We hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas weekend and we hope to improve the bankroll rolling into the New Year. We are going to travel south and look to take down a pair of pick 3 plays which covers the pick 6 sequence at Gulfstream. I am going to be keying in on races 6-8 and Big Pete will be focusing in on races 9-11. We also will have our "Play of the Day" on a race we would like to try and increase our bank account. Make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to receive new blog post notifications and a weekly blog sent to your email. GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
I like three horses in here that I think we can cash in on a nice exacta and a WPS on a firster. (6) Perspective had a nice debut against a similar field and looks to be a strong player here. I do not see much competition in here from other horses with experience and think this horse is a logical place play. I really like (2) King Cairo in here with those workouts leading in. I think that Irad has a speed horse and I landed on this horse on top. I also would like to include (3) Naco who I think could make some noise first time out against this level. I think that this horse will be able to find his footing down the stretch and run on with it late.
$5.00 WPS 2 Cost: $15.00
$3.00 Ex 2 w/ 3,6 Cost: $6.00
$2.00 Ex 3,6 w/ 2,3,6 Cost: $8.00

Race 5:
The main focus will be on both of Pletcher’s runners. Which is fine, but neither jump off the page to me. With both jocks named, they will both be very short odds. This opens the door for decent prices on the rest. I’m locked in to (6) KING FORCE. The Dialed In’s tend to like more ground so the 7F seems perfect to get his career off and running. A nice gate breeze on 12/19 should have this one ready. Avila has hit the board over 50% this meet so I’ll climb aboard.
$ 7.00 WPS 6 Cost $ 21.00
We’ll use her on top with the favorites in the exacta.
(2) Amount and (3) Eamonn
$ 7.00 Exacta 6 w/ 2, 3 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use King Force in R5 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
(4) Focus Group and (6) Tintoretto look solid in the 6th
$ 7.00 Double 6 w/ 4, 6 Cost $ 14.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 6:
I think this is a highly competitive race and can make the case for a decent amount of the field in here. I landed on four in here and going to leave it at that. My top pick is going to be an aggressive riding Gaffalione to put his horse, (9) Treasure Trove, to the lead and be able to save some energy in this 2 mile marathon race. I think that the horse will be allowed the lead and if Tyler can run some favorable fractions early then I think this horse has the ability to run on with it and I always like forwardly placed horses. (4) Focus Group is a horse I like to be sitting behind that pace and this horse looks to be in very good form and will be able to sustain a big run in here. (5) Conviction Trade is a horse I think that will benefit most from the stretch out. I think that Irad will sit off the pace early and allow the horse to find his footing and have plenty left come stretch time. My last play will be (2) Muralist who is 15/1 morning line, but I think will be closer to 7/1 come post time. I really like this horse to be a late closer and think that a ground saving trip will allow Paco to have a chance to run past the tiring horses and hit the wire first.
$3.00 WPS 9 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 4,9 w/ 2,4,5,9 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 2,5 w/ 2,4,5,9 Cost: $6.00
Race 7:
I again am going to have to go four deep in here with my top pick being (7) Greatest Honour. I think that Saez will be able to be aggressive from the gate against this field and possibly wire the field. (1) Another Duke has shown the closing ability that is dangerous in these 1 1/16 mile races and Paco is dangerous down the stretch. (2) Maximum Moment ran a pretty good debut race and comes into this one training extremely well. I will include this horse in case the early pace is quick and this horse is right behind that pace. (5) Bourbon HIghway is a bit of a price that I would like to try. This horse is trying dirt for the first time and I think that might be a winning move in here. This horse has not had a firm surface to run on in his career and I think the pedigree will stand out in this one.
$3.00 WPS 7 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 1,7 w/ 1,2,5,7 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 2,5 w/ 1,2,5,7 Cost: $6.00
Race 8:
I think that (5) Sole Volante moving back to grass in this one is a great move and this horse is going to be my top pick in here. I think the distance as well is going to better suit this horse and will be able to show off some early speed in here to run a big beyer speed in here. (6) Colonel Liam is also a logical play in here for me and Irad knows how to win on grass, especially with a horse that possesses the speed this one does. (9) Fancy Liquor is another horse that I think will get an aggressive ride in here and if this horse is allowed to dictate fractions then I think this horse has a strong case to keep on running in here. My last play will be the other Pletcher horse in (1) Summer to Remember who I think will be able to workout a trip in here from the rail and I always love having Saez on my ticket whenever I play.
$3.00 WPS 5 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 5,6 w/ 1,5,6,9 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 1,9 w/ 1,5,6,9 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 9:
(5) SILVERLY ENOUGH always brings his A game. 9 for 12 in the money finishes and comes in here on the improve, after almost overcoming a rough trip to just miss last time. Clear sailing will make the difference today. (4) FRONT LOADED beat Silver when they met 9/19. He’s also consistent as he’s 50% 1st or 2nd in 38 lifetime attempts. These two should be coming late. The better trip will decide it. (2) SEPTEMBERTEN threw in the towel last time and now drops. Not a good sign BUT, Saez shows up. If you draw a line through that race and throw in Luis, this guy looks scary. If (7) DOC AMSTER can control the front end, this 3yrs may get brave on the lead.
$7.00 WPS 5 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 4,5 w/ 2,4,5,7 Cost: $18.00
Race 10:
The three favorites look the part. (2) STUNNING SKY gets the Irad upgrade and (10) SPEAKTOMEOFSUMMER gets a little class relief. The only negative is that they don’t win very often. They found the right group but I’ll key on (4) VIGILANTES WAY instead. She seems to like the grass and finally gets a firm course to run on. A Re-Pete of her last two makes this filly the horse to beat. (11) ASK BAILY will be the wise-guy choice as he just missed against EvilLyn last time and is the “other” Maker who happens to get Luis up.
$7.00 WPS 4 Cost: $21.00
$3.00 Ex 2,4 w/ 2,4,10,11 Cost: $18.00
Race 11:
(1) DERBY CHAMPAGNE was closing in against a heavy favorite last time and meets a similar field today. Took some time off this summer and has worked himself back in shape for this. He’s your likely winner. (5) DONJI has some speed and gets the jock upgrade. If they leave him alone, Luis takes them all the way. I want to take a shot with (7) ANOTHER to beat them both. He dropped to this level last time and got close to tipping the “Champagne” after a few slight steadies around the oval. Looking for a clean trip here and Zayas returns. (9) UHTRED finally gets a rider and has a couple of races that puts him in the conversation.
