We have 9 scheduled at Belmont Park and the Dad's take centerstage. The weather looks perfect. I will be condensing my plays down to just the number and attacking the early double ( Races 1 & 2 ) and a spot pick 3 ( Races 4-6 ). Big Pete will attack his "Play of the Day" and the late pick 3 ( Races 7-9 ). We appreciate you taking a look at this write-up and GOOD LUCK.
Little Pete's $15.00 Early Double:
R1: 4
R2: 4
Cost: $15.00
Little Pete's $ 1.00 Spot Pick 3:
R4: 4, 5, 7, 8
R5: 5, 6, 8
R6: 5, 6, 8
Cost: $ 36.00
Big Pete's $ 1.00 Late Pick 3:
R7: 1, 6, 9
R8: 1, 9, 10
R9: 1, 4, 8, 9 Cost: $ 36.00
Big Pete's "Play of the Day":
Race 3:
(5) MINISTERIAL is the horse to beat and i can't find anyone in here to do that. Johnny V got the W with him last time at Keeneland and tries NW3L today. Not much of a hike in class so a Re-Pete should be in order. We'll use on top and try to get a price undeneath. There is plenty of speed signed on so the to longshots can sit back and let them go at it and wait fo them to back up.
Both (3) Merchants of Cool and (6) Prince of Joy fit that scenario underneath for the exacta
$ 7.00 Exacta 5 w/ 3, 6 Cost $ 14.00
We'll use (5) Ministerial in R3 and try to cash in on the Double in R4
(5) Brennan's War and (7) Forty One Tales look solid in Race 4
$ 7.00 Double 5 w/ 5, 7 Cost $ 14.00
Big Pete's Late Pick 3:
Race 7:
(9) STELLA MARS stretches back out and I think that's what she wants to do. Her best races have come going long vs sprints and Handal is going well right now. I'll use (6) CROWDING OUT defensively because Irad is winning but I don't think she wants to go this far. (1) HOME FOR CHRISTMAS made a nice move to get into position to win last time but coasted home instead of finishing. The competition was a little better so the small drop might help get her there today.
$ 7.00 WPS 9 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Exacta 1, 9 w/ 1, 6, 9 Cost $ 12.00
Race 8:
(9) STOLEN FUTURE is the horse to beat, IMO, but the last furlong will be dicey. (10) MA BIG BUCKS getting back to the turf looks scary. Gomez can get aggressive with her and go early. She's bred top and bottom to get over the grass at this 7F distance. (8) LES BON TEMPS tries turf and most likely will like it. Jose returns and has been keeping good company her entire career. The sleeper in the rail runner (1) RED MOON. There is some grass influence in his pedigree and came running late last time when he faced fellow NY Breds. Javier takes over and there is plenty of speed entered to help his late kick. I have to take a shot at this 10:1ML offering.
$ 7.00 WPS 1 Cost $ 21.00
$ 3.00 Exacta 1, 10 w/ 1, 8, 9, 10 Cost $ 18.00
Race 9:
(1) ALIBI IKE is the one to beat. Ward puts out sprinter, they attract Irad and he drops. A must use for me. (4) GRAND AGAIN is the wise guy pick that I'll include. He's shown slight improvement in his last three and this is a very suspect field with all the drops. Rice claimed (8) HOOEY for 20k, moved him up and ran poorly and now drops today. I'll only use defensively as this move looks odd. I will try to beat them all with (9) BRASS MONKEY. We should get all of this 6:1 ML as it's Klesaris and Moreno who don't scare many these days. He ran well on the turf against slightly better and moves to his best surface today. Drops a notch and loses some weight.
