Another big day at Delmar as Day 2 of the Breeder's Cup continues. I will be looking to take down an early double (Races 3 & 4) and a spot pick 3 (Races 7-9). Big Pete will have a couple of "Plays of the Day" and be looking to take down the late pick 3 (Races 10-12). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's $2.00 Early Double:

R3: 1, 2, 7

R4: 5, 6

Cost: $12.00

Little Pete's $ 0.50 Spot Pick 3:

R7: 4, 6, 7, 8

R8: 2, 5, 8, 9

R9: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

Cost: $ 40.00

Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:

R10: 2, 6, 14

R11: 7, 8, 10, 14

R12: 1, 3, 4, 9

Cost: $ 48.00

Little Pete's $2.00 Early Double:

Race 3:

(1) Zofelle is my top pick in here getting the inside post and Tyler Gaffalione back aboard. This horse is going to be able to find the rail early and challenge the pace. I think that makes a difference late and this horse is finding the next gear down the stretch. (2) Princess Grace is too tough to leave off the ticket with the late closing speed and coming in winning the last (4). (7) Going Global is similar in running styles and just too good to leave off the ticket. I think the (1) Zofelle will be a decent price come post time and excited to cash in on this one.

$3.00 WPS 1 Cost: $9.00

$3.00 Ex 1 w/ 2,7 Cost: $6.00

$2.00 Ex 2,7 w/ 1,2,7 Cost: $8.00

Race 4:

(5) Gamine is too good for this short field and will most likely wire. I will be including the lightly raced (6) Bella Sofia who has a tall task to overcome sitting to the outside of (5) Gamine and going to look to be on the lead as well. This race just appears to be one that I shouldn't overthink and stick with the best horse in the race, even at the low odds she will be at post time.

$10.00 WIN 5 Cost: $10.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 5:

Ward has a few in here and I can’t leave them out. I like (9) KIMARI just a little bit more than (3) Golden Pal. She hasn’t been running much on the grass but I think that’s where she belongs. She beat some fast sprinters in the G1 Madison last time and looks to be in great form. Rosario likely sits just off and then lets her loose turning for home.

$ 7.00 WPS 9 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex Box 3, 9, 12 Cost $ 18.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Race 6:

Pletcher has a superstar in (5) LIFE IS GOOD. He just missed against Jackie two back, then used the G2 Kelso as a public workout. This guy is probably best at this 1M distance and there is just no fire power in here to bring him down.

We’ll use him on top of a couple of prices and just enjoy the show.

$ 10.00 Exacta 5 w/ 6, 7 Cost $ 20.00

Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:

Race 7:

I landed on four horses in here with my top pick being (4) Rougir. This horse loves to fly down the lane late and I think will be able to fan out wide to run down the front runners in this marathon. It is expected to be a fun ending and I like horses that eat up ground late. (6) Love is another horse that seems to eat up ground quickly down the stretch and the Ryan Moore angle seems to pay off in these turf races. (7) War Like Goddess represents my US play as this horse is on an impressive winning streak and looks poised to keep that going. My last play will be (8) Loves Only You who is a very impressive horse running against some impressive fields and consistently performing well.

$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 4,7 w/ 4,6,7,8 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 6,8 w/ 4,6,7,8 Cost: $6.00

Race 8:

(2) Jackie's Warrior has her work cut out in this one. I think she will find the early lead as she typically does, but her foe to her inside, (1) Following Sea, will challenge throughout. I think that opens up the lane late for (5) Aloha West to come SHOOTING down the lane. I also think that (8) Special Reserve will be sitting right behind the pace and trust Irad Ortiz to find that next gear late. (9) Dr. Schivel has the speed and Flavien Prat is going to be aggressive throughout with this dangerous horse.

$3.00 WPS 5 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 5,8 w/ 2,5,8,9 Cost: $12.00

$1.00 Ex 2,9 w/ 2,5,8,9 Cost: $6.00

Race 9:

(6) Mo Forza is my top pick in here who should be set up well late to be the fastest down the stretch. I trust Flavien Prat to be aggressive enough early to get the position and allow this horse to use his natural speed late. (3) Space Blues has the post position and coming in winning two from overseas. I just can't leave this horse off the ticket on grass. (4) Raging Bull has been training well coming into this one and with the presence of speed I think this horse will be able to use the late speed to his advantage. (5) Vin De Garde I think will be ridden aggressively from the gate and find the early lead. This horse is a bit of an unknown in the states, but the pedigree looks good and might have the trip to get this one done at a price. (7) In Love is coming in after winning three in a row and that late speed is what I am looking for.

$3.00 WPS 6 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 3,6 w/ 3,4,5,6,7 Cost: $16.00

Big Pete's Late Pick 3:

Race 10:

(6) LUTRUSKA will be a short price and tough to beat. She is a must use to move on here but I’m looking for more. Brown has (2) ROYAL FLAG clicking right now. They almost caught the fav in the Personal Ensign and then followed that up with her best performance yet. She looks to be the danger and I’m all in. You can’t discount Baffert when he shows up. (1) PRIVATE MISSION looks slower on paper but grabs the rail and has speed to keep close. The other Brown (14) DUNBAR ROAD has been chasing Lutruska and wasn’t that far behind. With added speed in here, the race seems to set up the stalkers and closers today. I’ll include with Jose in the irons.

$ 7.00 WPS 2 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 2, 6 w/ 1, 2, 6, 14 Cost $ 18.00

Race 11:

Appleby came very prepared with his runners. He won yesterday and now is looking more. (7) WALTON STREET dominated up North last time and looks primed for a Re-Pete. The same could be said about (10) YIBIR. He’s the baby at 3yrs old but is bred to excel at this 12F marathon as he never broke a sweat last time. Either can win but I’ll side with Yiber. (14) JAPAN just didn’t show up last time. I think we see the guy who just missed the Sword Dancer today. O’Brien puts go to guy up for this. (8) SISFAHAN is interesting. He’s also a 3yr old that makes the trip over. Connections must feel good about their selves to show up here. .

$ 7.00 WPS 10 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 7, 10 w/ 7, 8, 10, 14 Cost $ 18.00

Race 10:

(3) HOT ROD CHARLIE has quietly climbed to the top of his division. There is nothing between him and (4) ESSENTIAL QUALITY. Both, on there best day, would take this Classic. The only difference I see is Saez. He’ll get the nod over Prat. I’m going in a different direction with the focus on the 3yr olds. I like Irad and (1) TRIPOLI in here. They figure to save ground and stalk the likely hot pace. The 10F fits well for this Kittens’ Joy and he appears to excel on the Delmar dirt. (9) MAX PLAYER has become a player in his last two outings. After some dull efforts to kick off 2021, he has turned it around and is the potential upset candidate.

$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 21.00

$ 3.00 Ex 1, 4 w/ 1, 3. 4, 9 Cost $ 18.00
