Belmont Park action on this Saturday as we move closer to the big move upstate. We have 10 races and have you covered on all of them. I will be looking to take down the early double (Races 1-2) and a middle pick 3 (Races 5-7) . Big Pete will have his full breakdown on his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 (Races 8-10). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $4.00 Early Double:
R1: 6
R2: 5, 6, 7
Cost: $12.00
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R5: 4, 5, 7, 8
R6: 1, 2, 4
R7: 2, 3, 8, 9
Cost: $48.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R8: 1, 5, 6
R9: 3, 7, 10, 11
R10: 6, 7, 11, 12
Cost: $ 48.00
Little Pete's Early Double:
Race 1:
(6) Ransom Style has the pedigree, the workouts, and the jockey to get it done first time out. We will single the Pletcher horse in here and look for value underneath. (1A) Maria From Miami has some nice workouts coming in and I think will get an aggressive ride from the gate; this should make a difference late.
$5.00 WPS 6 Cost: $15.00
$3.00 Ex 6 w/ 1,5,7 Cost: $9.00
Race 2:
(5) Linny Kate is a dangerous horse in this one to wire the field. We should expect Kendrick to be aggressive from the jump and challenge any foe trying to pass late. (6) Basilia is going to be finding her best footing late and Javier will fan out wide to let this horse run free down the stretch. (7) Lady of Thoroton is my last play in here with some class relief and how the race should play out. There will be early speed and this horse will find the rail early. The goal is to sit chilly throughout and find the rail gap late to make a stretch drive to hit the wire first.
$3.00 Ex Box 5,6,7 Cost: $18.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
We’ve reached the bottom of the barrel with this MCL 25k event. I want no part of the 3:5 ML on the Noda runner. Sure he can win but, how can you trust anyone with confidence at this level. With Tuesday’s Child in here, he will force the issue and make the front runners work. If they let him go off, He might be the danger. I’m looking for someone to sit chilly and let the others tire themselves out. That would be (5) EL VEINTICUATRO for Rudy and Prat. 0 for 10 is hard to get past but look at the field. He mounted a decent run last time and gets to go more ground today. He looks to be sitting on one today.
$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Exacta 5 w/ 2, 6 Cost $ 14.00
We’ll also use El Veinticuatro in R3 and try to cash in on a DAILY DOUBLE play.
(1) Life is Good looks solid in the 4th
$ 10.00 Double 5 w/ 1 Cost $ 10.00
Little Pete's Spot Pick 3:
Race 5:
The two firsters look extremely dangerous in this one and will be including both; (4) Internal Capital and (5) Capensis. I will also be including the other Brown runner who should improve drastically second time out in (7) Running Bee. The last play will be (8) Emboite second time out from the long layoff and coming into this one very strong. This horse will get a rail ride and should be extremely live late.
$3.00 WPS 4 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 4,8 w/ 4,5,7,8 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 5,8 w/ 4,5,7,8 Cost: $6.00
Race 6:
(1) Bold Victory should be the favorite come post time with the experience and how well the horse is training right now; must play IMO. (2) Endowed flexed on the competition last time out and that is tough to look past, I just would prefer this horse in a bigger race. (4) WriteItOnTheIce is an extremely interesting play in here who did no running last time out and looked impressive breaking his maiden. I will look past that effort and expect this horse to be forwardly placed throughout and have the late kick needed to make this race extremely fun late.
$3.00 Ex Box 1,2,4 Cost: $18.00
Race 7:
The Clement horses are the most likely winners in here and will be including both. I am leaning on Manny Franco in this one and would prefer to invest in the (3) Autumn Glory. (8) Makin My Move has the early speed and the jockey to be aggressive in here. We should expect this horse to shoot from the outside and find the lead or sit right behind it. This horse has shown the late ability to eat up grass and I trust Jose Ortiz to give this horse a great ride. My last play will be (9) Dufresne who also possesses some good early speed and should get a rail riding trip in here to have some stamina late.
$3.00 WPS 3 Cost: $9.00
$2.00 Ex 3,8 w/ 2,3,8,9 Cost: $12.00
$1.00 Ex 2,9 w/ 2,3,8,9 Cost: $6.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 8:
We have a short field of 3yr old colts go at it for this G3 Dwyer. Pletcher and (1) CHARGE IT will look to get back on track after a no show in the Derby. The 1M fits well with this Tapit and look for Johnny V to try to take control early. Brown counters with a new shooter in (6) NABOKOV. He’s bred to be a good one but he faces winners for the first time which is not an easy task so we’ll use as a savor here. If both of these go at it up front, I like the Gun Runner gelding, (5) RUNNINSONOFAGUN as an alternative. It’s Charge It’s race to lose but I like the stalking style of “Runnin” to settle in and see if the two favorites hook up
$ 7.00 WPS 5 Cost $ 21.00
$ 7.00 Ex 1, 5 w/ 1, 5, 6 Cost $ 28.00
Race 9:
Clement may have a pair of Aces in here as bith his runners look solid. I prefer (3) ANADOR as she seemed to come back from a layoff a little rusty while burning money in to starts. She rallied last time then ran out of gas late. The cut back to 6F is probably the difference for her. (7) SHE’S THE ONE exits some fast sprints against NY Breds and now tries the open company. She too cuts back. I will try to get a 10:1ML filly home. (11) CRUZ BY ships in for Joe Sharp who is having a decent meet despite only one win. His runners have been live with 8 out of 12 in the money finishes. This one stretches out and has a serious late kick to be dangerous late. I’m hoping for speed early to set up this race. (10) O’GOTTEN GIRL is the speed of the speeds so if they leave her alone, she may be hard to reel in.
$ 7.00 WPS 11 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Ex 3, 11 w/ 3, 7, 10, 11 Cost $ 18.00
Race 10:
I think you need to start with the two Brown runners in this finale on the turf. (12) POET OF LIFE makes his US debut and sports a bullet gate work last week for this. Prat gets first dibs and this Frankel cuts back to 1M. (7) DEVILS OUTLAW has a win and a 2nd in two starts here and this War Front stretches out. He prefers 2nd place more, so I’ll try to beat him with the Shug runner (6) CELESTIAL CITY. He likes to come from off the pace and could get a nice set up here. Castellano has a win on him and a fast closing 2nd. (11) KHAFRE moves back to the turf after a close 2nd in the mud. He prefers the turf and is working the best of this group in the AM.
