We are changing our focus to Churchill on this Sunday afternoon, as we had ourselves a nice day at the split tracks. We ended up being up net $450.80 on the day between our two Pick 3 and Pick 5 ticket, plus the vertical plays in each of those races. We are looking to keep that momentum rolling in to today with some additional money to play with. We are using the same pens as yesterday, so really like our chances of repeating a big day. I will be focusing on races 5-7 and Big Pete will be focusing in on races 8-10. We will also have vertical plays in each of those races to hedge our two horizontal tickets. If you have any insights in to any of these races that we may not have touched on, then please let's discuss on Twitter (@PetesPicks1) to make sure we cover everything. GOOD LUCK.

Big Pete's Late $0.50 Pick 3:

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 5:

They are anticipating rain around 3 pm; which is the scheduled post time of this one. We may have some late scratches in this one and the races moving forward. For this claiming race I am going to spread just a bit for the unproven ones. (2) Bold Esther is coming off of an 85 beyer speed race and had a decent showing, plus the workout leading in shows the horse is going to be live. If the track is wet by the time they take off that will even play better to this horse, so will include. (11) Love My Honey will look to get to the early lead right out of the gate from an outside post and challenge the others to keep up and chase her down. I will include in case no one steps up to the challenge. (1) Carina is getting some distance relief and her sustained running ability could put her in a good position to close late down the stretch. My last play here is going to be a little bit of a price in (4) Twisted Emotions. I think this horse should translate well to this track and be in a good position to pass tiring horses.

$2.00 Ex 2,11 w/ 1,2,4,11 Cost: $12.00

Race 6:

I landed on three horses in this crowded race on the turf. We will keep an eye on the track conditions because the rain could be a factor. (2) Sister Hanan has plenty of speed to either get to the early lead from the inside or in a good stalking position early. This horse should have a nice trip and is my most likely winner here. (3) EnjoyItWhileWeCan is a good play whether the weather is a factor or not; this horse will be there late. My price play is (12) Crystal Lake; this horse has two bullet workouts leading in to this race and is biting at the bit for a quick thunderstorm to get this horse a wet track. This horse being on the extreme outside should shoot out of the gate and get to the early lead and this could be her day.

$2.00 Ex Box 2,3,12 Cost: $12.00

Race 7:

This is a competitive maiden special weight race which had me take a stand and choose my top three. (12) Per Capita is going to be a handful in this one and has already proven himself to enjoy this distance and I expect this horse to get to the lead and not look back. Two horses that I like to improve second time out on dirt are (2) Oak Room and (5) Established. I think both of these horses are going to enjoy the stretch out and have plenty left to compete to win this one.

$2.00 Ex Box 2,5,12 Cost: $12.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3

Race 8:

Amoss has entered a rabbit for (1) CHARMING LADY to target. She prefers sprinting, so Talamo will place Lady behind her stablemate and tip out when the holes open. I’ll bookend this field with (11) HALLAWALLAH from the outside. She also prefers the sprint game and cuts back to where she belongs. If Santana can save some ground from out there, She’ll will be a handful. (10) FOUR GRANDS also cuts back which should make her stretch kick dangerous. If Johnny V times it right, she’ll make it close.

$7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex Box 1,10,11 Cost: $18.00

Race 9:

(1) MERCILLA looks like she can run all day. Castellano should be able to save some ground, then let her go as he chooses. The 9F will make him pull the trigger early than she’s used to. (3) CHALEUR makes her US debut and stretches out. She bred to handle it and Mott seems to have some runners stabled at the Twins Spires as he’s off to a good start. I’ll spread a little more as both (12) ANGEL OF MISCHIEF and (8) WAR CABINET have been consistent enough to show up big on any given day.

$7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 1,3 w/ 1,3,8,12 Cost: $12.00

Race 10:

We’ll have to include (5) PETE’S PLAY CALL for obvious reasons but he also has the speed figures that match up to these. We’ll spread though to include (4) ALMITHMAAR. This Tapit needed his last after the 1year absence. The bullet work in early May should have him on his toes for this. I like the Blame gelding (9) HOLLY BLAME returning to Churchill. His best two races came on this track at this distance. Finally, (2) MOJOVATION’s last two races would make him tough here and Sadler makes the switch to Rosario.

$5.00 WPS 9 Cost: $15.00

$3.00 Ex 2,4 w/ 2,4,5,9 Cost: $18.00
