We are looking to close- the weekend off with some cashed tickets at Gulfstream. We are going to remain focusing in on a pair of pick 3 plays that cover the pick 6 sequence. I will be keying in on races 6-8 sand Big Pete will be attacking races 9-11. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race that we would like to try and improve our bankroll on. R7: 2, 4, 5, 8
R8: 3, 6, 7, 11
Cost: $40.00
Big Pete's $0.50 Late Pick 3:
R9: 4, 5, 6, 7
R10: 2, 3, 11, 12
R11: 2, 3, 5, 9
Cost: $32.00
Little Pete and Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 1:
Little Pete:
Lower level claiming race to start the card off and I am going to trust Saez to get this one. I think that (7) Unpopular Opinion's biggest threat is directly to his outside in (8) Seize the Day and I think being right to his inside will be a strong benefit early. Saez will allow this horse to find his footing and sit behind the early pace and be able to save ground in here to be ready to roll come stretch time.
$5.00 WPS 7 Cost: $15.00
Big Pete:
Maidens go long on the turf to start this card and (7) UNPOPULAR OPINION is the one dropping in class. If that isn’t enough, Saez gets the call as well. This Carpe Diem wants more ground and should find this 9F to his liking. All in if we get this 7:2 ML.
$ 7.00 WPS 7 Cost $ 21.00
We’ll use him on top with the other Carpe Diem and the Colonel John runners in the exacta.
(3) Beyond The Call and (8) Seize The Hay
$ 7.00 Exacta 7 w/ 3, 8 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use Unpopular Opinion in R1 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
(6) Big Frank and (7) Sidarth look solid in the 2nd
$ 7.00 Double 7 w/ 6, 7 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 6:
This lower level race is going to be a tough race to handicap in my opinion. For that reason I am going to include five horses that I think could have a chance. (10) A Beautiful Day is an interesting horse in here for me with the aggressively riding Paco Lopez aboard. This horse will be sent to the lead by Paco and I think may have the ability at this level to not be passed and worth a try on the ticket. I like (2) HopontheBusGus and (3) Feature Creature to like the early pace and run a similar race as they did last time out together where (2) HopeontheBusGus got the best of them. I think both horses have a strong case in here and a good play for me. (8) Scatnap is a horse dropping into this level who has shown the ability against better and is getting a safety play for me in case this horse is just too good for the bunch. My last play will be (11) Afficionado who gets a jockey improvement in here and has run extremely well at this level and distance in the past.
$3.00 WPS 10 Cost: $9.00
$1.00 Ex 2,3,10 w/ 2,3,8,10,11 Cost: $12.00
Race 7:
Another lower level field where I landed on four horses. (4) Smash is going to be my speed horse early and I think will be sent to the lead. This horse may be able to sustain a big run at this distance and will include on my ticket. (2) Resident is a horse that I like, but do not love. I think that this horse will be able to get a nice trip from the inside post and at this level I prefer better post positions and jockey trips compared to the horse's natural ability. (5) Aequor is a horse that I like to also find an inside position after the break and have a chance to run down the field late. (8) Toupha is going to make up ground from the break and be in the top three early. I think this horse has ran against better and could be too much to handle late.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 4,5 w/ 2,4,5,8 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 2,8 w/ 2,4,5,8 Cost: $6.00
Race 8:
Basing my plays off of (5) Mimina's Team to set some pretty quick time fractions with some early competition which I think exposes this horse to be run down late down the stretch. (7) Princesa Caroline is taking a class drop into this one and her running style matches what I think will happen in here, so gets a play. (6) Kissing Frogs is an interesting play in here who broke her maiden last time out and typically is a big ask to win next time out against winners, but I think the race will set up well for this filly and will include. (3) DeclarationWarrior is a horse that I like to get an aggressive ride from the favorable post position and have enough late to pass the early speed and be a strong contender in here. Last play will be (11) Setting the Mood who I think will enjoy the shorter distance and run a big one in here.
$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 3,7 w/ 3,6,7,11 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 6,11 w/ 3,6,7,11 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 9:
(7) TRISOMA drops to the bottom which is always scary, but has races in his pp’s that make him a contender. We’ll use defensively, but try to beat him. (6) YOUNG RAYMOND usually fires every so often so today looks like the right time to include after an even run last time vs similar. I’ll take a small shot with other 8yr old on the switch back to Zayas. (5) DR HARLAN seems to like the GP dirt as he was running faster than these this summer facing slightly better. He meets the right group here to be dangerous at decent odds. (4) VINCENT WILLIAM can control the front end if the other jocks fall asleep. He wired better this summer here.
$7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 5,7 w/ 4,5,6,7 Cost: $18.00
Race 10:
Maker and Gaff teamed up on (3) APRECIADO two back to just miss against similar. He has races that would be good enough against these today so they are a must use for me. Pletcher is always tough to leave off your ticket down here as (2) MO READY drops in for an easier spot and cuts back to a more manageable 1M distance. I will lean on the Liam’s Map gelding (12) CHURN N BURN to show up today. He seems to like the grass better and also finds an easier spot. Wilkes drilled him in the morning after shipping him down and Leparoux fits him like a glove. (11) GAUGUIN rarely wins but like to hit the board.
$7.00 WPS 12 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 3,12 w/ 2,3,11,12 Cost: $18.00
Race 11:
(5) ROCKET JOE COPPER ran big last time after a tardy start to beat similar. It would not be a surprise to come right back. (2) MID DAY IMAGE will get lost in the betting but is capable of taking them a long way. With the inside post and not many other speeds, Prado will try to steal this one. I landed on the Maker/Gaff team with (3) IMPERIAL MISSION. They ship this gelding in and drop in for a breather. Should sit chilly mid-pack and make a run late in the game. Saffie also drops (9) TILL THE END just enough to make this guy a must use. He’s been consistent all year looks like the horse to beat.
