What an afternoon of racing we have ahead of us today throughout the country. We decided to stay on brand on focus on the Belmont card today. We have five stake races today at Belmont and we have each of those races covered. I am going to play a pick 3 for races 5-7, while Big Pete will be keying in on the late pick 3 for races 8-10. Make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to receive notification of new blog posts and a weekly blog sent to your email. GOOD LUCK.

Little Pete's "Play of the Day":

Pimlico Race 11 (Preakness):

The two favorites, (3) Art Collector and (9) Authentic, are going to be a tough beat in here but could engage in an early battle that opens them up late to a late charger. I am still on the (4) Swiss Skydiver bandwagon and think that this filly is going to find her stalking position early and let the boys battle up front. Plus, it would be fantastic if she came out and beat the boys. I love the value we will get with her and think it is worth the risk.

$5.00 WPS 4 Cost: $15.00

$2.00 Ex Box 3,4,9 Cost: $12.00

Big Pete's "Play of the Day":

Belmont Race 5:

Frank’s Rockette is lethal at 6F. Not so much when she tries to go longer. I’ll try to beat her with (5) HONOR WAY today. Jose is 3 for 3 on this Mare and she likes the 6.5F She’ll have a couple of targets in front of her and will close fast through the Belmont stretch.

$10.00 WPS 5 Cost: $30.00

Little Pete's Belmont Spot Pick 3:

Race 5:

(4) Frank's Rockette is the horse to beat in this short field and well worth a look at singling in your horizontal plays. This horse is ascending each time she steps out on the track and has proven to be a great three year old sprinter. She will be going off at a ridiculously low odds and you absolutely cannot leave off your ticket. That being said, I am going to take a little insurance here with the (2) Royal Charlotte. A relatively disappointing four year old campaign so far after such an impressive three year old campaign. Both (2) Royal Charlotte and (4) Frank's Rockette are the 2019 & 2020 winners of the Gr.3 Victory Ride Stakes and the Gr.2 Prioress Stakes, and meeting here in the Gr.2 Gallant Bloom. If you are looking for some drama; you got it. I am adding (5) Honor Way because Big Pete forced my hand with his best bet above.

$10.00 Ex 4 w/ 2,5 Cost: $20.00

$2.00 Ex 2,5 w/ 2,4,5 Cost: 8.00

Race 6:

This will be an exciting Gr.2 Pilgrim in here with a bunch of promising two year olds. I really like the outside horse, (8) Zippy Baby, to find the early lead here and have a chance to wire the field. (1) ShawdyShawdyShawdy is another horse that I think is a big time player in here. This horse ran a big race post breaking his maiden and I think runs a big one in here. (3) Public Sector ran a good race first time out and should improve second time out. (4) American Monarch is my last play here who also will like getting back to this distance and a major threat when it comes stretch time.

$3.00 WPS 8 Cost: $9.00

$2.00 Ex 1,8 w/ 1,3,4,8 Cost: $12.00

Race 7:

I really think this race is (4) Rockemporer's race to lose in here. The pace horse is going to be (2) Master Piece, who I will also be including on the ticket, and I think that (4) Rockemporer will have a great pace to run in to late. (3) Channel Maker is fresh off a wire to wire win against others in this field on a soft track and I think that the pace matters in here. This horse will be able to be forwardly placed throughout and find his path as the race dictates.

$5.00 WPS 4 Cost: $15.00

$3.00 Ex 4 w/ 2,3 Cost: $6.00

$2.00 Ex 2,3 w/ 2,3,4 Cost: $8.00

Big Pete's Belmont Late Pick 3:

Race 8:

The G2 Kelso kicks off this late Pk3 and I’ll lean heavy on Shug’s runner (5) CODE OF HONOR. He doesn’t have to deal with Improbable or Vekoma today and seems better than the other two contenders to me. Castellano, who subs in, is a nice fit for his running style. (4) COMPLEXITY will take some money here but is he really faced the same competition as Code? The connection are there but I’m not sold that this is the same guy we saw in the 2018 Champagne. (3) ENDORSED is the one I’m more worried about. He gave Code a scare in the mud back in June and was close in the Met mile. The 1M distance is what he wants and should battle through the stretch.

$10.00 Ex 5 w/ 3,4 Cost: $20.00

$3.00 Ex 3 w/ 4,5 Cost: $6.00

Race 9:

Jose sticks with (1) NO WORD here and so will I. May not have handled the tight turns at the Spa as he didn’t get on track until it was too late last time. Look for him to gather momentum around the Belmont oval and kick home the whole stretch. I’m not sure (6) PIXELATE wants to go this far but he ran for Lezcano last year and they meet up again here. (2) GUFO just missed against these same runners last time and is the main danger again. The race is void of speed and this guy likes to come from way back. Jr may need to use him earlier to keep close.

$7.00 WPS 1 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 1,2 w/ 1,2,6,8 Cost: $18.00

Race 10:

We’ll roll the dice with two runners that while not see a lot of action at the windows. (11) SAYOH is a Noble Mission, out of a Harlan’s Holiday Mare so turf top & bottom. She comes in with a steady work tab capped by a bullet gate work last week. Worth a shot at this ML. (8) KHALI MAGIC gets her turf from dad and speed from Mom. Englehart is sharp right now so this is the one I’ll put on top. Davis should try to bottom them out and hope she can last. (7) HEDDA has the connection and will draw a lot of attention. Not much from Run Happy yet so I’ll let this one beat me. (5) SHE’S A MAJESTIC wanted turf last time, but it was taken off. Gets her chance today and attracts Manny for the ride.

$7.00 WPS 8 Cost: $21.00

$3.00 Ex 8,11 w/ 5,7,8,11 Cost: $18.00
