER MIRACLE will be on everyone’s ticket and our’s as well. But, we’ll try to beat him. (6) IKEISGREAT woke up last time and figured out this game posting the easiest win on the dirt. The switch to turf will not be an issue for him. (2) AYE AYE SIR will try to put them to sleep early and hang on for dear life late.

This is another two horse race for me with (2) Aye Aye Sir and (4) Another Miracle. (2) Aye Aye Sir beat (5) Cajun Casanova last time out at this distance and I expect more the same from him. He has the speed to stalk a fast pace and pass these tiring horses with conviction. (4) Another Miracle is getting some class relief in this one and Dylan Davis has a speed horse and he knows what to do with him. This horse looks to be the one to beat, but my top selection will be (2) Aye Aye Sir.

Race 12:
Big Pete:
I’m leaning heavy on (2) GREAT KAHUNA to wire this field. It appears he’ll have the pace all to himself as we have a bunch of stalkers and closers signed on. (6) PHILO and (7) BONDURANT have similar running styles so which ever jock out smarts the other will have the advantage. I’ll use all three here.

This looks to be a pretty wide open race and I am thinking that we will have to spread ourselves out a bit. I am personally looking for closers in this one. (11) Tizzarunner has to be a play for us and is the most likely winner. Very good closer on turf and should be a handful in this one. (8) Cash Call Kitten looks to be in good form and will be a contender late in the race to take this one. (7) Bondurant has the same connections as (11) Tizzarunner so going to include for some trainer coverage. (4) Toupha is my price play here who has shown good late speed to pass tiring horses.
